Looney Tunes

There are cries of a cover up! There are cries of a double standard! An there are signs that we all can see of Trump going bonkers.

A month ago it was noticeable then and The Guardian wrote;

I love the golf cart touch!

Joe Biden was hounded for his age-related gaffes, but Trump’s increasingly strange behavior has largely been ignored

Donald Trump’s frequently bizarre public appearances, which this month have seen the president claim, wrongly, that his uncle knew the Unabomber and rant unprompted about windmills on his recent trip to the UK, have once again raised questions about his mental acuity, experts say.

For more than a year Trump, 79, has exhibited odd behavior at campaign events, in interviews, in his spontaneous remarks and at press conferences. The president repeatedly drifts off topic, including during a cabinet meeting this month when he spent 15 minutes talking about decorating, and appears to misremember simple facts about his government and his life.

During his presidency, Joe Biden was subjected to intense speculation over his mental acuity – including from Trump. After Biden’s disastrous debate performance in June 2024, when he repeatedly struggled to maintain his train of thought, scrutiny over Biden’s fitness eventually led to him not running for re-election.
But not a peep out of the media... it is almost like the media is intimidated by Trump and his lawsuits.

Then we had the great "Generals"  fiasco and The Atlantic says:
All in all, an utterly embarrassing address. But that wasn’t the worst of it. The assembled military leaders likely already knew that Hegseth is unqualified for his job, and they could mostly tune out the sloganeering that Hegseth, a former TV host, was probably aiming more at Fox News and the White House than at the military itself. What they could not ignore, however, was the spectacle that President Donald Trump put on when he spoke after Hegseth.

The president talked at length, and his comments should have confirmed to even the most sympathetic observer that he is, as the kids say, not okay. Several of Hegseth’s people said in advance of the senior-officer conclave that its goal was to energize America’s top military leaders and get them to focus on Hegseth’s vision for a new Department of War. But the generals and admirals should be forgiven if they walked out of the auditorium and wondered: What on earth is wrong with the commander in chief?

Trump seemed quieter and more confused than usual; he is not accustomed to audiences who do not clap and react to obvious applause lines. “I’ve never walked into a room so silent before,” he said at the outset. (Hegseth had the same awkward problem earlier, waiting for laughs and applause that never came.) The president announced his participation only days ago, and he certainly seemed unprepared.
I think that the generals and admirals all sat there in shock... "Is this the guy with his fingers on the 'Nuclear Button' our boss?"
Psychologist Dr. John Gartner suggests the former US President shows "major deterioration" in language, motor skills, and impulse control

US President Donald Trump’s droopy face and rambling speech, especially during  Charlie Kirk’s memorial, have prompted skeptics to doubt the President’s mental and physical health. Now, a psychologist has come forward claiming that Trump was indeed showing signs of dementia.

According to Dr. John Gartner, a former Johns Hopkins professor, the US President was displaying a “major deterioration” in language, motor skills, and impulse control. Dr Gartner told The Daily Beast that he arrived at the diagnosis by “ assessing someone against their own baseline.”

Dr Gartner’s diagnosis comes amid many cast doubts about Trump’s speech during the Charlie Kirk memorial, wherein he veered off topic, from memorialising his close ally to suddenly, before suddenly launching into a soliloquy on tariffs, “radical left maniacs,” and the Make America Healthy Again movement.

[...]

Gartner believes that Trump is a malignant narcissist, and his deterioration in his functioning would be a malicious combo. “So that’s what we started out [with] as a baseline, but now what we have is this chronic organic deterioration from his own baseline,” Dr Gartner said adding that what they had now was “worst of both worlds”, because Trump “was always bad, always impulsive, always a liar, but now he really is losing his ability to think clearly, to plan, to understand things and to inhibit his speech and his behavior.”

There is also a shrinkage in his psychomotor performance, which indicates  frontotemporal dementia, pointing to Trump’s “wide-based gait”.
So is Trump going the way of Reagan and Biden? And of course the MAGA crowd are in denial.
