Not All Celebrities Are Behind Us.

We all know that the author of the Harry Potter series J. K. Rowling is transphobic but added to that list over the weekend…
KISS’s Paul Stanley and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider both made very transphobic remarks on Twitter over the weekend.

Paul Stanley has spent the better part of his 71 years on Earth wearing makeup and high heels, but the KISS co-founder believes that affirming children’s gender identity is a “dangerous fad.”

This is according to unsolicited “thoughts” the rocker shared on Twitter Sunday.

The singer and guitarist posted a statement titled “My Thoughts On What I’m Seeing,” which got attention for its bigotry and hypocrisy. He also seems to have gotten sexual orientation and gender identity confused.

“There is a BIG difference between teaching acceptance and normalizing and even encouraging participation in a lifestyle that confuses young children into questioning their sexual identification as though some sort of game and then parents in some cases allow it,” he wrote.
Ding, ding, ding, ding… “lifestyle!” These people still think that it is a choice!
Republicans have spent recent years demonizing gender-affirming care for children, leading to at least 15 GOP-controlled states banning what major medical associations agree is necessary health care for gender-diverse youth. Missouri Republicans banned this care for adults and minors alike. The bans from previous years on care are currently blocked by courts.

Online, people were quick to note that KISS released and performed the 1977 song called “Christine Sixteen” in which the adult singers lament their attraction to a teenage girl they have to have, according to the lyrics.

Dee Snider, 68, the former Twisted Sister frontman, endorsed Stanley’s message.
Their bigotry and phobias are coming out in open. They made millions off a very diverse fans but now they are sticking it to a part of their fan base.
After some Snider fans questioned why he contributed to anti-LGBTQ+ bigotry, he dismissed the community.

“Am I losing a hero here?” a Twitter user asked.

“Apparently so. I guess I’ll just need to turn in my LGBTQIA+ membership card…oh wait! I’m gonna need it in a big way TBA,” Snider replied.

Snider and Stanely spent decades making millions of dollars by applying makeup to their faces and wearing what many would consider traditionally women’s clothing and shoewear as they sang and danced and gyrated onstage with their respective bands.
Okay fans… bend over.

Recently, Xena actor Lucy Lawless slammed Supergirl star Kevin Sorbo for his transphobic comments. Sorbo had made a statement on social media where he claimed that trans people were mentally ill and that allowing them to use the bathroom of their choice would lead to chaos. Lawless was quick to call out Sorbo for his ignorance and insensitivity.

Lucy Lawless was quick to shut down Kevin Sorbo
Lawless’ response to Sorbo’s comments is particularly significant because it sheds light on the ongoing issue of transphobia in our society. Despite the progress that has been made toward LGBTQ+ rights and equality in recent years, transgender people still face a great deal of discrimination and intolerance.
Don’t forget Nicole Maines played Nia Nal, who was Dreamer on Supergirl along side Kevin Sorbo.

Each year, the Met Gala is an opportunity for the biggest stars to share their best eye-catching looks, but it’s also a platform to share crucial statements of equality – like actor Tommy Dorfman’s ‘Protect Trans Kids’ bag at last year’s event.

This year, Dwyane Wade spent time on the red carpet promoting acceptance for trans youth, and underlining the harrowing reality of what happens when young trans people are abandoned.

Asked by a Variety reporter what message he would like to send to Florida governor Ron DeSantis, who is currently pushing forward with a string of anti-trans policies, Wade said: “I don’t know him. But I do know men lie, women lie, but numbers don’t.

“I do know that when our children feel accepted, that 43 per cent of our children that feel accepted, from their parents, from the world, it lowers the death rate.”

[...]

Continuing his powerful statement, Wade added: “Suicide is high in the trans community. It’s high in youth and so I’m going to step on the side of acceptance and I’m not going to even go on the other side. I’m going to focus on acceptance.

“Let’s make sure our kids have an opportunity to live this life that we all get to live.”
Amen.

In a statement posted on Twitter on 30 April, Stanley criticised gender-affirming healthcare for trans youth, saying it had become “a sad and dangerous fad”.

The post was widely condemned, including by The Offspring guitarist Kevin Wasserman, who said it was “a very disappointing take, especially from someone who wore high heels, makeup and teased up hair his whole career”.

Wasserman – who is also known by the stage name Noodles – added: “As a young kid, your band helped teach me that I could be whatever I wanted to be. I guess it was just gimmickry after all.”

But Stanley now seems to have had second thoughts.

In a tweet posted on 4 May, he wrote: “While my thoughts were clear, my words clearly were not.

“Most importantly and above all else, I support those struggling with their sexual identity while enduring constant hostility, and those whose path leads them to reassignment surgery. It’s hard to fathom the kind of conviction that one must feel to takes those steps.
I am always a little leery of apologies or “correction” made after an outcry, I have to wonder if it is sincere or it is to deflect the outcry and anger.
