F**k The Courts

No that is not me saying that but a top federal DoJ official said that! That is what 60 Minutes reported that it was Emil Bove the #3 man at the Department of Justice!

Erez Reuveni was on his way up. He was an attorney in the Department of Justice who was so effective defending President Trump's first-term immigration policy, that he was promoted right away in Trump's second term. But Reuveni's 15-year Justice Department career ended suddenly after, he says, he witnessed government lawyers lying in court and evading orders of a judge. These last few months have been a time of upheaval in the Justice Department. Now, Reuveni's claims are raising concern in courtrooms across the country. The administration has called Reuveni a leaker seeking five minutes of fame. But in his first television interview, Erez Reuveni told us, he's paid a price: speaking up cost him his dream.

[...]

But it was the very day of that promotion, Friday, March 14th, that he, and others, were called to a fateful meeting with Emil Bove, President Trump's newly appointed number three at the Justice Department, who was once Trump's criminal defense attorney.

Erez Reuveni: And we were told at this meeting that over the weekend, the president of the United States would be signing a proclamation invoking something called the Alien Enemies Act. This is a wartime law from 1798 invoked three times in the nation's history, during the War of 1812, World War I, and World War II.

The Alien Enemies Act allows rapid expulsion from the U.S. of the citizens of enemy nations during a war. But without a declared war, Trump used it against more than 100 Venezuelans that the government said were terrorists. They were to be denied their right to be heard by a judge. Reuveni says above expected a challenge.

Erez Reuveni: Bove emphasized, those planes need to take off, no matter what. And then after a pause, he also told all in attendance, and if some court should issue an order preventing that, we may have to consider telling that court, 'f*** you.'
This is one of the top officials in the DoJ that ignores the Constitution as he has sworn to up hold!
The next day, Saturday, lawyers for the prisoners sued. Judge James Boasberg called a hearing and asked government lawyer, Drew Ensign, whether the planes were leaving that weekend.

Erez Reuveni: And Ensign says to Boasberg, I don't know. Now Ensign was at the same meeting that I was at the day before, where we were told in no uncertain terms that planes were taking off over the weekend, that those planes needed to take off no matter what. And he says, I don't know.
And the federal prosecutor perjured himself! He knowingly lied to the judge under orders from the top Department of Justice officials!

For as long as there has been a border between us, crossing has been casual... but then came xenophobic Trump!

There is still a place where you can walk freely across an international border, no questions asked. The only protest is the squeaking floorboards near the well-worn boundary line painted on the floor. This is the Haskell Free Library and Opera House, a Victorian palace to art, culture and education that actually has dual citizenship, because part of it sits in Stanstead, Quebec, while the other half stretches into Derby Line, Vermont.

It was the vision of Martha Stewart Haskell, a wealthy Canadian who married a wealthy American. She had it built in 1901 as a gift, and it was built straddling the border specifically so it could welcome both communities. "At that time, this was family, both sides," said American Kathy Converse, who has been volunteering here for 20 years.
But all of that is ending after
Converse said, "And it's just sort of – I'm gonna stick with my one word that I use for the situation: Sad."

In January, the same day President Donald Trump was sworn into office, U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Maland was shot and killed during a traffic stop about 15 miles from the library. A Seattle woman has been indicted for his murder. Hundreds turned out on the streets of Burlington, Vt., in January to say goodbye.

A week later, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem flew to Vermont to pay her respects. She also made a surprise visit to the library.

Asked how that visit went, Sylvie Boudreau, president of the library's board of trustees, replied, "I have to say she was very polite with me."
But...
But a few weeks after Noem's visit, Boudreau was notified the building's literary loophole was closing, ending Martha Stewart Haskell's century-old vision of cooperation. "I'm getting emotional," Boudreau said, "because [Haskell's] first mission was really to reunite people, not to divide."

Starting this month, Canadians are no longer allowed to use the U.S. sidewalk that leads to the library's grand front entrance. Instead, they have to report to a legal U.S. port of entry first. In the back of the library, on the Canadian side, was a rarely-used emergency exit. They turned that exit into an entrance, not as welcoming to Canadians as the front perhaps, but for now, it'll have to do.
Xenophobia runs rampant in Trump's administrations!

Trump changes the immigration policy to favor White South Africans and other White racists!
The proposals would transform a program aimed at helping the most vulnerable people in the world into one that gives preference to mostly white people who say they are being persecuted.

The Trump administration is considering a radical overhaul of the U.S. refugee system that would slash the program to its bare bones while giving preference to English speakers, white South Africans and Europeans who oppose migration, according to documents obtained by The New York Times.

The proposals, some of which already have gone into effect, would transform a decades-old program aimed at helping the world’s most desperate people into one that conforms to Mr. Trump’s vision of immigration — which is to help mostly white people who say they are being persecuted while keeping the vast majority of other people out.

[...]

The proposed changes would put new emphasis on whether applicants would be able to assimilate into the United States, directing them to take classes on “American history and values” and “respect for cultural norms.”

The proposals also advise Mr. Trump to prioritize Europeans who have been “targeted for peaceful expression of views online such as opposition to mass migration or support for ‘populist’ political parties.”
That is so blatantly xenophobic! "Assimilate" translated from Trump speak... they are White English speakers... we don't want anyone who doesn't look like us!

Did you ever wonder where "The Donald" got his racist tendencies? From his father! His father was arrested at a KKK rally in New York City. Colorlines writes...
The Washington Post reports that Trump’s father, Fred, was arrested after a 1927 brawl lead by the Ku Klux Klan in Queens, New York. On Memorial Day, 1,000 Klansmen donned their robes and marched through the streets of the Jamaica neighborhood. The march turned into a riot, and Fred Trump and six others were arrested. The records don’t indicate if Trump was one of the hooded Klansman, but he shared an attorney with the other men who were taken into custody.
I wonder Daddy sat little "Donald" on his lap and told him about the "wonderful day we bashed heads"?
