The White House previously accused "Newscum" of "lying" about safety concerns.By Carly LedbetterOct 20, 2025California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) sounded off against the Trump administration on Sunday, after live ammunition was fired over California freeways in celebration of the Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary.Bits of shrapnel from ammunition fell onto cars parked on the freeway, including one car from Vance’s own motorcade, after one shell prematurely detonated, The New York Times reported on Sunday. The California Highway Patrol also reported artillery debris striking one of its patrol vehicles, calling it an “unusual and concerning situation.”
We know that a shell did explode and they ended the live fire exercise immediately.
The comments were what got me, for one thing they continue with the juvenile name calling.
- Newscum isn't smart enough to warn anyone about anything.
- Trump attempted to close the highway but Newsome fought him. Newsome then claims he saved everyone?
- Did Karoline "chipmunk cheeks" "officially" respond to this or was it Steven "Double OddJob" the "official" blathermouth non entity?
- FAKE NEWS
- Newsom’s a fairy and so are most of Californians nowadays.
- Portraying Newsom as competent is pathetic, if he was, why is California such a failure?
- Gravel off the roadway isn't "shrapnel"
- Negative Nancy Newscum
- Newsom’s a fairy and so are most of Californians nowadays.
Okay... did they say anything about the live fire exercise? Nope. Were they worried that someone might have gotten hurt? Nope. Did they even believe that the shell exploded? Many did not. What they did do is make it an attack on the governor and saw nothing wrong with shooting live shells over the heads of civilians?
All the comments were about the governor... not one about the live fire exercise.
The California Highway Patrol reported...
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif.— The California Highway Patrol (CHP) published an internal report on an incident that occurred on Saturday, October 18, in which metal shrapnel from explosive ordnance fired over the Interstate 5 freeway detonated overhead prematurely, striking and damaging a CHP patrol vehicle. The incident happened in the area where CHP officers were supporting a traffic break along I-5 near Camp Pendleton during an exceptional U.S. Marine Corps live-fire training demonstration over the freeway, and where the CHP had elected to stop traffic during the live-fire exercise.“This was an unusual and concerning situation,” said CHP Border Division Chief Tony Coronado. “It is highly uncommon for any live-fire or explosive training activity to occur over an active freeway. As a Marine myself, I have tremendous respect for our military partners, but my foremost responsibility is ensuring the safety of the people of California and the officers who protect them.”Although no injuries were reported, CHP personnel immediately notified the Marine Corps at the scene, who then canceled firing additional live ordnance over the freeway, and the area was swept for further evaluation. The CHP has filed an internal report on the incident, with a recommendation to conduct an additional after-action review into the planning, communication and coordination between federal, state, and local government around the event on Saturday, October 18, to strengthen protocols for future demonstrations and training events near public roadways.
The LA Times reported that,
A simulated beach assault in which artillery was fired from the sand toward the interior of the sprawling base was intended to be a capstone demonstration of the capabilities of the Marine Corps. But the display went awry — and was forced to end early — when an artillery round exploded midair, sending shrapnel raining down onto a California Highway Patrol cruiser that was parked on an Interstate 5 on-ramp.[...]Artillery pieces such as the M777 howitzers that were used during Saturday’s demonstration aren’t fired on the base very frequently, and sending artillery rounds over the freeway is extremely rare. In fact, none of Camp Pendleton’s artillery firing areas are located west of Interstate 5, according to base maps.Designated impact areas — Whiskey and Zulu — are located far inland and are used for live-fire exercises, according to maps of the base. There are also preplanned artillery firing areas, none of which are along the beaches west of Interstate 5, according to maps of the Marine Corps base.
So this was all for "Show & Tell" for the VP and the Defense Secretary!
What gets me is all the lies and their MAGA base just parrots it back at them.
