Fascists

Most people have only a vague idea what fascism is so I will turn to the Merriam-Webster dictionary
1
often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2
: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control
Notice: “forcible suppression of opposition”
Right-wing commentators Michael Knowles and Matt Walsh have admitted that conservatives’ calls to boycott brands over inclusivity are intended to persuade brands to end support for LGBTQ+ people by turning Pride collaborations “toxic”.

Last week, Walsh tweeted: “The goal is to make Pride toxic for brands. If they decide to shove this garbage in our face, they should know that they’ll pay a price.

“It won’t be worth whatever they think they’ll gain. First Bud Light and now Target. Our campaign is making progress. Let’s keep it going.”
Businesses are running scared and are pulling their support of us, they are our fair weather friends… as long as they think they can make a buck off of us they are supporters but as soon as the weather changes they toss us aside.
An increasing number of brands have faced a backlash from conservatives who have attempted to orchestrate boycotts.

Stores such as Target have been criticised for “caving” to right-wing attacks, after it was forced to pull and rearrange the placement of some of its Pride products following anti-LGBTQ+ pressure.
These people want to force us back in the closet, they are the oppressors. There is a difference between boycotts for human rights or discrimination and boycotts to suppress a commuinty. These people are like the Brownshirts of the 1930s.

They are even going one of their own!
And it's not even Pride month yet.

There are early signs that Chick-fil-A could become the latest target of a potential boycott campaign.

Fresh off of their successful boycotts against Bud Light  (BUD) - Get Free Report and Target,  (TGT) - Get Free Report some of the louder voices on the far-right side of social media are now targeting Chick-fil-A, the conservative-leaning fast food chain that is famously closed on Sundays in honor of the Christian day of rest.

Twitter user Joey Mannarino pointed out in a tweet on May 30 that Chick-fil-A could be added to the boycott list, as the company has "just hired a VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion".
So what they got them into a tizzy was giving diversity training! How sick is that!

What 5 ridiculous "woke food" boycotts can tell us about the GOP's culture war

These days, it feels like at least once a week a mainstream company comes out with a new product or campaign that — because of how it's packaged or advertised or has been modified — throws prominent conservative public figures into a tailspin because yet another American company has gone "woke."

As Salon's Amanda Marcotte pointed out in March, the GOP is "obsessed with 'woke,' but can't define it."

"That was hilariously demonstrated in a viral video clip of conservative author Bethany Mandel falling completely apart when asked in an interview to define 'woke,' a concept she wrote an entire book denouncing. Mandel couldn't do it," Marcotte wrote. "'So, I mean, woke is sort of the idea that, um…' she stammered before admitting it 'is something that's very hard to define,' and then failing utterly to get close."

[…]

But as silly and cyclical as conservatives' constant declarations of a "culture war" feel (and they certainly are both silly and cyclical) these boycotts are most often driven by hateful rhetoric surrounding marginalized people and communities, as is the case with the latest call for a boycott against Bud Light beer, which is still simmering this week.
Bingo! Unlike most boycotts these are motivated by animosity against all thing LGBTQ+.
However, for some Republicans, the boycott just isn't really working out. For example, look at Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, attempted to boycott Bud Light — by filling his fridge with one of its parent company's beers, a move that Instagram commenters classified as a "tremendous self-own."
With all these boycotts the conservatives can’t drink beer, eat fast-food, or wear jackets and coats, they are going to be hurting puppies.

Remember that the Holocaust didn't start with the gas chambers, it started with politicians dividing people by "othering", us vs them, through lies and laws.

  1. Fascism is a lot more than authoritarianism. Fascism generally is an economic system, where the corporations tell the government what it can, and cannot do. So, in a sense, Fascism and Corporatism are one and the same. Former congressman, Ron Paul said nearly 20 years ago, that we are living under what he called soft Fascism. Around the same time, former President Jimmy Carter, so that the United States is no longer a functioning democracy.

Members of the far right are also members of the dark triad psychologically. They were born to be bigots. The dark triad is a description of people with very dangerous, personality disorders. These disorders are, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and narcissism. These are the personality traits of most modern Republicans and that is why they worship Donald Trump because I want to be like him. More concise word to describe people with these personality characteristics is evil 😈 .

  2. I think the more we bloggers do to make people understand what fascism is, the better. It's the only way I know to fight against it, although I'm afraid it's already here and we're going to have a difficult time of it.
