I Didn’t Know.

And that is how it should be. Jeopardy had another trans contestant!

Hannah Wilson grew up in North Berkeley, watching “Jeopardy!” with her parents on a small TV set by the dining room table.

Now that Wilson is 34, the seeds that were planted during those mealtime trivia sessions have blossomed. Her recent eight-game winning streak on the ever-popular quiz show captivated viewers, and it took the return of another “Jeopardy!” champion, in an episode broadcast on Monday, May 15, to put an end to her reign.

Wilson, a data scientist, seems to be only mildly disappointed over her loss, which was taped in March. Her winnings over the course of her run totaled $229,801, and she’ll return later this year for the show’s “Tournament of Champions.”

Wilson spoke with The Chronicle by phone from her home in Chicago, where she’s lived for 17 years, about her success on the show, her Bay Area roots and the experience of being a publicly visible transgender woman.
I like that I didn’t see anything her being trans, it was never pointed out on the show, it wasn’t all over the internet and now it is just starting to pop up on it.

JEOPARDY! contestant Hannah Wilson has broken her silence about her loss to Ben Chan.

Hannah took to social media to discuss how she felt about losing to returning champion, Ben Chan on Monday night's game.

She shared her response on a popular Jeopardy! Reddit thread: "Looks like the spiky blue shell finally caught up to me."

The star continued: "I couldn't ask for a better opponent to get utterly thrashed by! Ben was so sweet and friendly before the game and then just a complete beast on the stage."

"He's an amazing player and it's an hour to have him be the one to knock me out. Being on Jeopardy has been an incredible experience, and I cant wait to come back for the [Tourament of Champions]!"

In response, Ben dedicated a tweet to his opponents: "I do feel bad that my bad luck also was bad luck for Hannah and Wendy.
She got class! Accepting her defeat in grace.

And the article never mentioned that she is trans, it was just about her loosing. In another Sun article it is only mentioned,
Hannah Wilson is a transgender woman and data scientist from Chicago, Illinois.
The rest of the article was about her loss.

Amy Schneider mentioned it on Twitter...
Huge congratulations to Hannah Wilson!!! Welcome to the Guild of Jeopardy Champion Trans Women, one of us will be in contact shortly to explain the secret handshake and so forth.
