Mini-Post: What Do You Remember From Your Graduation?

A lot of fond memories? I remember best my graduation ceremonies for my MSW... the first time I walked across the stage as Diana!

But just think of this high graduation class... they are going to remember for the rest of their lives this ICE raid and their fellow student. Yup ICE raided a high school graduate just days before the ceremonies!

The graduation for Maloney High School in Meriden is on Tuesday evening, but one student will be absent after ICE took that student into custody last week.

Just days before their high school graduation, the student was taken into ICE custody during an immigration hearing in Hartford.

Gov. Ned Lamont (D-Conn.) said he’s concerned about how federal agents are operating in our state.

How crass was that?

It had to be designed to inflict the greatest emotional harm! The family all eager for their son's graduation and then they get blind sided by ICE. It not only hit the family are hard but also the city and the other students. The raid had to be design to inflict the greatest emotional distress on the community.

What do I remember about my graduation? Well now I was hoping to get the damn thing over with. I hated school can't remember much about what I liked and was so glad that when it was over it was over. Now this was in 1966 so things were just starting to heat up and in a small New England town it was squaresville. I left within the week for NYC. Concerning what happend at Maloney High School the fingers and nails of the fascists reach everywhere. Why is anyone surprised that they would take a kid before he was to graduate? After all fascists smashed Jewish babies, rounded up and killed children and before doing so passed all sorts of laws against them. What we see here is just one of the steps of the fascists to the final solution. No surprise from this OurStorian.
