A Potpourri Of Hatchet Jobs.

Trump & Company are out there with their axes chopping away to destroy our country!

Case #1
The privatizing of Amtrak! The Republicans hate Amtrak and want to sell it off to the highest bidder!

Now, Amtrak doesn't have a transatlantic tunnel in the works that could link UK and America in 54 minutes... However, there are other advancements being made.

[...]

Despite its advancements, funding and ridership records, Elon Musk thinks it is time to privatize Amtrak. We'll take a look back at his comments, and how Amtrak responded on Instagram. We're also going to take a look at Amtrak's future plans, along with its current private funding partnerships.
Of course Musk's billionaires want to milk it dry of the equity like they did with privatized hospital strip them of everything they can sell off and then walk away, they will do the same thing with Amtrak.

Case #2
The stripping of FEMA
The National Fire Academy, the country's preeminent federal fire training academy, has canceled classes effective immediately amid the ongoing flurry of funding freezes and staffing cuts by President Donald Trump’s administration

The country's preeminent federal fire training academy canceled classes, effective immediately, on Saturday amid the ongoing flurry of funding freezes and staffing cuts by President Donald Trump's administration.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that National Fire Academy courses were canceled amid a “process of evaluating agency programs and spending to ensure alignment with Administration priorities,” according to a notice sent to instructors, students and fire departments. Instructors were told to cancel all future travel until further notice.
These people are sickos!
For firefighters, including those on the frontlines of deadly fires that ravaged California this year, having an essential training institution “shut down under the presumption that there’s waste, fraud and abuse” has been demoralizing, Bashoor said. He said losing NFA training could make the coordinated response that prevented additional deaths and destruction in California more difficult.

While surveying disaster zones in California in January, Trump said he was considering “getting rid of” FEMA altogether, previewing sweeping changes to the nation's central organization of responding to disasters.
We saw what Trump did with people he hates... Latinos. He delayed relief fund to Puerto Rico when hurricane Florence.

Case #3
Looking the other way when laws are broken.

One morning in late August 2021, Phebe Brandt was attending to patients at a Planned Parenthood facility in Philadelphia, where she works as a nurse practitioner, when someone at the front desk told her a man had barricaded himself in one of the bathrooms.

[...]

The man holed up in the bathroom was Matthew Connolly, an anti-abortion rights activist from Minnesota. He wasn't armed, but court papers say he refused to leave even after the police arrived. Eventually, a SWAT team broke down the door and removed him from the premises.

Connolly's actions forced the clinic to shut down for the day. Patients who were mid-visit were sent home; those with appointments later in the day were told not to come in.

[...]

The lawsuit was one of several the Justice Department brought during the Biden administration as it sought to protect access to reproductive health care.

In the past six weeks, the Trump administration has moved to undo all of that.

The Justice Department's new leaders say past enforcement of the FACE Act is "the prototypical example" of what they say is the weaponization of law enforcement against conservatives.

[...]

The department also has dropped three pending FACE Act cases, including the one against Connolly. President Trump, meanwhile, pardoned 23 people convicted under the FACE Act.
Let's see... translating it from Newspeak: so prosecuting someone for braking the law is somehow "weaponization of law enforcement against conservatives" that is the twisted logic of the Republicans Newspeak from right out of "1984"!

This is right out of Project 2025 to gut Social Security!

Millions of Americans could soon feel the impact of the deep staffing cuts being planned at the Social Security Administration, which is undergoing a massive reorganization that the acting commissioner has acknowledged is being steered by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.

The loss of experienced employees who manage Social Security’s fragile and interdependent web of computer systems will likely leave the agency vulnerable to technical outages and, potentially, interrupt the benefit payments that are sent to more than 73 million retirees, people with disabilities and others, Martin O’Malley, who served as commissioner under the Biden administration, told CNN.

The former Maryland governor predicted a meltdown could occur within 90 days, though other employees and experts were unsure of the timing even as they agreed the risk exists.

[...]

The agency’s overhaul is being led by acting commissioner Leland Dudek, though he has admitted that he’s not the one actually making the decisions, according to an attendee at a nearly two-hour meeting Dudek held with staffers, legal aid attorneys and other advocates earlier this week.

“People are coming in from the outside. They’re unfamiliar with the nuances of our agency,” the attendee said Dudek responded when asked who is in charge. “It’s DOGE – not the DOGE kids, it’s the DOGE management.”

From the man who called veterans bunch of losers (That is what Trump called the fallen soldiers at cemeteries in France as “losers” and “suckers.”)...

The Department of Veterans Affairs is planning a reorganization that includes cutting over 80,000 jobs from the sprawling agency that provides health care and other services for millions of veterans, according to an internal memo obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press.

The VA’s chief of staff, Christopher Syrek, told top-level officials at the agency Tuesday that it had an objective to cut enough employees to return to 2019 staffing levels of just under 400,000. That would require terminating tens of thousands of employees after the VA expanded during the Biden administration, as well as to cover veterans impacted by burn pits under the 2022 PACT Act.

The memo instructs top-level staff to prepare for an agency-wide reorganization in August to “resize and tailor the workforce to the mission and revised structure.” It also calls for agency officials to work with the White House’s Department of Government Efficiency to “move out aggressively, while taking a pragmatic and disciplined approach” to the Trump administration’s goals. Government Executive first reported on the internal memo.
Trump & Company despise veterans!

Meanwhile: All the MAGA people are jumping up and down for joy, it hasn't sunk in to their brains yet that Trump stabbed them in the back.

Welcome to the new oligarchs' Brave New World"
