A neo-Nazi group in Florida says the right-wing hysteria about drag performances has been an effective recruitment tool.

“What we have seen is certain types of activism definitely gets interest and recruitment up. And that’s where like the drag queen shit — like everybody wants to be a part of the team shutting that down,” Josh Nunes, leader of National Socialist Florida, recently told NPR.

The NPR report describes the group laser-projecting an image of a swastika and a cross onto a high-rise building in Jacksonville, along with messages such as one to Florida’s governor reading, “Why are child friendly drag shows legal? @ Ron DeSantis.” Actually, DeSantis has been a proponent of restricting drag shows, but National Socialist Florida is trying to push him even farther.

While the far right has gotten riled up over school curricula about racial and LGBTQ+ issues, the anti-drag rhetoric has been the most effective, Nunes said. “We’ve just seen the largest upticks in recruitment from the drag stuff,” he noted.

We know who the real “groomers,” the right-wing! They are the that are grooming people to become racists, anti-Semitic, homophobes, and transphobes!

In response to the neo-Nazi group projecting their hate on the side of buildings,

Jacksonville has recently adopted an ordinance that makes it a misdemeanor to project an image or message onto a building if the owner doesn’t consent, NPR reports. But that may not hold up if challenged in court, as groups across the political spectrum have used these projections to protest, and courts have ruled that such actions are within the right to free speech under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

I have an idea to stop the projections if the court overturned the law. Allow buildings owners to charge for projecting things on the side of buildings.

Hundreds of armed far-right extremists, including “Sieg Heil” chanting neo-Nazis, joined by right-wing Christian groups, converged on a park in Ohio where parents and children had gathered to enjoy a drag queen story event Saturday. The extremists clashed with rainbow umbrella-wielding supporters who had shown up to protect the event.

At Wadsworth Memorial Park outside Akron, the Rock-n-Roll Humanist Drag Queen Story Hour ended in chaos as tensions raged between activists and protesters.

A number of far-right extremist and religious groups, including the Proud Boys, Patriot Front, III Percenters, “White Lives Matter of Ohio,” Blood Tribe (a neo-Nazi movement led by former Marine Chris Pohlhaus, who was armed), and unaffiliated conservatives, attended the event to disrupt it.

Protesters carried weapons and performed Nazi salutes. At one point, a masked extremist pointed at a Black supporter of the story hour and yelled, “There’s a ni**er fa**ot!”

One protester pulled a gun and pointed it at a group of supporters at one point in the video and tried to shoot it twice but failed. The unidentified man was later arrested in another incident after he appeared to strike someone with a pole.

While we protected the children. I am worried that more and more they are coming armed to these protests.
