A Big Mistake, What Not To Do.

Bud Lite is no more, it is now Bud F***ed.

You all have probably know by now the backlash to the backlash has hit. Now nobody likes them. When they had the ad with Dylan Mulvaney the conservative shot up their beer and we were going out to buy Bud… this Bud is for us!

Then Bud caved. The liberals said we are not buying that beer again and the conservatives continued to shoot up their Buds. And Bud is screwed and no one wants to buy their beer.

And now…

As companies continue to face backlash from far-right critics over LGBTQ outreach, the Los Angeles Dodgers uninvited a charity that uses religious-themed drag from its Pride Night following criticism from some Catholics—and the decision has outraged the baseball team’s other LGBTQ partner groups, some of whom are pulling out of participating in the event.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence launched in San Francisco on Easter Sunday in 1979 and states its mission is “community service, ministry and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment.” The Sisters reportedly raised more than $1 million for LGBTQ causes in San Francisco alone in its first three decades of operation. The Sisters have previously been the target of controversy and anti-Catholic accusations, including among San Francisco clergy members who have condemned their portrayals of religious figures. The Sisters also led Reno, Nevada’s first Pride Parade in 1999, but then Gov. Kenny Guinn (R-Nev.) said he had heard complaints about the group and refused to sign a proclamation for the parade. In another instance, The Catholic Voice cited in its complaint to the Dodgers, two members of the Sisters received communion from a San Francisco archbishop in 2007. The archbishop did not initially identify them as members of the Sisters, but later condemned them for “mocking the Catholic Church in general and religious women in particular.” The Sisters have pushed back on accusations they are anti-religion. “The Sisters are not anti-Catholic, but an organization based on love, acceptance and celebrating human diversity,” the group’s president, Sister Rosie, wrote in a statement.
I have to admit I think that it was a bad choice to one, in this charged environment having Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence was a bad choice and two, it was a mistake to pull out of Pride night. They did the same thing as Bud, got everyone mad off at them. Before they had the Catholic Church and the right-wing mad at them and now it is also us.

Lets face it, businesses are running scared.
Several NHL players and teams have elected not to wear Pride jerseys this season after originally deciding to do so

There's been a trend this NHL season that has nothing to do with the sport's on-ice product. Several teams have announced plans to hold Pride Nights, during which players wear jerseys celebrating the LGBTQ+ community either during warmups or games -- or both.

But many of those plans have been scraped by teams after being made public. The most recent example came on March 7, when Minnesota Wild players chose to not wear special Pride Night jerseys that had been designed.
Florida is also a bit player in this backlash, BBC  reports that,
"We as business owners feel disgusted and betrayed by the governor's proposed taxes and rhetoric," he says, adding that his only political goal is to have "peace, quiet, harmony and not to be attacked".

Mr Schussler is the kind of businessman who might naturally be a Republican - in favour of small, less intrusive government, reasonable taxes and limited regulation. He's once donated money to a Republican senator's campaign and features a quote from Donald Trump on the back cover of his autobiography.

Now he bristles at allegations that he's siding with Disney as part of a woke liberal agenda.

"How is it a liberal agenda to not want to be overtaxed?" he asks. "To not want to be threatened with having a prison build adjacent to your land? How is it an agenda to not want your employees and guests to have to pay special fees?"
Believe me when I say the businesses and sports teams are watching this very closely and trying to see which way the wind is blowing.

My guess is that you are going to see Pride Night vanish as teams get nervous over supporting us. Also businesses are watching Disney and other companies are they get caught between Title VII and Republican states banning diversity training. All it is going to take is a discrimination law suit or a law suit that sues the company for diversity training.

I picture in the future a company located in Florida being sued under the WOKE law for diversity training and at the sued under the federal Title VII for discrimination. And that will scare the pants off a company… Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

I wrote the post this morning and since then I found this article...

The Los Angeles Dodgers have re-invited The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to the team’s Pride Night following a public outcry after the Dodgers rescinded the activist organization’s initial invitation to the event.

“After much thoughtful feedback from our diverse communities, honest conversations with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and generous discussions with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the Los Angeles Dodgers would like to offer our sincerest apologies to the [Sisters], members of the LGBTQ+ community and their friends and families,” the team said in a statement, adding that the group has “agreed to receive the gratitude of our collective of our collective communities for the lifesaving work that they have done tirelessly for decades.”

Following conservative backlash — bolstered by Sen. Marco Rubio’s plea that “drag queen performers should NOT be celebrated for their disgraceful imitation of Roman Catholic nuns” — the Dodgers said in a statement on May 17 that the inclusion of the Sisters in Pride Night had been “the source of some controversy.” The statement continued, “Given the strong feelings of people who have been offended by the sisters’ inclusion in our evening, and in an effort not to distract from the great benefits that we have seen over the years of Pride Night, we are deciding to remove them from this year’s group of honorees.”

[…]

After the Sisters were removed from the Dodgers’ Pride Night, LA Pride dropped out of the event in solidarity, writing, “Pride is a fight for equality and inclusion for the entire LGBTQ community and we’re not going to stop now.” At the time, the Sisters wrote that they were “offended and outraged” by the team’s decision to rescind their invitation and succumb to “pressure” and “misleading information.”

The Sisters, a longstanding San Francisco drag performance group protesting hate and satirizing Catholicism with queer and trans “nuns,” wrote in their own statement that they are “proud to accept the Community Hero Award from the Los Angeles Dodgers.”

The Sisters’ statement, posted to Facebook, adds, “A full apology and explanation was given to us by the Dodgers staff which we accept… Our group has been strengthened, protected and uplifted to a position where we may now offer our message of hope and joy to far more people than before.”
