Mini-Post: If You Don't Support Us...

... We don't want you to march in our parade!

The city’s LGBTQIA+ Commission has barred the Community Health Center from participating in this year’s Pride Fest because it says the center no longer provides transgender-affirming care to those under 19.

The center did not return multiple requests for comment on its care.

The main office of the federally qualified care provider, with locations throughout Connecticut, is on Main Street in Middletown.

Commissioner Brianna Skowera, also the city’s director of information systems, told members during the Feb. 19 meeting the agency is no longer offering such care, according to the minutes.

This week, she said families with transgender youth told her centers throughout the state cut off care without notice.

"It would be inappropriate for them to participate,” Skowera said.

The commission approved a motion on the matter prohibiting CHC from participating in Middletown PrideFEST "in any way, including marching, vending, and sponsoring,” the meeting minutes say.
Good for you!

Now what about getting a senior and disabled bus for the parade so that they can also take part in the Pride Parade?

I am sure that you can find some bus company to donate a trolley for the parade for the Stonewall generation!
