Laws That Define Mother Nature

Once again, the courts are trying to decide what a man is and what a woman is. Medical literature generally recognizes between 30 and 40 distinct intersex conditions! Yet, our "fearless" legislators are launching a direct attack on Mother Nature, passing laws claiming there are only two sexes. Consider conditions like 5-Alpha Reductase Deficiency, where an individual can be assigned female but have XY chromosomes.

The UK Supreme Court ruled in April 2025 that the definition of a woman in equalities law is based on biological sex.

The decision, which applies to rules protecting people from discrimination in the workplace and wider society in England, Scotland and Wales, has caused heated debate about the implications for transgender people.

Businesses, public bodies and charities are among those reviewing their policies, particularly around single-sex spaces, such as toilets. A code of practice, produced by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), is being considered by the government.

Northern Ireland follows anti-discrimination laws introduced before the 2010 Equality Act.

What is biological sex?
The Supreme Court judgment used a simple definition of biological sex: it is the sex recorded at birth. The court said this is widely used in law.

Critics argue that it is not a complete definition, so it is helpful to know some of the science behind the debate.

Only females can produce eggs and only males can produce sperm. Even if someone cannot have children they are still biologically male or female.
Do you know the quagmire that ruling will generate?
What did the Supreme Court Ruling say?
In April 2025, the UK Supreme Court gave its judgment in a long-running argument over how a woman should be defined under equalities law.

The justices ruled unanimously that when the 2010 Equality Act - which applies in England, Scotland and Wales - refers to "a woman" it means a biological female, and that the term "sex" means biological sex. It also said that sex is binary, meaning someone is either male or female.

The For Women Scotland campaign group brought the case against the Scottish government, after it introduced legislation which included some trans women in its definition of women.
However, not every woman assigned female at birth has XX chromosomes or produces eggs! Women with Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (AIS) do not produce eggs and have XY chromosomes; under the British Court ruling, would all women with AIS now be declared male? And how will they know? Will the courts require everyone in Great Britain to have their chromosomes tested? Or will they only require testing for those women who don't look "feminine" enough? Enforcing such a ruling creates a "privacy nightmare"—short of mandatory genetic testing for the entire population, there is no way for the state to know who carries XY chromosomes with only visual or medical profiling.

You cannot put Mother Nature in a box... she gets very angry!

The Gender Police Is Coming To Take You Away!

All across the country women are being accosted by the "gender police" to prove their gender!

She was 18 years old when a restaurant server followed her into the bathroom, pounded on her stall door, and demanded she leave. The server refused to believe Gerika Murda was a woman, so Murda unzipped her baggy sweatshirt and stepped forward. Only after seeing her breasts in a tighter shirt did the server finally back down.

This is what gender surveillance looks like in practice. It’s where you, your friend, your daughter or your wife must undress to “prove” their womanhood in a public restroom. For over a decade, conservative lawmakers have justified trans bathroom bans as protection for women and girls, despite the overwhelming lack of evidence that transgender people pose any danger to women, and the fact that crimes in bathrooms — such as sexual assault or indecent exposure — are already crimes.

Just weeks ago, Idaho made using the “wrong” bathroom in a private business or government building a crime punishable by up to five years in prison. The math here is perplexing: Why is the Idaho Legislature focused on restricting the rights of the 0.64% of Idahoans who identify as transgender while 41% of Idaho households are struggling to pay for housing, childcare and food?
Just think what the legislature could do if they devoted their time and effort in to the real problems in Idaho? Then again, that might be the real reason that they are going after us... to distract us from what they are really doing or not doing.

This is not the first time this has happened! Just searching last year I found these articles.

A queer couple said they were ordered to leave a Boston hotel on Saturday after a security officer demanded one of the women to show identification to “prove” her sex while using the women’s restroom. Both women are cisgender.

In an online Google review of Liberty Hotel published on Monday, Boston.com reports that Elizabeth Victor said the security officer approached her girlfriend, Ansley Baker, while she was in a stall, using the toilet. The couple was attending a Kentucky Derby party at the hotel when, according to Victor, Baker was “forcibly removed from the women’s restroom by a staff member.”
And that is on top of the fact... it is not like Republican states where they discriminant against us... this is Massachusetts!
Both women are cis, CBS’ local affiliate reports, but it is important to note that according to the Movement Advancement Project, Massachusetts does not prohibit people from using the bathroom consistent with their gender identity. The state also explicitly prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

“She was humiliated and physically confronted while still inside the stall, pulling up her pants, and forced to show ID to ‘prove’ her sex,” Victor wrote. “Even after verifying she is a woman, we were both ejected from the event entirely, while shaken, crying, and publicly shamed… No guests stepped in. No staff de-escalated the situation. No compassion was shown. This was not just unprofessional — it was traumatizing, discriminatory, and dehumanizing. My partner and I are devastated.”
Watch out! The "Gender Police" is out there!
Gerika Mudra, an 18-year-old high school student in Minnesota, has since filed a charge of discrimination against the restaurant

A high school student is fighting back after a Buffalo Wild Wings employee allegedly followed her into the bathroom and wouldn't stop harassing her until the teen ended up unzipping her hoodie to "prove" she's a girl.

On Tuesday, Aug. 12, Gender Justice filed a charge of discrimination with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights (MDHR) on behalf of 18-year-old high school student Gerika Mudra, according to a press release from the nonprofit.

Mudra, who is a biracial lesbian, according to NBC News, was eating at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Owatonna when she got up to use the bathroom.

In a video released by Gender Justice, the teen said the server followed her into the bathroom and "came in yelling, 'This is a women's restroom, the man needs to get out.' "
Watch out! The "Gender Police" is out to get you!

“Gender policing” is pinching cis women who don’t conform to expected appearance norms!

This isn't new, I wrote about the same thing back in 2006 at boxing match where a security guard yelled  "This is Security! Everyone out! There's a man in the bathroom!" Then again in 2016, in Trump's first term I wrote where a grandma was jailed in a men's jail with 40 male prisoners for over 10 hours!

Watch out! The "Gender Police" is enforcing Trump's version of female beauty... how many long haired blonde women work in the White House? Have you seem any women working there with short dark hair? Hmm...? Just saying.

NYC Hotel Discriminated Against Me For Being Non-Binary!!!
Exclusive

Wesley Han, a non-binary actor famous for their work in "Power Book II: Ghost," is suing a swanky hotel in New York City for harassment and discrimination ... and it sounds like it's all about which bathroom they allegedly used.

In a new lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Wesley claims they were attending a private event at the Soho Grand Hotel when they were accosted by a security guard who forcibly removed them from the women's restroom.

Wesley says they were dressed in women's clothing when they attempted to use the women's restroom ... and they say a security guard asked women in the foyer, "Excuse me ladies, have you seen a man enter?”

Wesley alleges the guard was told "no" but entered the restroom anyways and would not allow them to wash their hands. They claim the guard escorted them to the men's restroom, humiliating them in a walk of shame.
Um... NYC and New York have non-discrimination laws!

The Birds And The Bee

You know the right-wing conservative think we chose to be LGBTQ+ that one day we wake up and thinking… “You know what? I think that I’ll be trans!” It would be great to get the cr*p beat out of me and be discriminated against.”

And they totally ignore that the birds and bees do it!

Elliot Page wants audiences to see the "full spectrum of life."

The Oscar-nominated actor is the executive producer and narrator on the new film Second Nature, a documentary that aims to "debunks harmful myths about sex and gender." The movie explores over 1,500 species that engage in same-sex relationships, following how some parent, change sex, and more.

“What a joy and honor it has been to narrate this beautiful, funny, enlightening and inspiring documentary," Page said in a statement. "Second Nature reveals the full spectrum of life and how when it comes to gender and sexuality in nature, the diversity is endless. I learned so much and am thrilled others will too.”

The documentary, awarded grants from the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund and the Frameline Completion Fund, is the first to follow the work of transgender researcher and trailblazer Joan Roughgarden, as well as several other groundbreaking women, BIPOC, and immigrant scientists who "face fierce opposition for correcting the record" — evolutionary biologists Patricia Brennan and Joseph Graves, as well as primatologists and anthropologists Frans de Waal and Amy Parish.
Growing up we had farms on three side of my parents house and every once in a while the cows and horses got loose and we woke up to them on our front lawn. So I know Mother Nature. And all those conservative farmers know it.
Study shows same-sex behaviour is widespread and heritable in macaque monkeys
Observations of a wild colony of macaques over three years show same-sex sexual behaviour among males is widespread and may be beneficial.

The results, published today in Nature Ecology and Evolution, suggest same-sex sexual behaviour (SSB) has evolved and may be a common feature of primate reproduction.

Conducted by researchers at Imperial College London, the observations and genetic data form the first long-term study of SSB in males within one species. Their study challenges the beliefs of some that SSB is a rare behaviour in non-human animals or solely the product of unusual environmental conditions.

First author Jackson Clive, from the Georgina Mace Centre for the Living Planet at Imperial, said: “We found most males were behaviourally bisexual, and that variation in same-sex activity was heritable. This means that the behaviour can have an evolutionary underpinning; for example, we also found that males that mounted each other were also more likely to back each other up in conflicts – perhaps this could be one of many social benefits to same-sex sexual activity."

"Our research therefore shows that same-sex sexual behaviours can be common amongst animals and can evolve. I hope our results encourage further discoveries in this area.''
The conservatives like to quote Sgt. Schultz, “I see nothing!”
Though the researchers caution against direct comparisons to humans, they say their study challenges the beliefs of some that SSB is a rare behaviour in non-human animals or solely the product of unusual environmental conditions.
What about us? Do we find cross gender behavior in the animal world?
Are There “Transgender” Proclivities in Animals?
We tend to think of gender expression as uniquely human. But many species gain advantages by projecting an opposite-sex appearance.

I spent last week at a bird conference in North Carolina, a state where gender identity has been at the forefront of conversation. Between scientific talks, I sat down with a group of conference attendees to discuss how we could better include underrepresented voices in our research. Inevitably, as always seems to happen when scientists attempt to discuss non-scientific concepts, we found ourselves drawing on examples from our work—in our case, wildlife biology.

We tend to think of gender expression, and especially gender non-conformity, as uniquely human. However, many other species gain distinct advantages by projecting an appearance that doesn’t “match” their biological sex. Snakes, lizards, beetles, fish, and birds, to name a few, all exhibit “transgender” behaviors in which males imitate females to gain advantages, including reduced competition, better access to territory, and improved mating opportunities.
The JSTOR article says, “In some species, however, we witness permanent female mimics: males that continue to resemble females throughout their lives.”

Ah… Mister Republican you are trying to force us to be something we are not. You are trying to fit us into your little neat Judeo-Christian world, have you heard of North America indigenous people’s Two Spirit, but when the Christian missionaries came they forced them to give up their beliefs.

We are found in cultures around the world the Britannica Encyclopedia list them. In India we are the Hijra, in Indonesia we are the Calalai, Calabai, and Bissu, in Mexico we are know as the Muxe, we are the Sekrata in Madagascar, and in the Philippines we are known as the bakla!

The Republicans last year tried to pass over 360 bills to wipe us out, to change who we are, to force us in to the evangelical Christian ideology of maleness and femaleness. We are not a flash in the pan, we have been here since day one.

A Unique Perspective

I turned on Nova and the title was “Picture a Scientist” S48/E06, women in STEM and I figured it would be all positive but it is all about gender discrimination and sexual harassment at work.

What a great show! From PBS,
Women make up less than a quarter of STEM professionals in the United States, and numbers are even lower for women of color. But there is a growing group of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists, exposing longstanding discrimination, and leading the way in making science more inclusive. A biologist, a chemist, and a geologist lead viewers on a journey through their own experiences in the sciences, ranging from outright harassment to years of subtle slights. Along the way, from cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, scientific visionaries, including social scientists, neuroscientists, and psychologists, provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equitable, and open to all. (Premiered April 14, 2021)
I have a friend that I lost track of but I remember a story she told, she was a project manager at a big engineering company. When “he” suggested something in a project meeting everyone hopped to it. However, once she transitioned all of a sudden it was she had gotten lobotomy, at one project meeting she was asked to get the coffee.

While a trans man told me that all of sudden it is as that he has a brain.

I am always reminded of Judy Collins song “Both Sides Now” I would like to change it from…
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
To…
I've looked at gender from both sides now
From male and female and still somehow life is the same.

Snowflake, Snowflake, Watch Him Melt

They talk about us being a bunch of snowflakes, but…
His poor dog appeared confused and scared as the man ranted.

A man visiting a Petco in Ohio with his dog gave an incredible rant when he discovered that the store offered a gender-neutral restroom. He shouted at the employees before leaving the store in a rage.

The Cleveland-area man’s episode was captured on video and posted to TikTok and has quickly gone viral.

“This is stupid,” he shouted, gesturing toward the restroom. People “have had enough with that crap!” he complained. “I don’t care what your policy is!”

The agitated man’s small dog appeared distressed by the situation as it pulled in the opposite direction, unclear about what was happening.

The man turned toward the exit, apparently having been asked to leave, then stopped and spun around.

“Stop with the gender-neutral sh*t!" he barked. “Men and women are different!”

[…]

As the man’s back was visible, one could read that his shirt had written on it, “We the people are pissed off,” beneath a U.S. flag. He then left the store without further incident, leaving people looking shocked and confused.
TV station WTRF channel 7 said,
“We were just shopping in Petco and all of a sudden someone started screaming. After a minute, I walked to the front of the store and that’s when he began yelling about the single use restrooms being labeled gender neutral,” Arianna told Storyful.
It really doesn’t take much to set them off.

What Hath Conservatives Wrought!

The battle of the genders that the conservatives have created for political gain takes no prisoners.

There are many who are caught in the crossfire…
  • A Canadian girl, 9, was brought to tears by a man who insisted she was trans, her parents said.
  • It happened at a regional track and field competition for elementary school kids, per Castanet.
  • The parents say the man, who has denied the allegations, wanted their daughter disqualified.

A 9-year-old girl was yelled at during a regional track and field event in British Columbia, Canada, on Sunday by a man who insisted she was trans and that she should be disqualified from competing, her parents said, according to local news outlet Castanet.

The child's mothers, who chose not to disclose their daughter's name, told Castanet that the girl was competing in a shot put event at Kelowna's Apple Bowl when the grandfather of another participant began to yell at her.

Heidi Starr, one of her mothers, told the local news outlet: "Right before she went to throw, a grandfather of a student said, 'Hey, this is supposed to be a girls' event, and why are you letting boys compete.'"

The girl's mother clarified that her daughter is cisgender, meaning she was assigned female at birth and still identifies as a girl. She mentioned that her daughter has a pixie haircut, adding that the man also pointed and shouted at another girl with short hair.
The right-wingers are in such a feeding frenzy that they put sharks to shame… they smell blood and they go after anyone who do not fit the looks of their gender norms.
The incident left the girl "visibly shaking and sobbing," said Starr, according to the New York Post.
What all these anti-Trans laws are doing is denying us a safe places and only to those who don’t fit their idea of gender norms. Trans women who can assimilate are not picked on, cis women who don’t fit their ideal woman are picked on.
Starr told the New York Post that she hopes the situation shines a light on "how awful and extreme" anti-trans rhetoric has become.

She added: "This is proof that this has nothing to do with protecting children."
That is what the Republicans are doing, and they blame it on us.

Where Is The Outrage Over Bathrooms!

The do-gooders are all up in a tizzy over trans people using the bathroom of our gender identity but I think not many of them have ever been to sports event or a concert. The lack of women stall is amazing, women either have to wait in line for extended period of times or… use the men’s room and where are the gender police? (Probably standing in line.)
Men who have to use the loo aren’t finding a very familiar scene.

Michael Carey, a 28-year-old from Minnesota, was in section 239 of Chicago’s Soldier Field for Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” in early June. It put him in the enviable second pavilion above the floor seats—close enough that he wouldn’t need to rely on the jumbotron to enjoy the show—among a teeming legion of Swifties who’ve waited months, if not years, for this precise moment. This was going to be a marathon, and Carey timed his biological necessities accordingly. He left to use the bathroom just before Taylor Swift was scheduled to appear, ensuring that his body would be airtight and leak-free during the three-hour show. But as the facilities came into view, Carey began to panic. A serpentine line of women coiled out of the men’s bathroom and down the stadium corridor. The female Swiftie demographic massively outweighs the men, and in the spirit of majoritarian revolution, they’d overthrown the gender-specific lavatories.

[…]

“I moved past all of the women in line, telling them that I was going for the urinal,” he told me. “When I exited, two men were also skipping the line and doing the same thing without complaint. I was back to my seat within two minutes, and all the women in my row rolled their eyes at how fast I returned.”
Where are the gender police? Oh the horrors! The inhumanities! The immorality!

Hey wait! Did anything happen to the women in the men’s room? Did anyone complain? Was the sanctuary of the men’s room violated?
To be fair, neither Wickman nor Carey reported any friction between the genders as they went about their business in mixed company. “It did make it a bit difficult to make it to a sink to wash my hands as there was a crowd of women all doing their makeup with heart eyes or painting 13s on their hand with eyeliner,” Carey said. “Which is not something you typically see in a men’s bathroom.” In fact, after years of institutional male privilege—the simple bodily reality that the women’s queue tends to be longer than the men’s queue—Carey felt he was due to get a taste of his own medicine.
Two take away from this…
  • First nothing happens when the genders are mixed in the bathrooms.
  • Second, the building codes were written by men and need to face the realities of life. At stadiums, theaters, and other venues where there are large crowds there needs to be more stalls for women.
Yeah, I had to wait in line and it is no fun hopping on one foot and keeping your legs crosses and then making a mad dash to the open stall telling your bladder wait… wait just a little more.

When I went to see Beautiful: The Carole King Musical just before intermission there was a rush of women leaving before the intermission. It took a minute to realize what was happening. So we have a choice a Hobson’s choice... missing the end of an act or the beginning of the next act.
In fact, if there’s any takeaway from Taylor Swift’s nationwide trek, it’s that despite the hysterical right-wing discourse, where vindictive statehouses are restricting the places trans people are allowed to urinate—as a way to humiliate and subjugate one of the most vulnerable populations—gender-neutral bathrooms get the job done. At the end of the day, all anyone wants to do is pee.
