Chris Hayes opened Tuesday’s episode of his MSNBC show with a bleak look at President Donald Trump’s latest attacks on “our American birthright of a free and open society,” including against independent universities, real science and the free press.

But despite recent events, Hayes argued that there is a “real silver lining” — that these institutions are being forced to fight him.

Hayes began by talking about Trump’s escalating war on Harvard University, which as Hayes explained, has seen the president mount a campaign to “put Harvard University, the nation’s oldest college, out of business.” This most recently includes his order to cancel all federal contracts with the university, an unprecedented move that was preceded by the equally unprecedented order to cease all foreign student admissions.

But I don't want to write about that, what I want to write about this afternoon are the comments on Yahoo about this article. The comments show the bitterness the people who commented have for education and liberals'.

• Yeah i agree time for the left to byte the curb and watch them c ry in payne
• Here is what is the biggest problem that we have in this country folks.  Gomers that still believe all of the "gigantic piles of smelly stuff" being put out by the Democratic Party.  I can't believe there are that many ignorant and uneducated people still out there.
• Just another public school educated lib who got  his feelings hurt.
• I hope the Democrats keep "going forward" with their current path of lies, distortions, signs, songs, swearing, and just plain Gomer/child like tactics. Their approval rating keeps dropping and Trumps keeps going up.
• Thanks to the Trump cuts we no longer have DEI groups attending our hotel talking nonsense
• And for these "American Institutions", win or lose, their fighting back will finally expose the public to their racism, bias, un-American indoctrination.  And for you die-hard liberals, you will find in similar manner, the more Americans hear the out of touch, Anti-American speech of people like AOC, Crockett and Omar, the more distanced moderate liberal voters will become from the DNC.  Sowing the seeds of their own demise.  Brilliant ...

My question is why do they have vitriol against education and liberals? That is the scary part, their anger!

What is the basis for it? Is it because of the rhetoric coming out of the Republican party?

I picked the name of this post because we as a world is turning in to a dystopian world. In a follow up I asked ChatGPT some questions about how were compare to the dystopian novels "A Brave New World," "!984," and its "conversation" is posted in a blog just after this post.
