I Write To Express Outrage!

I am writing this to express outrage at the governor... he is a bigot!
"Quite simply, your policies are killing my constituents," a U.S. Senator from Ohio wrote to CT Gov. Ned Lamont.
Michelle Tuccitto Sullo,
Patch
Sep 3, 2026

“I write to express outrage over this preventable loss of innocent life,” Moreno said, in the letter to Lamont. “If it were not for policy you championed, which allows illegal aliens to receive a ‘drive-only’ license, this young man may have reached his destination.”

“While one death alone is an inexcusable tragedy, Connecticut has granted over 60,000 such licenses to illegal aliens, putting countless Americans at risk on the roads. This insanity has to stop,” Moreno added.

Moreno wrote in the letter, “Quite simply, your policies are killing my constituents.”
A tragedy is a tragedy. But a tragedy does not automatically prove the policy you oppose caused it, nor does one person's alleged wrongdoing justify portraying 60,000 people as a threat.

This is my outrage... One out of 60,000! So, Governor, because of one person who committed this crime, you want to paint all immigrants with one brushstroke?

So, Governor, you are outraged?

You know what that shows me? It shows me that you are a xenophobe and that you are trying to stir up anger and hatred against immigrants. You are turning this woman's death into a political weapon.

That is what I find outrageous.

Dis In Death

I just found out they were trans, but from media reports, you would never know it.

Court documents reveal the jarring details of last week’s killing in Portland’s Back Cove. A newly released affidavit shows Julian, Juju, Nadeau suffered a single stab wound to the chest while walking in Portland last Wednesday.

Flowers lay at a spot under Tukey’s Bridge, where Nadeau was heading to open Pokémon cards and hang out.
Court documents detail the events leading up to last week's murder of a young adult on Portland’s Back Cove Trail.

Twenty-one-year-old Julian "Juju" Nadeau was walking with friends on the paved trail near Tukey's Bridge when police say a man on a bicycle approached the group and pulled out a knife.
Julian Nadeau held close what she loved.

Her clothes, which she wore until they were tattered. Her pins, which she collected and displayed on her backpack. Her friends and loved ones, who she hugged often.

The 21-year-old Portland resident, also known as Juju, was fatally stabbed last week while walking with friends to one of her favorite spots in the city: the colorful wall of graffiti underneath Tukey’s Bridge.
In the aftermath, initial media coverage misgendered and deadnamed Nadeau, a common macroaggression trans people face after becoming the victim of a violent crime. But for Kasper DeWitt, Juju’s partner of two years, she was so much more than a name in a headline. To her loved ones, DeWitt says, Nadeau lit up the world. She was “divine.”
For us in the community, it is doubly hard to lose a friend and have her dissed. Them goes on to write:
Her loved ones plan to honor her energy by sewing some of Nadeau’s fursuit into their own, retiring the well-loved hyena by burning it, and throwing the biggest party ever.
But the mainstream media... not a peep out of them. It is almost as if somehow she was dirty or unclean.
"Dead naming is done as a means of denying their gender identity."

On June 25, Ava Le'Ray Barrin, a 17-year-old transgender girl, was fatally shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Athens, Georgia, according to TransGriot. Ava is the 14th transgender person allegedly murdered so far in 2017. But news reports have been incorrectly identifying Ava, using what's known as her deadname. Deadnaming, unfortunately, is a common practice when transgender people are killed, and it highlights the lack of respect transgender people experience both in life and in death.

[...]

"Many trans people fear that in death their full identities will be erased, subtracted from, or diminished," Alex Schmider, a senior strategist for transgender media at GLAAD, told Teen Vogue. "We've seen this happen."
Yet still, the press continues deadnaming us!

Detransitioners

Every time I hear about research on us, I think, “Figures don't lie, but liars can figure!” Research is in the details. There was a famous study (not in a good way) that conservatives like to wave around.

The study looked at what conservatives call “Rapid-Onset Gender Dysphoria” (ROGD), and the study’s author’s hypothesis suggested that social media and peer influence could cause a sudden development of gender dysphoria in adolescents.

So how would you go about organizing the study? You would probably contact youth support groups for your research subjects. Wrong. The study’s author went to conservative parent support groups... and the parents said, right out of the blue, “My child said they were of the opposite gender!” As the media pointed out at the time, the study never contacted a single trans child. But still it is a poster child for conservatives.

So now we have a new study.
A new study, published this month in the Journal of Adolescent Health, shares data that suggests trans teens who receive gender-affirming care aren’t very likely to regret doing so down the line.

by Siân Thompson

The study uses data gathered from 445 young people diagnosed with gender dysphoria under the care of four clinics in Canada between 2012 and 2017.

The clinics were Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Diversity Clinic, IWK Trans Health Clinic at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, BC Children’s Hospital Gender Clinic, and Alberta Children’s Hospital Metta Clinic.

Of the sample group, 331 participants were assigned female at birth, and 114 were assigned male at birth. 353 underwent gender-affirming hormone therapy. Four of them later stopped hormones, and just one ceased hormone treatment and returned to identifying as their sex assigned at birth.

What they actually talked to trans children... what a novel idea!

They find that:
Gender-affirming care has been surrounded by controversies. In many places, access to GAMT [Gender-Affirming Medical Treatment], especially for AYAs [Adolescents and Young Adults], has been restricted or banned, sometimes with alleged concerns that AYAs would not stay on GAMT and that many are exposed to irreversible effects without proper consent. Although some AYAs have negative experiences with GAMT, the growing evidence is pointing to several facts: (1) continuation rates are high, including among those who started before turning 18; (2) regret is uncommon; (3) many discontinue GAMT due to barriers to access ; and (4) support plays a critical role in access and continuity of GAMT. Furthermore, it is irrefutable that a negative climate toward TGD [Transgender or Gender Diverse] AYAs and GAMT affects access to care. Thus, it is necessary to support access to high-quality gender-affirming care services, and it is important that healthcare providers assist those who want to interrupt GAMT. Specifically, a pervasive sentiment among those who discontinue GAMT is that they report feeling invalidated and are not supported or counseled when they reveal their desire to stop GAMT, despite particularly high need due to emotional demands and ambivalence that characterize these decisions. For some, discontinuation may be permanent, but for others, it may be temporary; healthcare professionals who provide GAMT should be prepared to welcome discussions when AYAs discontinue GAMT to understand the factors leading to this decision and provide adequate support for all. In other words, what AYAs may in fact need is gender-affirmation, regardless of gender identity, and regardless of continuation or discontinuation of GAMT. Finally, there is an urgent need for high-quality research, and in particular longitudinal studies, to understand the needs of AYAs who are discontinuing GAMT and provide informative directions to healthcare providers.
There are many reasons why children leave the program, but conservative studies lump them all under the “detransitioned” umbrella.

I have known many trans people who detransitioned, and not one of them did it because they were not trans. They did it because of family pressure and economic pressure. One person did it because they couldn’t find a job, so their parents said, “If you want to live in our house, you have to detransition.” Another did it because of religious pressure. And I know two who detransitioned and then retransitioned.

Conservatives want to paint a picture of how horrible we are, but the truth just doesn’t fit their narrative.

Hypocrisy?… When “Stand Your Ground” Doesn't Seem to Apply to Everyone!

NRA: “Stand Your Ground” for… Trayvon Martin’s case.
NRA: “Stand Your Ground” for… crickets when it came to Marissa Alexander.
NRA: “Stand Your Ground” for… crickets when it comes to Ríhanna Kelver.

What sets the case of Mr. Martin apart from the other two cases? Race.

When a White man shot a Black man, the NRA publicly defended the Stand Your Ground principle. But when a transgender person is attacked, knocked to the ground, and the incident is captured on video, the NRA hasn't said a thing.

Crickets!

The prosecutor in this case needs to be called into question as well. They have seen the video, yet they are proceeding with the case.
Rihanna Kelver was standing outside the Crowbar & Grill in Laramie, Wyoming, when a man began to shout homophobic and transphobic slurs at her.

A trans woman in Wyoming is facing two felony charges — aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent — after pulling out a gun on someone who had pushed her to the ground, per Slate.

Rihanna Kelver was standing outside the Crowbar & Grill in Laramie, Wyoming, when a man — whom local state news publication Cowboy State Daily identified as Scott Durham — began to shout homophobic and transphobic slurs at her. Durham later shoved Kelver to the ground with such force that she injured her tailbone, per court testimony and surveillance footage reviewed by Slate. In response, Kelver drew a pistol from her bag, put in a round and pointed the weapon at Durham, which caused him to flee. Kelver, per Slate, kept the safety on and never fired.

Despite Wyoming’s “Stand Your Ground” statute, which allows people to use reasonable force in moments of self defense, Kelver faces up to 15 years in prison for both charges, as well as up to $11,000 in fines, per Cowboy State Daily. Kelver faces an additional year and $1,000 fine for a charge of interference with a peace officer.

Per the statute, “A person who uses reasonable defensive force … shall not be criminally prosecuted for that use of reasonable defensive force.”
Why is she being prosecuted?

In other cases involving Wyoming's Stand Your Ground law, authorities have declined to prosecute. Wyoming's law establishes that a person lawfully present who is attacked has no duty to retreat before using reasonable defensive force.

And let's be clear: Ríhanna was already on the ground. She was surrounded by people after being knocked down, where exactly was she supposed to retreat to?

The judge's ruling also needs to be examined.

The Laramie Reporter reported:
On Tuesday, Albany County Circuit Court Judge Robert Sanford ruled the felonies can be tried in district court. He rejected a request from the defendant’s lawyer to dismiss the charges outright.
The charges can bring up to 15 years in jail plus fines!

Then look at the media! This is the headline from the Cowboy State Daily:
The transgender Laramie resident who protested Wyoming’s cross-sex access ban for public bathrooms at the Capitol last summer is now waging a self-defense argument in a felony assault case. “I did not go looking for confrontation,” said Rihanna Kelver.
Why lead with a protest that happened months earlier when reporting on a completely separate incident?

I asked ChatGPT to look for any public statement by a gun-rights organization supporting Ríhanna Kelver. It found:
So, as of August 8, 2026, my answer remains:
NRA: no public support I've been able to find.
NRA-ILA: no.
GOA: no.
SAF: no.
FPC: no.
Wyoming gun-rights groups: no public statement I've found.

Are gun rights only Lilly White straight folks or does the Second Amendment apply to all?

You might remember that Laramie became internationally associated with the brutal murder of Matthew Shepard. Nearly three decades later, a transgender woman in that same community is saying she was physically confronted and is now being prosecuted after displaying a firearm in self-defense.

Sadly. Things Like This Are Increasing.

The swamp creatures have gotten the green light.
Hartford Courant
By Kaitlin McCallum
July 2, 2026

A 45-year-old Manchester man has been arrested in connection with harassment of a local Islamic center after multiple abusive phone calls were received.

According to Vernon Police, Jason Biggar, 45, is accused of making multiple unsolicited phone calls “containing derogatory and offensive remarks targeting the victim and the victim’s religious beliefs.”

In an arrest warrant for Biggar, the reporting police officer recounts voice recordings allegedly of Biggar, in which the caller uses profane language to slander the victim, Muslims, Arab countries and the prophet Muhammad, and seems to imply that U.S. law allows him to do so.

“So you’re going to record it and then what happens in America? … So what are you going to do, you mother (expletive)? You’re in America. America mother (expletive). This is not a (expletive) Islamic country. … you don’t want to live by the American values. My people have been here for 300 (expletive) years. Your people have been invading here for 30, 40, 50 years … If we ever met in person I would spit right in your face,” the transcription of the recorded call reads in part.
Why? Oh why do people do these things? Where does the hate come from?
A police officer went to Biggar’s house, where Biggar refused to cooperate, the warrant said. He reportedly “refused to open his door or speak with me outside. Biggar was immediately agitated by my presence telling me to get off of his property … he denied making any calls. He then continued to yell over me as I was trying to speak,” the warrant said.
He knew that he fucked-up.

He knew that he messed up.

These incidents are mainly from the “right.” The political rhetoric and language coming from them is what is stirring the pot.

When you look at the targets of their hate, it is against minorities: racism, antisemitism, anti-Muslim sentiment, anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment—all the “-isms.” The question is: why, in the last dozen or so years, has there been a dramatic increase in bias crimes?

When you look at violence from the “left,” it seems to be more of a reaction to the hate directed at them and other minorities.

Violence is never the answer!

What seems to have broken down, though, is the social pressure against bigots. It almost seems that the actions of this administration are actually encouraging it with their language. Some of the adjectives Trump has used to describe Muslims are: “radical Islamic terrorism,” “radical Islam,” “Muslim ban” (travel restrictions), “terrorist,” and “dangerous.” They are all designed to stir up hate.

He uses similar rhetoric against us, calling us: “radical,” “crazy,” “insane,” “dangerous,” “confused,” and “extreme.”

You see the same language being parroted back by his loyal followers.

The Courant article ends with...
“Public condemnation of these acts is essential to ensuring that hatred is never normalized and that every resident can worship freely and safely,” he said.
Remember... when you hear mean, intervene!

Just Another Case Of Trump & Company Ignoring Laws

Once again the Trump adminstration ignoring laws they don't like!

Summary
  • Complaint alleges EEOC head halted LGBTQ and disparate impact discrimination cases
  • Lucas sent DEI data requests to law firms without pending investigations, complaint claims
  • Former EEOC general counsel David Lopez stresses lawyers' independent ethical obligations regardless of directives
U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Chair Andrea Lucas allegedly violated professional conduct rules of the Virginia State Bar by refusing to enforce key provisions of federal civil rights laws, according to a complaint submitted to the bar Thursday, shared ‌with Reuters.

The Legal Accountability Center, which focuses on filing complaints against individuals and institutions alleged to have violated professional conduct standards, asked the state agency to investigate whether Lucas breached her ethical obligations by directing EEOC investigators to stop processing certain categories of discrimination claims and by sending unauthorized information demands to 20 major law firms.

Those letters, sent on official EEOC letterhead in March 2025, sought extensive data on firms’ diversity, equity and inclusion practices, including demographic information related to race, sex, hiring, promotions and compensation, the complaint alleges. Since returning to the White House in January 2025, Donald Trump's administration has cracked down on diversity efforts nationwide, targeting universities, major corporations and non-profits.
So they stopped enforcing laws Trump doesn't like!
Field staff at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission say they are being pressured to bring politically charged cases, even with little evidence.
The New York Times
By Rebecca Davis O’Brien
April 27, 2026

Field staff at the federal agency that enforces civil rights laws in the workplace say they are under intense pressure from leadership to bring in cases that fit the Trump administration’s priorities, including charges of discrimination against white men and charges of antisemitism on college campuses.

That pressure has led investigators and lawyers at the agency, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, to focus its thin resources on pursuing and fast-tracking cases that have little evidence and tenuous legal bases, according to more than a dozen current and former employees, both Republicans and Democrats.

They described a deeply demoralized and fearful work force, diminished by years of attrition and a surge of resignations and retirements during the second Trump administration. Current and recently departed employees, who requested anonymity because they feared professional repercussions, said the commission’s Republican chair, Andrea Lucas, had recast the agency to carry out President Trump’s executive orders. They said they felt compelled to speak because they were concerned about the future of the agency, where many saw their work enforcing the nation’s civil rights laws as a moral calling that has now been abandoned.
She was under order to drop discrimination cases against us!
Ms. Lucas, whom Mr. Trump appointed to run the agency in 2025, has conveyed to staff that she is under pressure from the White House to produce cases the administration favors. Employees said they had been led to believe that bringing these cases was necessary to ensure the agency’s funding. This month, the White House released a budget recommending a $20 million funding increase for the commission — returning it to its 2025 level of $455 million, after a cut last year.
This is all to appease his MAGA people who think that they are being discriminated against because they are white!
Now, facing pressure to bring more cases for white men — as well as claims of discrimination against American-born workers and cases of systemic antisemitism — staff in several districts said they were struggling to find complaints with merit. And they said they were pressed by their superiors to look for reasons to keep those cases alive, even when evidence was weak.
And now the EEOC is being sued for discrimination in not going after discrimination against us!

Why? Why?

Why does the Trump administration hate us so much? They are constantly finding new ways to attack us—and now they are going after doctors for, of all things, false advertising!!!!
A series of new hires and investigations at the agency appear to focus on penalizing gender-affirming care for minors—and those who speak in favor of it.
Wired

Apr 24, 2026

The Federal Trade Commission appears to be targeting transgender rights, going beyond its usual ways of operating to do so, according to experts and federal employees who spoke to WIRED.

Since July 2025, the agency has been gearing up to frame gender-affirming care for minors as a consumer-protection issue, in a move that a former FTC employee, who spoke to WIRED on the condition of anonymity due to fear of retaliation, described as “very strange.”

“I think their end goal here is to be on the front page, being warriors for the Trump anti-trans agenda,” they claim.
Why? This is pure hatred.
“The FTC has brought lots of cases around phony cures, phony health products,” the former employee says. But those cases were targeted around issues like businesses peddling fake Covid cures. In cases where the FTC has gone after nonprofits, the former employee says, it has involved the nonprofit misappropriating donations.
Who will be the focus of all this? Doctors? Hospitals? The AMA and APA? This is a targeted attack on the trans community, and the official response from the agency to a news organization proves it:
The former FTC employee described the agency’s move to target nonprofits as “really weird” and said it was “very unusual” to hire lawyers for a specific project or case as opposed to recruiting people based on skill sets, like data protection.

In response to questions from WIRED, FTC spokesperson Joseph Simonson said, “Virtually everything you asked is based off a complete misunderstanding of the law, this agency, and the issue of whether children are potentially suffering from unnecessary mutilation. Stick to computers.”
Contrast this rhetoric with the actual medical data. On the National Institutes of Health (NIH) website, specifically in the article "Mental Health Outcomes in Transgender and Nonbinary Youths Receiving Gender-Affirming Care," published in JAMA, the evidence is clear:
Conclusions and relevance: This study found that gender-affirming medical interventions were associated with lower odds of depression and suicidality over 12 months. These data add to existing evidence suggesting that gender-affirming care may be associated with improved well-being among TNB youths over a short period, which is important given mental health disparities experienced by this population, particularly the high levels of self-harm and suicide.
All the medical evidence shows that this treatment helps us, yet it is being ignored. Instead, the administration is relying on "evidence" from far-right medical organizations. The Wired article concludes by showing this is a coordinated effort across multiple departments:
Other agencies have also targeted trans rights. In July 2025, the Department of Justice subpoenaed doctors and clinics providing gender-related care for minors. “Medical professionals and organizations that mutilated children in the service of a warped ideology will be held accountable by this Department of Justice,” then-attorney general Pam Bondi said in a statement at the time. In December 2025, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that it would bar hospitals that accept Medicare and Medicaid from performing gender-affirming care. Earlier this month, a federal judge overturned the HHS ban, writing, “This case highlights a leader’s unserious regard for the rule of law.”
Naw... tell me again how there’s "no bias" here.

The Courthouse News reports that judges are seeing through this sham.
The Justice Department issued over 20 subpoenas to clinics providing gender-affirming care after Trump called for the end of such services.
Monique Merrill
March 6, 2026

A battle over a subpoena targeting a Washington clinic that provides gender-affirming care to minors reached the Ninth Circuit on Friday, with the Trump administration arguing a judge wrongly blocked its investigation into drug manufacturers.

“It just can’t be right that the administration must choose between advocating for a policy outcome and using tools like regulatory actions and proposing legislation to achieve that outcome on the one hand, and enforcing existing laws to protect consumers within the same space where it’s engaging in policy advocacy,” said Sarah Welch, attorney with the Department of Justice.

The Justice Department issued a subpoena in June to QueerDoc, a telehealth clinic that provides gender-affirming care to adolescents and adults.

The department sought records as part of an investigation into possible violations of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by manufacturers of drugs used in gender-affirming care, including puberty blockers and hormone therapies.

[...]

In October, U.S. District Judge Jamal Whitehead quashed the subpoena, agreeing with QueerDoc that the Justice Department had weaponized its investigative authority to advance Trump’s policy goal of eliminating gender-affirming care.

[...]

But U.S. Circuit Judge Daniel Bress, a Donald Trump appointee, questioned why the Justice Department would need patient records.

The Trump administration argued that it needed complete records to verify whether the medications QueerDoc prescribed matched the insurance billing and the patient’s diagnosis.

QueerDoc contended that the Justice Department issued the subpoena under the guise of conducting an investigation but really issued it to advance Trump’s goal of ending gender-affirming care.
No way would Trump be trying to end our healthcare! (This is sarcasm.)

Biased?

We talk about biased judges but usually it for one ruling or another, but what happens when a judge blames a whole party... can they still make an impartial rulings?

What happens when it is a Supreme Court justice?
He said values in the Declaration of Independence have "fallen out of favor."
ABC News
By Devin Dwyer
April 16, 2026

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on Wednesday delivered a televised broadside against progressivism, a political philosophy he described as an existential threat to America and the principles that founded it 250 years ago.

“Progressivism seeks to replace the basic premises of the Declaration of Independence and hence our form of government,” Thomas said in a speech at the University of Texas Austin Law School pegged to the nation’s upcoming milestone birthday.

A spirit of “cynicism, rejection, hostility and animus” toward America -- by Americans -- has taken hold, Thomas said in remarks carried live on CSPAN.
I don't about you but I find this very disturbing!

Judges should not have an agenda!

Back in 2022 Justice Thomas said...
Experts told The Texas Tribune that Thomas’ opinion signals an openness from the court to reconsidering other settled legal precedents related to rights the court has ruled are protected by the constitution.
Texas Tribune
By James Barragán
June 24, 2022

Tucked inside the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling Friday that overturned the long-held constitutional protection for abortion was a concurring opinion from conservative Justice Clarence Thomas. In it, he pushed the court to revisit cases that have already been decided related to contraception and same-sex marriage.

Fueling already heightened anxieties from women and LGBTQ groups that the end of Roe could be the tip of the iceberg, Thomas wrote that “in future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents.”

“Because any substantive due process decision is ‘demonstrably erroneous,’ we have a duty to ‘correct the error’ established in those precedents,” Thomas wrote.
So what that means...
“The Supreme Court’s decision has brought us into a new era where they are taking away rights instead of giving them,” said Rocio Fierro-Pérez, political coordinator for the Texas Freedom Network, which advocates for individual liberties. “Abortion access is one of several fundamental rights that’s under attack including our right to vote, racial justice, LGBTQ rights, and they’re all intertwined with our right to liberty in which Roe v. Wade was grounded.”

Emily Berman, associate professor of law at the University of Houston Law Center, said Thomas’ opinion sends a strong message.

“He’s saying ‘This opinion doesn’t do it because people haven’t asked us to, but I think people should ask us and we should reconsider this entire area of law,’” Berman said.
It means that the right to access contraceptives, interracial marriage, marriage equality in Thomas's view all the court ruling s were wrong!

CNBC reported back then;
Key Points
  • Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas said landmark high court rulings that established gay rights and contraception rights should be reconsidered now that the federal right to abortion has been revoked.
  • Thomas wrote that those rulings “were demonstrably erroneous decisions.”
  • The cases he cited are Griswold vs. Connecticut, in which the Supreme Court said married couples have the right to obtain contraceptives; Lawerence v. Texas, which established the right to engage in private sexual acts; and Obergefell v. Hodges, which said there is a right to same-sex marriage.
  • The Supreme Court tossed out Roe v. Wade, which established abortion as a constitutional right.
That is very, very scary!

The ABC News article goes on to show more of his political bias,
Thomas, the Supreme Court’s senior conservative member, spoke broadly, not referencing specific contemporary events or political figures to make his case. But his comments come at a critical time for the sharply divided country and the Court.

He said that the values enshrined in the 1776 Declaration of Independence have “fallen out of favor” among Americans -- a trend perpetrated, he argued, by “intellectuals” and the nation’s colleges and universities.
This judge clearly has an axe to grind. He was controversial when he was appointed. You might remember that the justice didn't report that he  accepted luxury trips and gifts from billionaire Republican donor Harlan Crow.

Friendly Press

ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS... all shut out!
AP News reported that,
Pentagon reporters learned late Sunday about Hegseth’s briefing. Reporters from The Associated Press, Reuters, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel and Stars & Stripes were permitted into the briefing room, but Hegseth did not call on them. Instead, he took questions from NewsNation and Trump-friendly outlets like the Daily Caller, Daily Wire, One America News and the Christian Broadcasting Network. Most mainstream news outlets left their regular stations at the Pentagon last fall rather than agree to Hegseth’s rules restricting their work.

Hegseth denounced the “foolishness” of people wanting to know details of the operation in advance, such as whether Americans would commit to more than air power, and said the operation would continue as long as it took to achieve objections. He initially ignored NBC News’ Courtney Kube when she called out a question: “President Trump put a four-week time limit on it. Are you saying he’s wrong?”

Later, Hegseth denounced Kube for asking “the typical NBC sort of gotcha-type question. President Trump has all the latitude in the world to talk about how long it might take — four weeks, two weeks, six weeks, it could move up, it could move back. We’re going to execute at his command the objectives he set out to achieve.”

Unlike Pentagon briefings in past administrations, reporters were given assigned seats, with the Trump-friendly outlets seated in front. Jennifer Griffin, Hegseth’s former colleague at Fox News Channel who left the Pentagon with other reporters after not accepting his new rules, was seated in the last row.
It seems like only the press that kowtows to Trump get their questions answered,.

They Are Out To Get Us!

Why? What have we done to them, we are only 0.5 percent of the population! Why are they going banana’s over us?
Kansas City Star
By Matthew Kelly
February 25, 2026

Transgender Kansans are being informed on the eve of a new state law going into effect that their driver’s licenses will be considered invalid as of Thursday. “Please note that the Legislature did not include a grace period for updating credentials. That means that once the law is officially enacted, your current credentials will be invalid immediately, and you may be subject to additional penalties if you are operating a vehicle without a valid credential,” read letters mailed by the Kansas Department of Revenue’s vehicles division.
Why did this take effect the same day the law goes into effect? Why not provide a 60-day grace period? It can only be because they want to inflict pain on the community!

There are other states where you cannot change your gender markers, but no state has ever retroactively canceled IDs that already reflect a trans person’s gender identity.

The Democratic governor vetoed the bill, but…
SB 244, which Republican supermajorities in the Kansas Legislature voted last week to enact into law over Gov. Laura Kelly’s veto, will go into effect on Thursday upon the publication of the Kansas Register. The legislation provides no funding to help people who need to replace their licenses. Kansas driver’s licenses typically cost around $30. In addition to invalidating transgender residents’ state identification documents, the new law will require people in government-owned buildings to use restrooms and other multi-occupancy private spaces in accordance with their sex assigned at birth. “The persecution is the point,” said Rep. Abi Boatman, a Wichita Democrat and the only transgender member of the Legislature, who received the KDOR notice on Wednesday.
As the legislator said, this law is punitive! Here is the letter that the DOV sent out...

What does it say about the animosity that Republicans have for the trans community?

But it is not just Kansas that are passing draconian laws!
In states that once focused mainly on health care and sports for transgender minors, debates now revolve around the validity of transgender identity.
The New York Times
By Amy Harmon
Feb. 18, 2026

After a year in which the Trump administration has pressed to limit the ways Americans can identify as transgender in public life, Republicans are pushing the issue at the state level with new zeal.

With legislative sessions underway in most states, hundreds of bills restricting transgender rights are under consideration as social conservatives seek to capitalize on Trump administration tailwinds and a shift in public opinion to codify an understanding of sex and gender as binary and fixed.

[...]

Idaho’s House of Representatives this week advanced a bill that would allow people to sue private businesses that allow transgender people to use restrooms consistent with their gender identity.

In Utah, legislators are weighing removing transgender people from groups protected by a state law barring discrimination in housing and employment.

Oklahoma lawmakers are considering expanding the state’s ban on gender-transition medical treatment for minors to include adults, and a Florida House panel has advanced a bill prohibiting public sector employers from requiring workers to use the preferred pronouns of transgender co-workers.

The barrage of bills follows a six-year stretch in which 27 state legislatures controlled by Republicans focused restrictions mainly on health care and sports for transgender minors. This year’s proposals are more sweeping: They address trans adults as well as youths, seek to close loopholes in earlier laws and mandate harsher penalties for violations.
I keep asking "Why?" And I think I know the answer but I don't want hear the answer.
Supporters of transgender rights say they view this year’s state proposals as a concerted effort to chip away at protections of trans people at the state level to build support for even broader limits at a national level.

“There’s a clear pathway between the states and federal policies under this administration,” said the Rev. Jasmine Beach-Ferrara, executive director of Campaign for Southern Equality, an L.G.B.T.Q. advocacy organization based in North Carolina. “Our general analysis is that they will go as far as they think they can in enforcing what’s fundamentally a very narrow ideological position — that being transgender does not exist. That it is not a reality.”

[...]

Over the last decade, many Democrats have argued that gender identity is central to who someone is, and that excluding transgender people from sports and public accommodations is a form of discrimination. Starting in 2015, Democrats sought to amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include gender identity as a protected class.
And this was done last February and we are just finding out about it now...
The U.S. State Department has removed letters "TQ" from its official travel website, which now reads, "LGB."

Just days after President Donald Trump took office for the second time, he signed an executive order making it U.S. government policy to only recognize male and female sex. Quickly thereafter, the U.S. State Department suspended the processing of passports for applicants who selected “X” as their preferred gender. Now, the State Department has also removed the letters "TQ" from its official travel website, which now reads, "LGB."

"LGB travelers can face special challenges abroad. Laws and attitudes in some countries may affect safety and ease of travel," the website reads, closely mirroring what it did just a few weeks ago, only this time, without the recognition of transgender and queer travelers. "Many countries do not recognize same-sex marriage. Many countries also only recognize the male and female sex markers in passports and do not have IT systems at ports of entry that can accept other sex markers. About 70 countries still consider consensual same-sex relations a crime. In some of these countries, individuals who engage in same-sex sexual relations may face severe punishment."

What remains unclear — and unsettling — to transgender travelers is if the U.S. will join the "many countries" the State Department says only recognize other sex markers.
Why all the vitriol from Republicans against us? Is it only to rally their base for votes, even if they are causing irreversible harm to our community?

The ACLU is challenging the law!
Today’s lawsuit challenging SB 244 was filed in the District Court of Douglas County on behalf of anonymous Plaintiffs Daniel Doe and Matthew Moe by the American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of Kansas, and Ballard Spahr LLP. The lawsuit charges that SB 244 violates the Kansas Constitution’s protections for personal autonomy, privacy, equality under the law, due process, and freedom of speech.

“This legislation is a direct attack on the dignity and humanity of transgender Kansans,” said Monica Bennett, Legal Director of the ACLU of Kansas. “It undermines our state’s strong constitutional protections against government overreach and persecution.”

“SB 244 is a cruel and craven threat to public safety all in the name of fostering fear, division, and paranoia,” said Harper Seldin, Senior Staff Attorney for the ACLU’s LGBTQ & HIV Rights Project. “The invalidation of state-issued IDs threatens to out transgender people against their will every time they apply for a job, rent an apartment, or interact with police. Taken as a whole, SB 244 is a transparent attempt to deny transgender people autonomy over their own identities and push them out of public life altogether.”
And remember, there are only around 1,800 trans people in Kansas!

I am Just Sick & Tired

Of people saying Trump isn’t a racist: this whole “Woke” debate is just white supremacy masquerading as discrimination! Mississippi Today writes about how Trump & Company is whitewashing history.
by Jerry Mitchell
February 5, 2026

The National Park Service has removed visitor brochures from the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Home National Monument. Among the anticipated changes? No longer calling his murderer a “racist.”

Edits to the brochure have removed that reference to Byron De La Beckwith, according to Park Service officials, who asked not to be named for fear of retribution. Other edits include eliminating the reference to Medgar Evers lying in a pool of blood after being shot.

Reena Evers-Everette, executive director of the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Institute and daughter of the couple, said the family has been told the matter is under review, “but the final product has not been put out yet.”
Gone were trans people from Stonewall, slavery from Mount Vernon, and removed from the people… history being hidden or de-emphasized:
  • CDC and HHS LGBTQ+ health resources – removed from public websites
  • Department of Defense pages on Tuskegee Airmen – temporarily removed or edited
  • National Park Service materials – systemic racism and Black contributions minimized
  • Smithsonian exhibits – reviewed/edited for “divisive” content (slavery, civil rights)
  • Federal DEI webpages – content about underrepresented groups deleted or reduced
  • WhiteHouse.gov pages – LGBTQ+ rights and diversity content removed or rewritten
  • Federal flag policies, monument signage, award recognitions – minority representation reduced
And the list keeps growing!

In another article Mississippi Today reported that the park service caved it and...
Hours after Mississippi Today reported Thursday that the National Park Service had removed brochures to the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Home National Monument that identified his murderer as a racist, the Park Service returned the brochures to the home.

On Thursday, Park Service officials told Mississippi Today that the reason they removed the brochures was they were “outdated.”

The Park Service had pulled the brochures in anticipation of replacing them with a new version, which would remove the word “racist” to describe the killer, Byron De La Beckwith, according to Park Service officials, who asked not to be named for fear of retribution. Other edits include eliminating the reference to Medgar Evers lying in a pool of blood after being shot.

Medgar Evers’ niece, Hinds County Supervisor Wanda Evers, said, “You can take away the brochures, but the one thing you can’t take away is history.”
I am reminded of the quote from 1984:
“Who controls the past controls the future.
Who controls the present controls the past."

It Is Open Season On Us

Trump hates us.

They just made it nearly impossible for us to file a federal workplace discrimination complaint.
Activists and Democratic politicians are outraged.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has rescinded LGBTQ-inclusive guidance about what workplace harassment looks like and how to fight it, enraging community activists and allies.

The commission, which enforces federal antidiscrimination laws and can take employers to court, voted 2-1 Thursday to withdraw the document, which was approved in 2024, when Joe Biden was president, multiple media outlets report. It took up nearly 200 pages and included more than 70 examples of on-the-job harassment.
“Queerphobic” is the word increasingly used for bigots who hate anything LGBTQ+.
“While much of that guidance wasn’t new, one addition that rankled many conservatives was a section on gender identity and sexual orientation,” NPR reports. That was added to be in keeping with the U.S. Supreme Court’s Bostock v. Clayton County decision. The court ruled in 2020 that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, in banning sex discrimination in the workplace, also banned discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Title VII bans discrimination based on sex, and the Supreme Court has previously ruled in Price Waterhouse v. Hopkins, 490 U.S. 228 (1989), that sex discrimination also covers sexual stereotypes. Yet to many Republicans, it seems, they believe it is their right to discriminate.
EEOC Chair Andrea Lucas, appointed by Donald Trump in 2020 and named chair by him last year, had said that under her watch, the agency would not advocate for transgender and nonbinary people, in keeping with Trump’s “two sexes” executive order.
Trump wrote bigoty and ignorance into his EO! As usual, the Trump administration has a wrapped view of discrimination!
The government's antidiscrimination agency has a new focus: White men
Business Insider
By Amanda Hoover
Jan 21, 2026

Last month, Andrea Lucas, the chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, posted a video to X asking an unusual question: "Are you a white male who has experienced discrimination at work based on your race or sex?" she says to the camera. "The EEOC is committed to identifying, attacking, and eliminating all forms of race and sex discrimination — including against white male applicants and employees."

The video has been viewed nearly 6 million times, with top comments heaping praise. "This message gave me hope because I did not think this was ever possible to happen to me in America," one user wrote. The video wasn't announcing a new policy; white men have been protected from discrimination just as people of any race or gender under the law. But it capped a year of sweeping efforts to align the bipartisan, independent EEOC with President Donald Trump's culture war on "woke."
This messaging is clearly targeted at his MAGA base: “They hired a Black person over me! It must be discrimination! I’m the best!”
Now, Trump's campaign promise to fight an "anti-white feeling" in America has materialized at the EEOC. Lucas, who was installed formally as chair in November, told Reuters last month it is her goal to "shift to a conservative view of civil rights," which includes inquiries into DEI programs that the administration argues can discriminate against white men and religious liberty issues. Deborah Vagins, national campaign director of Equal Rights Advocates, a nonprofit focused on gender equity in workplaces and schools, says it's an effort underway to "remake the EEOC in Trump's image."
"Remake the EEOC in Trump's image." yes into a racist, queerphobic, xenophobic image!

“The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is supposed to protect vulnerable workers, including women, people of color, and LGBTQI+ workers, from discrimination on the job. Yet, since the start of her tenure, the EEOC Chair has consistently undermined protections for women, people of color, and LGBTQI+ workers. Now, she is taking away guidance intended to protect workers from harassment on the job, including instructions on anti-harassment policies, trainings, and complaint processes—and doing so outside of the established rulemaking process. When workers are sexually harassed, called racist slurs, or discriminated against at work, it harms our workforce and ultimately our economy. Workers can’t afford this—especially at a time of high costs, chaotic tariffs, and economic uncertainty. Women and vulnerable workers deserve so much better.”
Senator Murray's office wrote...
Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), a senior member and former Chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, released the following statement on U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Chair Andrea Lucas’s move to rescind the EEOC’s Enforcement Guidance on Harassment in the Workplace.

The comprehensive anti-harassment guidance, issued in April 2024, was the EEOC’s first update on harassment since 1999. The 2024 guidance made much-needed and long-overdue updates to better reflect Congress’s intent, including addressing online harassment, and responding to the Supreme Court’s decision in Bostock v. Clayton County recognizing that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination based on gender orientation and sexual discrimination. Senator Murray applauded the updated guidance when it was issued under the Biden administration.
But as BI went on to write,
The Supreme Court ruled last year that plaintiffs of a majority class, like white or straight people, do not have to meet a higher standard of proof than minorities to win discrimination cases, and the EEOC callout to white men could bring in more cases that were previously unreported. Legal experts I spoke to characterized the video as "clumsy," "inappropriate," and unprecedented, since the EEOC hasn't historically solicited complaints from specific protected classes over others. (The EEOC did not respond to questions I sent for this story). The shift in messaging doesn't mean that other groups are less entitled to fighting workplace discrimination. "It is a lot of shock and awe, smoke and mirrors, distraction," says Nance Schick, an employment attorney and workplace mediator. "But the law hasn't changed."
Also states like Connecticut have strong non-discrimination laws while states like Alabama, Mississippi and other states have weak non-discrimination laws.

In an article by AP News they write about a judge who ruled on Trump's adminstration trying to deport students who protested against Israel, U.S. District Judge William Young wrote in his ruling,
“The big problem in this case is that the cabinet secretaries, ostensibly and president of the United States, are not honoring the First Amendment,” said Young, an appointee of the late Republican President Ronald Reagan. “There doesn’t seem to be an understanding of what the First Amendment is by this government.”
The judge got that right!

Discriminating By Not Reporting!

You all know that the Republicans are passing draconian laws against us but the media doesn't report on the harm it is doing to us!
Why independent media matters more than ever in the face of The Washington Post's latest betrayal of journalistic integrity

As I write this from Michigan, where Planned Parenthood just announced the closure of four clinics that provide gender-affirming care, I find myself furious at the Washington Post's shameful endorsement of RFK Jr.'s anti-trans pseudoscience report focused on transgender youth and lifesaving, evidence-based gender-affirming care. This isn't just poor journalism — it's a dangerous abdication of responsibility at a moment when trans people need media allies more than ever.

The Post's editorial board, which has rightfully criticized RFK Jr.'s Department of Health and Human Services for pushing vaccine misinformation and autism conspiracy theories, seems to have suddenly developed selective blindness when it comes to transgender healthcare. They describe a 400-page screed — commissioned through an executive order declaring that transgender people don't exist — as "careful" and "thorough."

This is journalistic malpractice.
When they only cover one side that is media bias.
The Post either doesn't understand this distinction or chooses not to. Either option represents a catastrophic failure of journalism at a moment when accurate reporting could literally save lives.

For those of us covering trans issues in Michigan, watching major media outlets normalize pseudoscience feels like watching the guardrails of democracy crumble. When the paper of Watergate can't distinguish between legitimate medical consensus and politically motivated junk science, we're all in trouble.

Our trans community members are preparing for the worst — stockpiling medications, planning interstate moves, living in fear that their very existence might become illegal. They deserve better than newspapers treating their healthcare as a political football rather than a human right.
During the struggle for marriage equality the media interviewed dozens of religious leaders... but they were all from "fire and brimstone" churches, none from affirming churches. So the take-away was all churches were against marriage equality and that perpetuated the belief that all religions were against marriage equality!

Transgender news coverage surged in 2023 as lawmakers introduced a wave of anti-trans legislation, but new data shows that attention quickly dropped off—leaving much of the real-world impact on trans people underreported.

The Trans News Initiative is an interactive project that tracks five years of national coverage across more than 200 publications, analyzing how news organizations have covered transgender people.

The project—a collaboration among the Trans Journalists Association, the University of Miami School of Communication and Polygraph—reveals spikes in attention during legislative flashpoints are often followed by sharp declines, even as policies continue to reshape people’s lives.

Kae Petrin, a co-founder of the Trans Journalists Association, said the initiative grew out of years of recurring conversations with reporters and editors about gaps in coverage.
We have this image of a newspaper editor, covered in ink, editor's visor, and standing over a press, but now it is some billionaire who owns a stable of newspapers shaping the news.
“The things that really rise to the top in terms of journalists covering it consistently and repeatedly tend to be high-level, sort of ‘cancel culture’ debates,” Petrin said.

At the same time, stories that examine how laws are implemented, how people navigate new restrictions or how communities respond and adapt are far less common.

“You see a lot less coverage of the things that are actually happening to trans communities,” Petrin said. “There’s a lot less coverage… about pre-existing forms of discrimination or even just about creativity and the counter-narratives from trans people.”

Petrin emphasized that this pattern reflects a broader distinction between visibility and understanding. While newsrooms have made progress on language and terminology, deeper structural problems remain.
When I was being interviewed we were trying to tell the reporter to check the AP Stylebook for the story, the reporter got very indigent that we were trying to tell him how to do the story. But it finally sunk in that we were just saying for pronouns, etc. us the stylebook and a lot of reporters do not have a clue on interviewing trans people!

Meanwhile our healthcare is hurting! KFF (Formerly known as Kaiser Family Foundation) writes in January of last year, Trump issued "Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to The Federal Government" and it had a hard it on the wellbeing of our community!
Implications: This order is broad, directed to all federal agencies and programs. Because federal health programs reach LGBTQ+ people, and some are specifically designed to be inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community, or account for gender identities in addition to biological sex, this Order could widely affect program funding, guidance, and access. It has several possible implications:

The terms used in the Order include several biological and social inaccuracies which could perpetuate misinformation about LGBTQ+ people and transgender people’s health needs. It also takes steps towards ban gender care in certain area, most explicitly in prisons.

Requiring that federal funds are not used to “promote gender ideology” has caused significant confusion. Since this order was issued, there have been multiple reports of HIV programs and community health centers that have lost funding as a result of supporting programs inclusive of transgender people. In addition, there have been reports that some health care facilities paused providing youth with gender affirming care, fearing that federal funding would be withheld according to this and another Order relating to youth access to gender affirming care (see separate entry). (See court decisions below.) Withholding care could lead to negative health outcomes for those that require it.

Data collection and data presentation/distribution have been impacted. At first some data was removed from federal websites, though due to court order this appears to have been restored. If public health messaging and services related to the health needs of transgender people, or other specific populations, are unavailable, this may result in adverse health outcomes such increased disease prevalence, greater difficulty with care engagement, and poor mental health outcomes. There have been reports that gender identity questions will be removed from federal surveys which makes tracking the experiences and well-being of LGBTQ+ people more difficult.
They went on to write other EO and how they effect our community,
Protecting Children From Chemical and Surgical Mutilation, January 28, 2025

Implications: If fully implemented, the Order would broadly and extensively limit access to gender affirming care for young people, across a range of payers and providers. Access to gender affirming care is associated with improved mental health outcomes for transgender people and limiting this care with negative ones, including poorer mental health outcomes. Additional impact includes:

• The executive order includes details about sex, gender identity, gender affirming care, and transgender people that conflict with science and evidence. These inaccuracies include suggesting that large shares of youth are seeking gender affirming medical care, that regret rates among those seeking care are high, and conflating “female genital mutilation” and gender-affirming care. This has the potential to promote hostility, stigma, and discrimination, and can lead to care denials.

• It seeks to remove Federal reference to one of the standards of evidence-based care for transgender people in the US. Directing the HHS Secretary to develop new guidance without this standard, and in accordance with this and other orders, could limit agency ability to identify standards that adequately meet the needs of transgender people.

• It also seeks to condition federal research and education grants on grantees not providing young people with gender affirming care.

• There has already been some confusion with certain states and providers looking to preemptively comply with the order and another Order relating to “gender ideology” (see separate entry).

• The order lays groundwork for the Administration remove explicit protects for LGBTQ+ people in health care, including with respect to accessing gender affirming care. Specifically, the Order suggests a reinterpretation of sex protections in Section. 1557 of the Affordable Care Act void of explicit protections on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

• The order leans on laws and policies unrelated to gender affirming care in an effort to limit access to those services including by erroneously conflating gender affirming care and female genital mutilation, using the FDA regulatory process to limit access, and suggesting kidnapping protections be applied to parents in certain circumstance.
The Republicans don't care about the harm but rather it is about energizing their base and campaign donations! It is all about power!

I'll See You In Court

There have been a couple of new court cases filed, it is going to be a long road ahead. These are probably the first of many lawsuits, the ball is our court now!
December 24, 2025
CBS/AP

A coalition of 19 states and the District of Columbia on Tuesday sued the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, its secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and its inspector general over a declaration that could complicate access to gender-affirming care for young people.

The declaration issued last Thursday called treatments like puberty blockers, hormone therapy and surgeries unsafe and ineffective for children and adolescents experiencing gender dysphoria, or the distress when someone's gender expression doesn't match their sex assigned at birth. It also warned doctors that they could be excluded from federal health programs like Medicare and Medicaid if they provide those types of care.
Hopefully they can get an injunction to stop it until the Supreme Court hears the case!

A transgender employee of the National Security Agency is suing the Trump administration and trying to block enforcement of a presidential executive order and other policies the employee says violate federal civil rights law.

Sarah O’Neill, an NSA data scientist who is transgender, disputes the legality of President Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day executive order that required the federal government, in all operations and printed materials, to recognize only two “immutable” sexes: male and female.

The lawsuit filed Monday says Trump’s order “declares that it is the policy of the United States government to deny Ms. O’Neill’s very existence.”

The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Maryland.
A very long shot.

Parents have a constitutional right to be informed if their child changes their gender presentation at school, and schools can’t hide that information from parents, a federal judge in San Diego ruled in a class-action lawsuit.

In a 52-page decision handed down Monday night, Judge Roger Benitez ruled that parents have a constitutional right to know if their child may be transgender and that California public schools cannot in any way prevent employees from notifying parents. In a separate order, he barred them from violating that right.

The injunction bans any public school employee from misleading parents about their child’s gender presentation at school, such as by using different pronouns or names with a parent than the student uses at school. The ruling also bars employees from calling students by names or pronouns that don’t match their legal ones if their parents object.
I have a question. What happens when the teacher tells the parents that their child is trans and the father beats the crap out of the child and dies?
The state, which is defending the case, has already appealed and asked for a stay of Benitez’s decision. State attorneys said his injunction could bring significant harm to students by having schools out them without their consent.
Well yea! Father's have killed their son's because they weren't macho enough,

The newly elected mayor of New York just said,
Zohran Mamdani pledged to make NYC a safe haven for transgender residents, promising major funding for gender-affirming care and LGBTQIA+ protections

New York City is on track to become a haven for transgender residents. Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected NYC mayor, spoke about his commitment to the transgender community. The young Democrat promised to stand firmly with transgender people and make the city fully pro-trans.

Sharing a message about the future of transgender rights, he said the city will be a safe place for transgender youth. Even during his mayoral campaign, Mamdani pledged $57 million for medical centers providing gender-affirming care, and an additional $8 million to develop new and expanded resources. He said that he would turn NYC into a “LGBTQIA+ sanctuary city.”

[...]

A viral clip shows Zohran Mamdani during an interview being congratulated on his election as NYC mayor. The interviewer said, "Zaron! Congratulations on starting your transition! Thank you very much! What would you like to say to trans kids out there who might be starting their transition?"

Mamdani smiled and replied, "Well, while these may be different transitions, we're going to make this a city that doesn't just protect trans kids, but also celebrates and cherishes them."
Now from the other side of the aisle.
Memo says the policy shift, which advocates call ‘reckless’, was designed to align with one of Trump’s anti-trans orders
The Guardian
By Sam Levin in Los Angeles
Fri 5 Dec 2025

The US Department of Justice has moved to eliminate rules protecting LGBTQ+ people from sexual abuse in prisons, a shift advocates say is “reckless and dangerous” and will lead to increased assaults behind bars.

A justice department memo issued on Tuesday said “effective immediately”, prisons and jails will no longer be held responsible for violations of standards meant to shield LGBTQ+ people from harassment, abuse and rape. It also directed inspectors to stop auditing facilities for compliance with those protections. The justice department is in the process of seeking formal updates to the rules, the memo said.

The directive relates to regulations under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (Prea), a longstanding federal law which says incarcerated people should be screened for their risk of facing sexual assault when officials place them in housing and that assessments must consider LGBTQ+ status.

Prea, passed unanimously by Congress in 2003, includes standards aimed at addressing the high levels of violence that transgender, gender-nonconforming and queer people face in jails and prisons across the US. Prea applies to all correctional facilities.
When you say that you are anti-DEI what does it mean? Have you stopped for a moment and thought that through? What they are really saying is that they want to discriminate against people!

So please, please tell me how there is not difference between the parties?

Have You Noticed That...

With Trump it is always someone else's fault, it is never his! So when a judge rules against him it must be a fault of the judge. So a lesbian judge on a trans case must be biased... you know the whole alphabet thing, you know LGBT. Don't they all stick together?

A court official has dismissed a Justice Department complaint that accused a federal judge of “hostile and egregious” misconduct during hearings for a lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump’s ban on transgender troops serving in the military.

The complaint accused U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes in Washington, D.C., of inappropriately questioning a government lawyer about his religious beliefs and of trying to embarrass the attorney with a rhetorical exercise during a February hearing.

In a Sept 29 order that wasn’t made public until Monday, Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit dismissed the complaint. Srinivasan said a motion for Reyes’ recusal would have been the proper means for the Justice Department to contest her impartiality and seek her removal from the case.

Because she is a lesbian they don't think she should have the case. Hmm... I wonder if they feel the same way when a question on "religious freedom" comes up and not having a Christian hear the case?

The website Law Dork writes...
On Friday evening, Bloomberg News’s Erik Larson and Zoe Tillman reported that Chad Mizelle had filed a judicial complaint with the chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit accusing U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes of “hostile and egregious misconduct“ during the two-day hearing over the constitutionality of President Donald Trump’s anti-transgender military executive order.

[...]

The extremely weak grounds for Mizelle’s complaint are discussed at length below, but, broadly speaking, this is a clear effort to “work the refs” that should be quickly shut down as unjustified and inappropriate. It is, first, an attempt to undermine the credibility and eventual ruling from the district court judge in the case. Second, it is an effort to begin arguing the merits of the case to the chief judge of the D.C. Circuit.

Beyond that, though, Mizelle’s complaint could send a significantly more chilling message about judicial independence to judges in more right-leaning circuits — making Srinivasan’s response here all the more important.

[...]

Another part that Mizelle ignored — and perhaps more central to this complaint — is that Reyes raised the email in reference to the outside animosity that has been sent her way due to her role as the judge on the case. These directed attacks on Reyes have included Fox News’s Laura Ingraham accusing Reyes of bias because she is a lesbian hearing a case over one of Trump’s anti-transgender orders.
You know the Republicans think of us as a one large monolithic block,
Another part that Mizelle ignored — and perhaps more central to this complaint — is that Reyes raised the email in reference to the outside animosity that has been sent her way due to her role as the judge on the case. These directed attacks on Reyes have included Fox News’s Laura Ingraham accusing Reyes of bias because she is a lesbian hearing a case over one of Trump’s anti-transgender orders.
The Republicans just think that we are all alike, hopping from one bed to another and bring hyper-masculine they can't even wrap their heads around us, why anyone would give up male privilege is beyond them.

Meanwhile the Advocate writes,
Reyes, a lesbian and an immigrant from Uruguay, is hearing a case known as Talbott v. Trump, filed by six active-duty trans service members and two people who want to enlist. They are represented by GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders (GLAD Law) and the National Center for Lesbian Rights. The suit was filed January 28 in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to challenge Donald Trump’s anti-trans executive order, now being implemented by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. A second lawsuit has been filed against the military policy as well.
The lawyer from GLAD also help us and the other New England states pass their non-discrimination laws.
“You and I both agree that the greatest fighting force that world history has ever seen is not going to be impacted in any way by less than 1 percent of the soldiers using a different pronoun than others might want to call them. Would you agree with that?” Reyes asked Lynch, who responded, “No, Your Honor, I’m not. I can’t agree with that.” She also challenged GLAD Law attorney Jennifer Levi about whether discharging this small number of troops would harm readiness.

[...]

She said of Trump’s “two genders” executive order, the basis for his other anti-trans actions, “There are people who are neither male nor female, and so the premise of the executive order is just incorrect.” These actions are motivated by “unadulterated animus,” she said.
They know that they are losing... so they are fighting dirty. Or rather dirtier than usual.

You never truly appreciate your rights until a judge has to rule on your existence!
