AP NewsBy TARA COPPMay 5, 2025Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Monday directed the active duty military to shed 20% of its four-star general officers as the Trump administration moves forward with deep cuts that it says will promote efficiency but that critics worry could result in a more politicized force.Hegseth also told the National Guard to shed 20% of its top positions and directed the military to cut an additional 10% of its general and flag officers across the force, which could include any one-star or above or officer of equivalent Navy rank. The cuts are on top of more than a half-dozen top general officers that President Donald Trump or Hegseth have fired since January, including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. CQ Brown Jr. They also have fired the only two women serving as four-star officers, as well as a disproportionate number of other senior female officers.
He has fired many women officers in his misogynistic goal of getting women out of combat roles. But worst still is...
In the earlier rounds of firing, Hegseth said the eliminations were “a reflection of the president wanting the right people around him to execute the national security approach we want to take.”
He only wants "boot-lickers" that are loyal to Trump, not the Constitution. The Washington Post reported that,
Speaking to troops at the Army War College, Hegseth touted changes he said were necessary to bring the military in line with President Donald Trump’s “America First” agenda, including an end to diversity initiatives, an overhaul of personnel regulations and an intensified campaign against Iran-linked militants in Yemen. He also mounted a pointed counterattack at a moment when his judgment is under scrutiny over his handling of sensitive information, his abrupt firing of a spate of experienced officers, and upheaval among his closest aides.[...]“That means no more social engineering. No more climate change worship. No more electric tanks. No more gender confusion. No more pronouns. No more excuses. No more quotas. No more woke bullshit that undermines commanders and command climates,” he said. “We are laser-focused on our mission of war-fighting.”
But those all lies! There never was a quote system! What he wants is a Christian military that is loyal to Trump.
A bipartisan group of House lawmakers is petitioning Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for more transparency in any future decisions involving the dismissal of senior uniformed leaders, saying the process must avoid political undertones to preserve the sanctity of the military. In a letter to Hegseth on Friday, the representatives asked for details on the process by which any general or flag officers are being evaluated for removal, what factors will be considered and legal justification for such moves.[...]The letter was signed by Republican Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska and Democratic Reps. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Jason Crow of Colorado, Mikie Sherill of New Jersey and Jared Golden of Maine. All of the signers are members of the House Armed Services Committee.
They are concerned over,
The message was prompted by rumors this week that Hegseth is moving to fire multiple senior military leaders because of concerns about their lack of loyalty to President Donald Trump. Lists of possible targets being circulated in news reports include Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. CQ Brown, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George.[...]The lawmakers said in their letter that keeping the military apolitical is “an essential component of our democracy and national security.”
And since them... more political firings!
They are worried, I am worried that the next time Trump stages a coup... he will have the military backing him!
