Dream On, Dream On

When Trump doesn't like something, he lies. Polling numbers... they're fake!
The president is clearly unhappy with his standing among Americans.

President Donald Trump flew into a morning tantrum over his disastrous polling numbers.

As Trump’s approval ratings plunge to record lows, he pulled out one of his favorite defenses against humiliating poll figures: insisting they are simply made up.

“My REAL Polling Numbers, not those made up by the Fake News Media, are the best they have ever been,” the president, 80, contested in a Monday morning meltdown, pointing to “the biggest tax cuts and employment numbers EVER, the biggest outside Investment in America in World history, a totally secure Border, a giant Victory in Venezuela, the Denuclearization of Iran, unparalleled respect and success throughout the World, and much more.”
Psst, Donald, those are your real numbers... you're just dreaming.
He continued in a similar, ranty vein, “Don’t believe the Radical Left’s Fake Poll numbers. They are Crooked and Corrupt, just like the Country Destroying Dumocrats are Crooked and Corrupt. VOTE REPUBLICAN FOR GREATNESS IN AMERICA!”

[...]

Denying the obvious is part of Trump’s playbook. “He’s always going to project strength regardless what the numbers are, and he’ll say they’re fake anyway,” Douglas Heye, a veteran Republican strategist, told The New York Times over the weekend.
It is like they all live in their own little world of Peter Pan's Never-Never Land, where there are continuous reruns of "Father Knows Best." in their detachment from reality.

Primary Elections Next Week!

[Editorial]

It is election season, and who do you vote for? That is the question after the psychopath in power... our election process is geared to electing them.

With Trump, his promises held more sway than his actions from the first term. Why? People knew what he was like, but still they voted for him. Why?

The reason why is debatable, but I think the main reason for it was bigotry. Trump was against immigrants, and so were the voters. But they never questioned how he was going to do it.

"No more wars!" But the voters didn't question it. They just read his lips, not his actions.

So now we are in another election cycle and promises are being made: cut taxes, more houses, fix healthcare, lower electric bills, etc., etc., etc.

But not one of them has said how. In the old days, it was called buying a "pig in a poke"—meaning buying or accepting something without checking it first, which means you might get tricked or end up with something of low quality. And that is how our elections are becoming.

Here in Connecticut, we see the same thing, promises without substance! In the First District, there is a heated race. The incumbent of 27 years with a huge war chest is up against the former mayor of Hartford, who has the backing of money—millions! And one other candidate is a state representative who is not backed by any PACs.

The former mayor’s PACs have saturated the media with ads; the other day, I got three ads from him in the mail in one day! In all the ads, he claims he is going to generate change in Washington with a fresh vision for the future. However, no one knows how he is going to bring a new vision to Washington.

How are they going to lower the price of electricity? How, with the war in Iran driving up prices?

"I’m going to cut property taxes"—how will you make up for the loss in revenue? You either have to make drastic cuts in services! So where are they cutting? What services? Cuts to the senior center? Cuts to road repair? Cuts to education?

As the saying goes, “The devil is in the details.”

Our election system is based on attack ads. We have settled for “pie in the sky” promises. We vote because we are against the other guy. We don't care what they want to do because all we care about is defeating the other guy!

How many people do this small bit of research? How many of us have checked the candidates' voting records? How many of us voters have shrugged off our duties as voters? We vote party lines... we don't care how they voted, what they say, or what they don't say, as long as they are against the other party. That for many of us is our voting criteria... who they are against.

The candidate running against the governor—how many of us have googled his record? Or any other candidate’s record?

My vote in the primary will be for Gilchrest*. Why? I googled her, and this is what I found:
  • Background: Gilchrest has served in the Connecticut House of Representatives since 2019, representing the 18th District (West Hartford), and has a professional background as a social worker and nonprofit executive (including leading NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut). [Ballotpedia]
  • Key Issues: Her campaign centers on strong progressive policies, including Medicare for All, comprehensive healthcare reform, abortion access, and rigorous campaign finance reform to get "big money out of politics."
  • The Ground Game: While she has been heavily out-raised financially by both Larson and Bronin, Gilchrest has leaned heavily on an extensive, grassroots door-knocking strategy across the district's suburbs to build momentum. [CT Mirror]
How many people have just done that… googled the candidate?

Elections are not a spectator sport.

[/Editorial]

*Why I am voting for her in the primary:
I first met Rep. Gilchrest when she was interning for the Connecticut Education Justice and Legal Fund (now She Leads Justice). Her office—and the NARAL office—was just down the hallway from mine. Coupled with the fact that she is a graduate of the UConn School of Social Work, I have always known her to be a genuine "people person" who will put everyday residents before corporations.

1. Key Policy Focus and Votes
As a social worker by background, Gilchrest’s voting record and sponsorship history consistently align with liberal and labor-aligned priorities:
  • Healthcare & Reproductive Rights: Voted for and led efforts to expand and protect reproductive healthcare access in Connecticut, safeguarding abortion rights following federal rollbacks. She has consistently supported measures to lower healthcare costs and protect Medicaid coverage.
  • Social Services & Human Services: As the Chair of the Human Services Committee and a member of the Appropriations Committee, she has voted in favor of expanding state social safety nets, funding mental health initiatives, and supporting individuals with criminal records or those formerly incarcerated.
  • Labor & Workplace Rights: Voted in support of legislation to expand paid family and medical leave in Connecticut and strengthen protections for working families.
  • Public Health & Civil Rights: Supported landmark measures such as legislation declaring racism a public health crisis in Connecticut and laws addressing human trafficking (she serves as chair of the CT Trafficking in Persons Council).
2. Legislative Scorecards: Interest-group scorecards provide a look at how external organizations evaluate her voting behavior:
  • Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA): Business scorecards (such as the CBIA evaluation) typically score her lower on fiscal and economic regulations, reflecting her progressive stance on labor mandates and state spending.
  • Environmental and Social Advocacy Groups: She routinely receives high marks from progressive, environmental (such as the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters), and social advocacy scorecards for supporting state conservation funding and social equity bills.
How many people do this small bit of research?

Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire

It's all about headlines, not the truth. It was blasted across the front pages and led the news broadcasts. But it was all fake... designed to grab headlines. What does that say about the bill he is trying to push?

But the claim was fake... just another attempt to grab headlines.

President Survey Year Trustworthy
Barack Obama 2010 58%
George W. Bush 2006 41%
Bill Clinton 1994 46%
Donald Trump 2018 34%

He has the lowest trust rating of any president!
Officials in California, Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania all disputed the allegation.

Claim:
More than 250,000 non-U.S. citizens are registered to vote across California, Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Rating:
False

Context
The Department of Homeland Security did not provide any evidence supporting its claim, as with many other allegations of widespread voter fraud by President Donald Trump and his administration.
With a trust rating of 34%, nobody but his loyal MAGA followers, who kiss his feet, believes him anymore.
It's worth noting that the claim was about the alleged number of registrations, not number of ballots cast, and that the department used the phrase "there may be as many as" to describe its numbers. DHS provided no evidence supporting its conclusion, and Snopes could not reproduce the findings.
The percentage of those believers is about the same as the percentage of voters who support Trump in election polls.

If You Can't Win Honestly... Cheat

Trump is getting nervous. I mean really nervous, that his whole house of card could start tumbling down!
As a striking Fox News poll suggests the GOP midterm position is deteriorating, a voting rights expert walks us through what Trump is really gearing up to attempt this fall—and how to defeat it.
The New Republic
Greg Sargent
July 24, 2026

Greg Sargent: This is The Daily Blast from The New Republic, produced and presented by the DSR Network. I’m your host, Greg Sargent.

Donald Trump exploded at Senate GOP leader John Thune during a Wednesday rally, demanding that Republicans pass voter suppression legislation immediately. This prompted an angry response from Thune, which in turn triggered MAGA rage in response. It’s no accident that this comes amid new polls showing the GOP midterm position deteriorating, including in a major Fox News survey. Trump thinks voter suppression can save the party. This is all coming to a head because the House just passed something, and the pressure on the Senate is getting brutal.

This whole situation has gotten weird and complex, so to really understand it, we’re talking to the great voting rights reporter Ari Berman of Mother Jones. Ari, always good to have you on.

[...]

Sargent: So basically, what this is starting to look like is the House is passing $10 billion to use to essentially try to get states to pass by themselves, in their state legislatures, these things in the SAVE Act.

Voter suppression mechanisms like ending vote by mail, requiring proof of citizenship. You’d do all these things through the states, and the House would try and incentivize that.

Berman: Yeah, they’re basically paying states to do voter suppression. That’s the simplest way I can explain what the House is doing.
Also the clock is running out! There is only 98 days until the elections begins and many states their elections start in October.

So you know that the courts will block it saying it is too close to the elections to require everyone to get IDs. Also other states have said the requiring a passport or a birth certificate amounts to a poll tax.
Sargent: Yeah. It looks as if Donald Trump has just gotten it into his head that if he can get this passed, it saves the midterms for Republicans. He’s just simply not capable of grasping the situation at a very fundamental level, as he so often is not, right?

Berman: Number one, every time that Trump is about to lose or on the verge of losing, he starts blaming the mechanics of voting for his loss. We saw this in 2020 with mail voting. We’re seeing it again now with the SAVE America Act.

Secondly—and this is my real concern about all of this, Greg—is that I believe he’s using the SAVE America Act as a pretext to challenge the legitimacy of the midterms. So if it does not pass, which it won’t pass, he’s going to say, we don’t have the SAVE America Act, therefore the elections were rigged, therefore I have no choice but to challenge the legitimacy of the midterms. And he’s going to point to that crazy speech he gave and say, I laid out all the evidence—even though he laid out no evidence, but he’s going to say, I laid out all the evidence, the elections were rigged, the Congress didn’t act on this, therefore I have no choice but to issue a national emergency executive order, or seize voting machines, or take some kind of dramatic intervention to mess with the midterms.
I worry what Trump will do when he is boxed it and realizes the election is lost and this time he might actually be convicted and impeached.

Wins?

Trump's hand picked candidates are winning the primaries but... how do they look in November? That is the question! As you can guess in strong Republican state, they have a strong likelihood of winning in November but what about in Purple sates?
AP News

Donald Trump is on a winning streak in Republican primaries, most recently endorsing Ken Paxton ahead of his Tuesday runoff victory over Sen. John Cornyn in Texas.

The president bragged at his Cabinet meeting Wednesday that Paxton’s romp “was a prelude” for success in the November midterms. But Trump’s tightening grip on his party could make it harder to hold back Democratic advances as Republicans face a broader electorate that has soured on his second term and the economy.

The risk is compounded, Republican operatives say, by how cavalier the billionaire president has been in addressing Americans’ financial worries, which have been exacerbated by Trump’s trade roller coaster and his ongoing war against Iran. And the president gave them new material to worry about when he said concerns about November are playing no part in his negotiations with Tehran.

“They thought they were going to out-wait me. You know, ’We’ll out-wait him. He’s got the midterms,” Trump said while surrounded by top administration officials. “I don’t care about the midterms.”
Yeah but... "It is the economy, stupid!" And it is the war the people care about!
Not only are prices higher after Trump’s tariffs and his Iran war, but the president has repeatedly described affordability concerns as a “hoax.”

Trump has mused that increases in gas prices — up more than 50% in the U.S. since Trump and Israel launched attacks on Iran — amount to “peanuts.” He previously said he does not consider Americans’ personal finances “even a little bit” when mulling his options on the war.

All of that comes as Trump badgers Congress to spend $1 billion on his White House ballroom project and allocate $1.8 billion to pay restitution to people who believe they were prosecuted for political purposes — potentially including those who violently attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

It’s a cascade that Republicans in every battleground House district, Senate election or statewide contest will have to navigate in the fall.
And now Trump's adminstration is going to Congress to beg for more money to fight "Trump's War," how do you think the voter will think about paying for a war nobody wanted?

President Trump's top political advisers inside and outside of the White House are meeting Tuesday afternoon to review polling, their messaging and strategy ahead of the Nov. 3 midterms.

Why it matters: Trump's super PAC and the Republican National Committee are sitting on about $530 million, and now his team is figuring out how, when and where to deploy it.

That doesn't include what insiders say is hundreds of millions of dollars more in Trump's dark-money political nonprofit, Securing American Greatness.
The New York Times said, that Trump created what it called a "pardon industry," in which people with White House connections accepted payments from wealthy clients seeking clemency. The Times also highlighted that many beneficiaries were politically connected or wealthy.

Reuters reported...
Days before granting him a pardon in March of last year, President Donald Trump phoned Trevor Milton, an electric-vehicle entrepreneur and Republican donor who was convicted of defrauding investors of more than $660 million.

[...]

Reuters reviewed thousands of records to document a cast of characters involved in pardons or commutations granted by Trump since he returned to the presidency. Using public databases and artificial intelligence to help search, compile and analyze the records, reporters identified many of the recipients, their advocates and Trump administration insiders involved in clemency for more than 1,700 people since January 2025. The review found:
  • 96% of Trump’s second-term clemency grants have gone to recipients who didn’t fulfill longstanding DOJ guidelines for such requests. Past presidents on occasion have sidestepped those rules before. But fewer than 1% of those who received clemency during the Biden administration and just 14% of recipients in Trump’s first presidency failed to meet the guidelines.
  • Reuters identified 290 advocates, or influencers, who publicly or privately helped secure clemency for 197 recipients. Because some of the advocates worked on behalf of multiple candidates, their efforts at times overlapped, representing 624 different acts of influence. Among the influencers, 73 helped secure more than one pardon or sentence commutation. Brett Tolman, a former U.S. attorney now in private practice in Utah, has been involved in at least 12 pardons or commutations. Roger Stone, a veteran political consultant and longtime Trump confidant, had a hand in at least five.
  • Of the influencers identified by Reuters, at least 110 are known Trump allies. Eleven of those received clemency themselves from Trump during his first term. High-profile advocates and pardon recipients include Stone and Angela Stanton King, a conservative author and campaign advisor to Kennedy before he ditched his 2024 run for the presidency and backed Trump.
  • Six people familiar with recent clemency acts said intermediaries with proven access to Trump’s entourage can charge as much as $2 million for their services. Reuters, however, couldn’t establish how much each advisor it identified had charged for help with a given pardon.
Reuters went on to report,
According to Federal Election Commission records, 10 of the recipients, influencers and companies they ran – including Milton, the EV entrepreneur – donated a total of more than $10 million to Trump-related political coffers, both before and after clemency decisions. Others, including a Florida man convicted of stealing fishing gear used to trap sharks for research, benefitted when political interest groups espoused their causes.

Compared with the past, “there’s nothing other than money, praise, partisanship and relationships that dictates who gets pardons,” said Ty Cobb, a White House counsel during the first Trump administration who is now a private attorney in South Carolina.
So now all that money is making its way into the mid-terms from pardons and other dubious sources.

Pardons For Sale! Inquire Within.

Has Trump family created a new business... pardons. Donate and receive a pardon. It is being questioned by the media and Congress. Trump has refined pardons to an art form and it is raising eyebrows.

Ryan LaLone received a pardon this month for a conviction tied to tampering with diesel emissions systems. Just as importantly, so did his company.

The twin reprieves from President Donald Trump enabled LaLone to clear his name and erase a $750,000 fine for his Michigan trucking-parts shop. They also made him the beneficiary of an unprecedented expansion of White House clemency power, a move tracing back to England's King Charles II.

Since taking office for the second time, Trump has become the first modern US president to issue pardons for companies, from a Middle America auto supplier to a crypto platform and a media startup. The clemency grants have wiped out almost $200 million in financial penalties, some of which were destined for victims of wrongdoing.

The pardons underscore Trump's broader willingness to blow past the boundaries of executive authority in a second term that has been far less constrained by political and legal norms. He has granted clemency to almost 1,700 people in the past 18 months, far outpacing his predecessors, often benefiting political supporters or people who claim to be victims of legal weaponization.
But were "donations" required? Congress is looking into it.

The beneficiaries of President Donald Trump’s mercy in his second term have mostly been people with access to the president or his inner circle. Those who have followed the rules set out by the Department of Justice, meanwhile, are still waiting.

[...]

“If you’re a donor or political supporter, you move to the front of the line,” said Jim Hux, a lawyer representing a Missouri man seeking a pardon for tax crimes he committed two decades ago. He said his client has “led a model life” since finishing his sentence and fits the other criteria the Justice Department says it looks for.
Cha Ching!
Martin’s dual role was a sign that pardons had become more overt political weapons. He pledged to scrutinize Biden-era pardons and review what he described as a “weaponized” justice system. After Trump pardoned Scott Jenkins, a sheriff in Virginia and a longtime supporter convicted of taking bribes for political favors, Martin posted on X, “No MAGA left behind.”
NOTUS reported that,
At least one lobbyist-assisted person was successful in securing a Trump pardon: Joseph Schwartz, a former nursing home executive who was sentenced in April 2025 to three years in prison for his role in a $38 million tax-fraud scheme.

[...]

The day before Trump signed Schwartz’s pardon on Nov. 14, Merkava Strategies Corporation’s Josh Nass registered to lobby for Schwartz. Nass reported receiving $100,000 during the fourth quarter for work on “advocacy concerning executive clemency and post-conviction relief, including federal presidential pardon advocacy and subsequent efforts to obtain expedited parole and state-level relief in Arkansas.”
Cha Ching!

A New York lobbyist and attorney connected to a presidential pardon issued by Donald Trump in November has been charged with attempting to extort money from a former client and the client’s son over an alleged $500,000 debt.

Joshua Nass, 34, was arrested on Friday after being charged in federal court in Brooklyn with attempted Hobbs Act extortion. US justice department prosecutors contend that Nass threatened a client for payment that he claimed he was owed for his services.

Nass is alleged to have provided an unnamed individual with a phone number as well as addresses while instructing the individual to visit the client at his home. It was an effort to intimidate the client into paying up, as prosecutors put it.
A real nice guy...

When President Trump returned to power, a group of his former campaign and administration officials started a federal lobbying practice. Mo Strategies, which has registered an array of corporate clients, is now expanding into the newly lucrative world of pardons.

Business is booming.

The Trump-linked firm has signed on to lobby for the law firm Blessinger Legal in Northern Virginia for "immigration and pardon-related discussions," federal lobbying disclosures in late May show. The engagement has already yielded the firm $500,000 in income, and more work is expected, Marty Obst, president of Mo Strategies, said in an interview.
The Democrats are holding hearings on the corruption... Spokane - Review wrote;
Two Democratic members of Congress on Monday pressed the administration of President Donald Trump to retain communication records related to pardons granted to recipients including an electric-vehicle manufacturer found guilty of defrauding investors of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Senator Peter Welch, a Judiciary Committee member from Vermont, and Congressman Dave Min, an Oversight Committee member from California, made the request to determine whether “improper considerations, including quid pro quo or ‘pay-to-play’ dynamics, may have affected the clemency process,” they wrote in letters to the White House, Justice Department and ‌U.S. Secret Service.

The two lawmakers, citing coverage by Reuters and other media, in the letters reviewed by the news agency said they have been looking into the administration’s clemency efforts, which include pardons and commutations of sentences. They requested that all records be retained for 17 specific clemency recipients, including Trevor Milton, a businessman who was convicted in relation to a ‌startup he ran touting electric ‌vehicles that never became operational.

Last week a Reuters investigation found that 96% of Trump’s clemencies this term have gone to candidates, including Milton, who didn’t meet longstanding Justice Department guidelines for pardons. In response to questions from Reuters, a spokesperson for Milton criticized his conviction and said it had been ‌politically motivated by prosecutors during the ‌administration of President Joe Biden. The spokesperson didn’t respond to a question about the letters from the lawmakers.
You want to bet that they will be stonewalled by the White House? Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro from Connecticut wrote:
Pay to Play: Trump’s Record of Corruption
We are currently witnessing corruption as we have never seen before under President Trump. President Trump ran his campaign promising to fight for working— and middle-class Americans. He said he would bring costs down on Day 1. Instead, he has weaponized the office of the President to enrich himself and his family.

The Appropriations Committee is charged with making sure departments are spending taxpayer dollars wisely and following the law. My office has compiled a list of this gross display of corruption so far.

Trump’s Get Out of Jail Free Card
Multiple news outlets have reported on the Trump Administration’s practice of receiving pay in exchange for pardons or clemency for millionaire and billionaire criminals, including, for example, Trevor Milton, who was pardoned in March 2025 after pouring nearly $2 million into pro-Trump political committees in 2024.

In another case, Changpeng Zhao the founder of Binance pleaded guilty to money laundering and was subsequently pardoned last October after the company he founded took steps that effectively enriched the Trump family with hundreds of millions of dollars.

Four large players in the cryptocurrency industry—Robinhood Markets, Coinbase, Ripple, and Kraken—each made donations ranging from $1 to $5 million to Trump’s 2025 inaugural fund.

Then in the early months of the Trump Administration, these companies had Securities and Exchange Commission cases against them dismissed, and the Justice Department disbanded a crypto crimes task force.

If there is a buck to make off of the Iran war... the Trump family is right there in line.
Another company called Powerus, backed by President Trump’s two oldest sons, is selling drone interceptors to Persian Gulf countries that are under attack by Iran and thus dependent on the U.S. military that is being led by President Trump.
You know there will be a judgement day for the Trumps but only if we win in November.

A specter is haunting the country, according to President Donald Trump.

Decades after the Soviet Union collapsed, Trump is warning Americans that communism is rearing its head domestically, citing gains by self-described democratic socialists in Democratic Party strongholds.

“America will never be a communist country. Won’t happen,” Trump said in his Fourth of July speech on the National Mall, in one of the dozens of recent references he has made in recent weeks as he paints Democrats as radical in the run-up to the midterm elections.

“It’s like a cancer. You’ve got to cut it out. … Our warriors did not fight communism on battlefields across the world only to have that menace rear its ugly head right back here in America. We’re not going to let it happen,” he said.

In New York City, two democratic socialists, Darializa Avila Chevalier and Claire Valdez, won congressional nominations in the June 23 Democratic primaries, as did candidates for seven downballot offices who were backed by the Democratic Socialists of America.
Do you know why he is doing this?

Because many people mix up, or don’t know, the difference between Socialism and Communism. The word “Communism” strikes fear in many people’s minds… “Duck and cover!” “The Evil Empire!” “The Cuban Missile Crisis!”
Political experts say Trump’s rhetoric may resonate with his supporters but he is stretching the term communist far beyond its true meaning.

“Communism” evokes images of bread lines, gulags and secret police like Stalin-era USSR, Mao-era China or Castro-era Cuba.
But I would say the label applies to Trump! Um… remember the photos of the raids by ICE and CBP, with agents dressed in paramilitary gear? Do you remember the photos of ICE agents dragging out a 70-year-old man in his underwear? I would think that Trump would want to keep those images out of the news when he is calling people “communist”!

BBC News said back during the November 2025 elections: Trump says it’s “communism or common sense” after Democrat Mamdani wins NYC mayoral election. Trump and his allies have also called the Democrats “Marxist” and the “radical left!”

The question is: What is this leading up to?

Trump seems to escalate things, so we have to wonder where he is leading us. Somehow, this all sounds nefarious… as if something evil is behind it.

Has The Groundwork Been Laid?

Was last night's speech the groundwork for claims in November—acting as a pretext to justify using federal force, the military, or law enforcement to interfere with the upcoming 2026 midterm elections?

I am not the only one to question that. Senator Chris Coons of Delaware said:
“Tonight’s address from President Trump was a tantrum of sinister innuendo, conspiracy theories, and misdirection. Americans who tuned in tonight heard no new concrete or proven claims about foreign interference in our elections. There is unanimous agreement within the intelligence community that foreign adversaries did not succeed in interfering with the vote in the 2020 election. President Trump and his allies have filed dozens of lawsuits, launched countless investigations, and even sparked an insurrection to try to find voter fraud in the 2020 election. They have failed to do so every single time because none exists.

“Unfortunately, these lies are no longer about one election President Trump lost six years ago. Since retaking the White House, President Trump has moved National Guard troops into our cities, repeatedly floated the possibility of deploying ICE agents at polling locations, and said the Postal Service won’t deliver mail-in ballots in states that don’t turn over sensitive information to his administration. Tonight’s speech is his latest effort to exert partisan control over the 2026 elections because he knows Republicans can’t win on their own record.

“Should President Trump try to interfere in November’s election through illegal, un-American means, I believe he will fail. I will support every effort to defend our democracy, and I will not stop working to ensure every eligible vote will be counted.”
Congressman García said about the speech;
“Tonight’s unhinged speech is the beginning of Trump’s attempt to overthrow the 2026 midterm election and to smear and criminalize noncitizens. This is what our insecure, delusional President does: if he doesn’t like the outcome of an election, he does everything in his power to subvert it. While these debunked claims by Trump and his cronies may seem laughable, they are a dire threat to democracy in America. The January 6th insurrection showed the country and the world that Republicans in Congress lack the spine to stand up to Trump’s authoritarianism. Now is the time for communities nationwide to mobilize against a federal takeover of elections, ICE at polling sites, and Trump’s pathetic lies. Whether through filing lawsuits, educating voters, volunteering at polling sites, holding the media accountable, or other tactics, we all have a role to play in preserving our right to vote in the face of Trump’s ongoing assault on democracy.”
The BBC News wrote;
Democrats, meanwhile, accused Trump of attempting to sow doubts about the security of the upcoming November midterms which will decide control of Congress for the remainder of his presidency.

"Let's be clear - in America, voters choose their leaders, not the other way around," top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer posted on social media after the speech.

"Democrats will fight like hell to make sure every American voter can cast their ballot freely, without obstruction or interference from Donald Trump," he added.
Looking at Trump’s track record, I think they may be right... He is laying the groundwork for calling out the troops, even though doing so is strictly against the law.
  • Federal Criminal Statutes (Title 18), 18 U.S.C. § 592 (Troops at Polls): This statute makes it a federal crime—punishable by up to five years in prison—for any civil, military, or naval officer of the United States to order, bring, or keep troops or "armed men" at any polling place during an election.
  • 18 U.S.C. § 593 (Interference by Armed Forces): This statute makes it a federal crime for any member of the U.S. military to use force, threats, intimidation, or advice to prevent any qualified voter from casting their ballot, or to interfere with an election officer performing their duties.
  • 18 U.S.C. § 595 (Interference by Administrative Employees): This law prohibits any person employed in an administrative position by the federal government (which includes federal law enforcement agencies like ICE, the FBI, or DHS) from using their official authority to interfere with or affect a federal election.
But as we have seen in the past, Trump is willing to act and ignore the law. We also have the Posse Comitatus Act, which expressly limits the federal government's ability to use military personnel for domestic law enforcement.

In an Ipsos/Reuters poll, 69% of respondents said they were "very or somewhat concerned" about attempts to overturn official election results. Notice that it doesn’t say people are worried about standard election interference, but rather about overturning the election itself!

Fraud isn’t the only concern that Americans have about elections, though. In fact, all three polls found that more people are worried about disenfranchisement than fraud. In the Ipsos/Reuters poll, 57% said they were very or somewhat concerned about eligible voters being prevented from voting, and 44% of respondents to the YouGov/CBS News poll identified that as a major problem. And according to Marist, 58% of adults think it’s likely that many people will show up to vote in 2026 and be told they’re not eligible.

If nothing else, the consensus among political analysts, election experts, and lawmakers is that Trump’s speech last night has only served to increase anxiety and deepen divisions regarding the security and integrity of the upcoming elections.

Driving The Wedge!

The Republicans are driving the wedge deeper and deeper, splitting the country right down the middle!

They know what they are doing, and they don't care who they hurt as long as it gets them votes.
June 3, 2026

Republican support for marriage equality has continued to plummet with fewer than 4 in 10 saying same-sex marriages should be valid under the law, according to new polling.

The big picture: The Supreme Court signaled that its landmark decision recognizing same-sex marriage nationwide remains settled law when it turned away a long-shot challenge last year. But the lead plaintiff in the 2015 case and other LGBTQ+ advocates warn the fight is far from over.

Driving the news: While a majority of Americans still back the validity of same-sex marriages, Republican support has slipped sharply — from 55% in 2021 and 2022 to just 37%, per Gallup findings out Wednesday.
  • Two decades ago, just around 42% of Americans supported same-sex marriages according to Gallup polling, compared to 65% today. But that's down from early 2020s peaks of around 7 in 10.
  • Meanwhile, the supportive share of Republicans has slipped back to where it was in 2015.
The Republicans are following the playbook of Joseph Goebbels, the Propaganda Minister of Nazi Germany: "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."

As LGBTQ Nation reported that;
The main culprit was Republicans. Thirty-seven percent agreed that marriage equality should remain legal, while 67% of independents and 87% of Democrats agreed. When it came to the moral acceptability of homosexuality, 35% of Republicans agreed, compared to 65% of independents and 81% of Democrats.

The partisan divide was the most stark for the “changing one’s gender” question: 5% of Republicans agreed that it is morally acceptable to be transgender, compared to 42% of independents and 60% of Democrats.

The decline comes after Republicans across the country started attacking transgender equality in the early 2020s, following their electoral defeat in the 2020 elections. Rights that barely drew attention in the past – like the few trans girls participating in school sports, as they had for decades – became the center of a national conversation.
I don't know about you, but I know Pastor Martin Niemöller's poem. Trump's MAGA support comes from White Christian Nationalists, and that is the audience Trump is playing for. He is willing to trade morality for votes. He started with us, and we could see the handwriting on the wall... that marriage equality would be next.

We have seen this before, in the 1930s when Hitler used it against the Jew and gay. We have seen this with Viktor Orbán in Hungery use it against us, and new Trump is scapgoating our community just like it was done in the past. It is used in times of great economic stress, But scapgoating can only go so far, people begin to see through the lies.

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it,

See The Difference

People say there is no difference between political parties. Well I am going to prove them wrong with one sentence. A state just passed a law that mandates insurance coverage for healthcare for trans people.

You know the answer, so don't tell me there is no difference!
Bill sees movement after two-year stasis in Trenton

New Jersey lawmakers voted along party lines Monday to approve legislation aimed at protecting transgender patients and their healthcare providers, advancing the bill after nearly two years of lobbying by the trans community and its allies.

The Democratic-led bill to enshrine civil and criminal protections for those who treat and those who receive care for gender dysphoria drew hours of passionate testimony from supporters, who say the protections are essential given the Trump administration’s push to curtail access to gender-affirming care, and emotional pushback from a handful of opponents.

The measure, which would also expand protections for reproductive healthcare providers, was approved by the Senate’s health committee by a 5-2 vote.

Natalie Baker, a psychotherapist who is also parent of a transgender child, said the kinds of policies pushed by the bill “have very real impacts on families and providers.”

“Families are making difficult life decisions based on whether their children feel safe and protected. Families are paying attention to this. Providers are paying attention to this. And businesses are too,” Baker said.

According to LGBTQ advocacy group Garden State Equality, 18 states have already passed similar shield laws.

Yesterday, the Colorado General Assembly passed HB26-1322, legislation that updates Colorado’s longstanding prohibition on conversion therapy to be viewpoint-neutral, directly responding to the concerns raised by the U.S. Supreme Court in Chiles v. Salazar. The new law preserves Colorado’s ban on this discredited and harmful practice while bringing the statute into alignment with the Supreme Court’s First Amendment guidance.

[...]

Under HB26-1322, the definition of conversion therapy is amended to prohibit a licensed mental health professional from seeking to impose a predetermined outcome on a minor patient with respect to sexual orientation or gender identity, regardless of the direction of that outcome. A therapist may not steer a young person toward any predetermined identity — the prohibition applies evenhandedly. This change ensures the law regulates a category of substandard professional conduct rather than any particular viewpoint, squarely addressing the basis for the Supreme Court’s ruling.

The 101-100 vote came after the bill had been pulled from a vote in March.

After a controversial delay, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed the Fairness Act on Tuesday, just over a month after House Democratic leaders were forced to cancel a vote on the bill aimed at adding protections for LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians.

State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta’s (D-Philadelphia) second attempt to move the legislation through the chamber this year proved successful, as the bill passed by a narrow 101-100 vote.

[...]

No Republicans voted for the bill after two GOP lawmakers had supported a previous version in 2023.

Rep. Frank Burns (D-Cambria) was the only Democrat to vote against the measure. Republican Rep. Alec Ryncavage, of Luzerne County, also voted "no" after previously voting "yes" in 2023.
So you still think that there is no difference between the parties?

This November will either be heaven or hell for us.

A Death Sentence

For trans parents!

What?

Yup, a Republican candidate wants to execute parents of trans children!
Tennessee Republican Monty Fritts has been widely condemned this week after he openly called for the state to execute the parents and guardians of transgender youngsters.
The Pink News

January 30, 2026

The 62-year-old gubernatorial candidate made the shocking remarks during a guest spot on a Christian Nationalist podcast earlier this week.

A clip shared by the anti-fascist group Right-Wing Watch on Thursday (29 January) sees Fritts not only call for the state-funded execution of trans and non-binary children’s parents, but of anyone who helps to provide life-saving gender-affirming care to under-18s, such as doctors.

“I think we need a law in Tennessee that would allow for capital punishment for those who commit an assault on the sanctity of life,” he said in the 40-second clip.”I think that anyone who would try to disfigure a child through hormones or surgery, you might be eligible to capital punishment.
It is like the Republicans are playing the game of One-upmanship on who can come up with the draconian laws against us.

I'm gonna wash that man right outa my hair!

I'm gonna wash that man right outa my hair,
I'm gonna wash that man right outa my hair,
I'm gonna wash that man right outa my hair,
And send him on his way.
I'm gonna wave that man right outa my arms,
I'm gonna wave that man right outa my arms,
I'm gonna wave that man right outa my arms,
And send him on his way.

Song by Oscar Hammerstein II and Richard Rodgers

Well that is what the voters are saying.

It was almost exactly this time 20 years ago that the bottom began to fall out on George W. Bush’s approval ratings. And as Bush’s numbers in most polls fell into the 30s for the first time in late winter and early spring, the culprit was clear: the Iraq war.

History could be repeating itself with President Donald Trump in 2026. Just swap Iraq with Iran.

Three new polls released Tuesday showed Trump’s approval rating in the mid-30s: 36% in a Reuters-Ipsos poll, 35% in a Strength in Numbers-Verasight poll and 33% in an AP-NORC poll. They follow an NBC News poll over the weekend that showed Trump hitting a new low of 37%.

Over the past month now, eight of nine quality polls tracked by CNN have shown Trump in the 30s.

The only exception was a Fox News poll pegging Trump at 41%, but even that showed Trump with his worst numbers in its polls since 2017.

[...]

And perhaps more troubling for Trump, the trendline in his second term has been remarkably consistent — consistently down.
Glub... Glub... Glub!
A big reason for that appears to be views of his handling of the economy, which the Iran war — and the rising gas prices that have accompanied it — has sent to new lows.
As the Iran war goes down the tubes, Trump lashes out for anything to save him.
Reuters-Ipsos, AP-NORC and NBC polls show approval in mid-30s, with economy, Iran and immigration concerns
The Guardian
Edward Helmore
22 Apr 2026

A trio of political polls indicate public approval of Donald Trump’s management of the US economy, immigration and the Iran conflict is slipping, flashing warning lights for Trump-aligned Republican candidates with six months to go until the US midterm elections.

[...]

A Reuters-IPSOS poll published on Wednesday also found that Trump’s signature migrant deportation policies could harm Republicans in November’s congressional elections: 52% of Americans said they were less likely to support a candidate who backs Trump’s approach to deportations, significantly more than the 42% who said they were more likely to support such a candidate.

[...]

But the challenges faced by Republican candidates to defend their twin majorities in Congress are stark. The poll found that one-third of Americans believe the country is on the right track while two-thirds believe it is on the wrong track.

The economy continues to be the top issue, with 29% saying it is the issue that matters most to them right now, while 24% said threats to democracy, 12% said healthcare and 10% said crime and safety, NBC polling found.

Meanwhile, two-thirds, or 67%, said they disapprove of Trump’s handling of the war with Iran, with one-third approving. Those figures grow more stark among Democrats and independents, showing almost all Democrats and 82% of independents disapproving, but 74% of Republicans approving.
His supporters for his immigration policies all turned south with images of US citizens being shot in the back of his head!
His supporters for his promised of no more wars walked away from him with the attack on Iran!
His supporters for his promised on the economy zipped their pocketbooks!
His women supporters dropped him over abortion bans!
His over-the-top attacks on us is turning away votes!

The voters are going to wash him right out White House!

Do You Remember Catch 22?

In the Joseph Heller's 1961 novel Catch 22 do you remember it?
The Rule: A pilot can be grounded if they are insane.
The Catch: If a pilot asks to be relieved, it proves they are sane (concerned for their safety) and thus ineligible for a mental health exemption.
The Result: If he flies, he’s crazy. If he asks to stop, he’s sane, so he must keep flying.

Well, Trump and his allies are trying to create a real-life Catch-22—and it’s buried in the voting bill known as the SAVE Act. A bill that could effectively strip many of us of our right to vote.

I’ve written before about how a similar law in Kansas disenfranchised over 30,000 women—many of whom, after getting married, never updated their birth certificates. The AARP said that the SAVE Act would:
Key Takeaways:
  • A proposed federal bill would require proof of citizenship when registering to vote and photo ID at the polls, making voting tougher for many older adults
  • Millions lack easy access to passports or birth certificates, and older adults face added complications from name changes, moves or expired IDs
  • The changes could complicate mail-in voting and create new avenues for identity theft
And yet, despite all of this, Republicans continue pushing it forward and with Trump leading the charge.

And for transgender people, it creates a nightmare scenario.

Under the SAVE Act, a voter must provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship and is limited to a passport, birth certificate, or naturalization papers.

So imagine this: A trans person is born in Ohio, now lives in Connecticut, and has updated their driver’s license to reflect their correct gender. But their birth certificate still shows their old gender marker.

When they go to register or vote, what happens? Their documents don’t match.
And without a passport or a birth certifiate, they’re srewed!

People like me face another issue: an expired passport that reflects our true gender can’t be used—because it must be valid. As if your citizenship somehow expires along with your passport.

Why?

The federal government argues that your appearance or location may change over time. But that doesn’t hold up... passports do not contain your residence? And another thing, your looks can change over the 15 year life of your passport but on day one after the 15 years your photo us not valid? That doesn't make sense.

This whole  SAVE America Act is nothing more that an attempt to disenfranchise voters! And the trans community is swept up in a new Catch 22!

Mini-Save Act

Trump wants the SAVE Act to save him! He knows that he and the Republican Party are getting clobbered in the polls and losing elections even in Republican districts. They see the handwriting on the wall, and they are scared!
In the shocker of the night, Democrat Brian Nathan defeated Republican Josie Tomkow in the Senate District 14 race by 408 votes.
Florida Phoenix
By: Mitch Perry
March 24, 2026

Florida Democrats flipped two legislative seats Tuesday night in their biggest election night in years.

In the only state Senate election on the ballot, Democrat Brian Nathan, a Navy veteran, union organizer, and first-time candidate, shocked Republican state Rep. Josie Tomkow in the Hillsborough County Senate District 14 contest, winning by just 408 votes, taking 50.25% of the vote to Tomkow 49.75%.

Tomkow said she will run again for the seat in November.

The seat has been vacant since August, when Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed GOP incumbent Jay Collins to serve as his lieutenant governor.

[...]

In the Palm Beach County House District 87 race that includes Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, Democrat Emily Gregory, a first-time candidate with a public-health background, defeated Republican financial adviser Jon Maples, 51%-49%, in a district that Trump won by more than 10 points in 2024.

It’s a seat that was formerly held by Rep. Mike Caruso, one of Ron DeSantis’ closest allies in the House whom he elevated to the county clerk of the court position last summer. Caruso won the seat by 19 points in 2024.
That is why the Republicans are pushing the SAVE Act! They are scared s**tless that the Democrats will control Congress and impeach Trump!

The AARP had this to say about the act:
Key Takeaways
  • A proposed federal bill would require proof of citizenship when registering to vote and photo ID at the polls, making voting tougher for many older adults
  • Millions lack easy access to passports or birth certificates, and older adults face added complications from name changes, moves or expired IDs
  • The changes could complicate mail-in voting and create new avenues for identity theft
Older adults are a force in deciding U.S. elections.

Voters 65 and older have had the highest turnout of any age group since 1988, with 72 percent casting ballots in 2020. For the 2024 election, voters 50 and older made up 55 percent of the electorate.

But a bill that passed the House of Representatives could make it harder for U.S. citizens 50 and older to exercise these rights. The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, or SAVE America Act, would require Americans to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections, even though citizenship is already a requirement to vote. The proposal would also compel voters to show valid photo identification at the polls or submit a copy of their ID when mailing a ballot. The bill is awaiting a vote in the Senate.
The AARP is warning about the dangers of the SAVE Act!
Only a few documents, such as a U.S. passport or a birth certificate in conjunction with a valid form of photo ID, will satisfy the proposed requirements in the SAVE America Act. The Brennan Center for Justice, a nonpartisan law and policy organization, estimates that more than 21 million Americans of voting age don’t have easy access to documents that confirm citizenship. Roughly half of Americans 65 and older lack a passport, according to a YouGov survey from 2023. If your passport has expired, you will need weeks (and must pay a fee) to renew it. Older Americans who have moved often over the span of their lives, or have moved out of their homes and into nursing or assisted living facilities, may have an especially tough time gathering the required proof of eligibility.
And remember: regarding voter fraud, the Brennan Center found "...meticulously studied for voter fraud, and found incident rates between 0.0003 percent and 0.0025 percent."The SAVE Act exists for only one thing: to protect the Republican Party—even Trump said it! The Dispatch reported that,
Many pugilists in the debate over the SAVE America Act assume that a proof-of-citizenship requirement would yield a Republican electoral advantage. Trump said that the Democrats “know if we get [the SAVE America Act], they probably won’t win an election for 50 years.” Sen. Mike Lee of Utah warned that Republicans will lose power—“likely for a long time”—if Congress doesn’t pass it (although Trump won in 2016 and 2024 without the legislation, and Utah, Lee’s home state, does not require documented proof of citizenship for voter registration).
Why do they know they will win if the SAVE Act is passed? Because they already tried a "mini-SAVE Act," and it did exactly what it was supposed to do: disenfranchise voters!
As the Senate considers President Donald Trump's stringent anti-voter fraud measure, legal experts say Kansas's offers a troubling case study
By Josh Meyer
USA TODAY
Updated March 19, 2026

If you want to understand what might happen nationwide if President Donald Trump's SAVE America Act goes into effect, ask lawyer Lauren Bonds, who fought − and defeated − a similar statewide law in Kansas nearly a decade ago.

Bonds was part of a legal team that sued Kansas and its secretary of state, Kris Kobach, after they implemented a voter registration law that required proof of citizenship to register to vote, as Trump's proposal would.

A federal judge ruled that the state law was unconstitutional and violated federal election laws designed to protect people from being disenfranchised, or unfairly denied the ability to vote.

By then, though, the damage had been done. At least 31,000 people were barred from registering to vote, according to the judge’s findings, including in a key statewide election in 2014 in which incumbent Republican Gov. Sam Brownback narrowly defeated Democrat Paul Davis.
Thirty-one thousand voters denied the right to vote!!!
Bonds and other voting rights advocates said that if Republicans manage to pass the SAVE America Act, or SAVE Act for short, it could disenfranchise vast numbers of eligible voters.

"It was tens of thousands of people in Kansas," Bonds, legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas at the time, told USA TODAY. "Obviously, if you multiply that nationally, it could really deprive a bunch of people who are undoubtedly lawfully authorized to vote from being able to cast their ballot."
This entire SAVE Act is for one thing, and one thing only: to keep the Republicans in power forever and ever!

The Save Act also bans mail-in ballots!
Palm Beach County records show that Trump, 79, voted via mail ahead of this week’s special election in the state, according to reports

President Donald Trump has reportedly cast another ballot via mail, despite his constant criticism of mail-in voting.

Earlier this month, Trump, 79, voted in this week’s special election for House District 87 in Florida, which includes his Mar-a-Lago residence, CNN reported, citing Palm Beach County records.

Public records suggest that the president’s mail ballot had been counted and received by election officials in Palm Beach County, per NBC News. Trump is registered to vote in the area.

So Where Did Trump Get The Amazing Idea Of ICE In Airports?

What could possibly go wrong?

Where did the "bright idea" of putting untrained ICE agents in airports actually come from?
The LA Times
By Wyatte Grantham-Philips
March 23, 2026

  • President Trump is deploying hundreds of ICE officers to major U.S. airports to support TSA checkpoints strained by a government shutdown.
  • TSA and other Homeland Security workers have labored without pay since February, prompting many to call in sick or resign.
  • Labor unions warn that ICE’s immigration enforcement role could distract from airport security and escalate tensions with travelers.
Armed federal immigration officers in tactical gear moved through terminals at some of the busiest U.S. airports Monday, standing near security lines and checkpoints after President Trump ordered their deployment during a partial government shutdown that has disrupted air travel nationwide.

The officers were not making arrests or screening passengers. The Trump administration vaguely said they would supplement Transportation Security Administration staffing at certain airports. But after a year of intensified immigration enforcement and protests in cities across the country, their appearance at airport checkpoints has unsettled some travelers and raised new questions about how far their presence might extend.
The first thought that popped into my head was: "Why do they need tactical gear in an airport?" Talk about escalation!

So whose idea was it? Well it all seems to funnel back to a right-wing radio talk show!
A suggestion from ‘Linda from Arizona’ on The Clay and Buck Show made its way to Fox News and, soon after, into White House policy
Poynter
By: Tom Jones
March 24, 2026

On Monday, ICE agents were deployed to 14 airports throughout the country to, in theory, help ease the long lines because of a shortage of Transportation Security Administration agents. Many TSA agents have quit during this latest partial government shutdown, and thousands called out of work because they are not being paid.

[...]

So, where did President Donald Trump get the idea to send ICE into airports to help the TSA? It might have been …

Linda from Arizona.

Several media observers — including Semafor’s Ben Smith and CNN’s Brian Stelter — noted that a woman named Linda called into Clay Travis’ conservative radio show last Friday and made the suggestion to deploy ICE to airports.

Linda told “The Clay and Buck Show,” “I think I have a solution to the TSA problem. … We need to bring in ICE agents.” Travis replied, “Linda, I have to say that’s kind of a brilliant idea.”

So here’s where the story gets a little more suspect. That night, Travis appeared on Trump’s favorite network — Fox News — and passed along the idea. Less than 24 hours later, Trump announced the plan to send in ICE agents.

Now, it’s entirely possible that more folks than just Linda from Arizona had this idea, and it’s possible that some of those people work in the White House.
So it was a radio talk show caller that put armed tactical gear ICE agents in airports! And other right-wing pundits jumped on the bandwagon!

Steve Bannon suggested that President Donald Trump deployed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to major U.S. airports as part of a “test run” for using them to meddle in upcoming elections.

“We can use this as a test run, as a test case, to really perfect ICE’s involvement in the 2026 midterms,” Bannon, a close Trump ally, said on his War Room podcast Monday.

Last month, Bannon, who served as White House chief strategist during the opening months of Trump’s first term and who remains an influential figure in the current administration, urged the president to send immigration officers to voting sites during this year’s midterms.

He baselessly claimed that the tactic would prevent Democrats from “stealing” elections. In reality, the move is clearly meant to intimidate voters and poll workers and artificially influence election outcomes.

The White House and leaders of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which oversees ICE, have never definitively ruled out the tactic, even though federal law expressly bars the stationing of law enforcement officers or members of the military at polling places.
Are you scared yet? Because it looks like the groundwork is being laid to rig the elections.

But here is the "minor" fact that all of these pundits are ignoring: The Law.

Cornell Law School

Whoever, being an officer of the Army or Navy, or other person in the civil, military, or naval service of the United States, orders, brings, keeps, or has under his authority or control any troops or armed men at any place where a general or special election is held, unless such force be necessary to repel armed enemies of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both; and be disqualified from holding any office of honor, profit, or trust under the United States.
Hey Trump... 5 years! You still want to bring ICE to the polls?
