Just The Facts Ma'am

You know all the grief that the Republicans and the right-winger are given us, you would think that we are everywhere a growing plague of trans people.

So what are our numbers? 15 percent of the population? 10 percent? … 1 percent? How about 0.5 percent.

Well those are the numbers… around a half a percent! One in two hundred.
Transgender is a term used to describe people whose gender or sense of personal identity does not match the sex they were born with. In other words, a transgender person may have been born as a male but identifies as a female or vice versa.

Transgender people are part of the LGBTQ+ community. According to the Williams Institute, 1.4 million adults identify as transgender in the United States. About 0.5% of adults 18-24 identify as transgender, and 0.3% of adults 65 and older identify as transgender.
Those are the numbers that drive the Republicans into a tizzy. And that is also the reasons that they are going after us… we are small in number and people don’t understand us, which makes us perfect for them to villainize us.
Most surprisingly, of the transgender population, it seems that the majority of people are from the younger demographics. People who are aged 13 to 17 are more likely to identify as transgender. About 1.43% of the population in this age range are transgender, followed closely by 1.31% of those 18 to 24. Less than half a percent of those 25 to 64 years old are transgender. Older generations, ages 65 and older, also identify as transgender, albeit a far lower percentage. Of the total population, 0.32% who identify as transgender are over the age of 65.

OMG it must be ROGD!!!! It is an invasion of trans zombies!

Why is there an increase in trans youth? Well it could very well be that youth today think it is safer to come out, that people are more accepting now. Maybe because there is a name now for how they feel inside. For me growing up there was no name for how I felt and if you did look it up in medical books at the libraries it said mental disorder.

The figures for the U.S. are a total number of us 1,331,900, per 100,00 population is 397 or 0.4%. Yup that is all of us! All this brouhaha is over us a minority of a minority.

How about Connecticut? Well according the article we are total number of us in Connecticut 15,300, per 100,00 population is 422 or 0.42%

The Republicans have blow this so far out a portion. Also take a look at Connecticut trans athletes, there are over hundred thousand student athletes in Connecticut and only around 10 or 12 trans students athletes. But the Republicans are all lather up about us.

The other day the NAIA banded us from sports,
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced a policy Monday that all but bans transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports at its 241 mostly small colleges across the country.

The NAIA Council of Presidents approved the policy in a 20-0 vote at its annual convention in Kansas City, Missouri. The NAIA, which oversees some 83,000 athletes competing in more than 25 sports, is believed to be the first college sports organization to take such a step.

According to the transgender participation policy, which goes into effect in August, all athletes may participate in NAIA-sponsored male sports but only athletes whose biological sex assigned at birth is female and have not begun hormone therapy will be allowed to participate in women’s sports.
So what is the NAIA? I never heard of them so who are they?
Before transferring to Taylor University, I didn’t know the NAIA existed. In a world full of ESPN highlights from big NCAA Division I schools, NAIA schools are almost nonexistent in the media and therefore unknown to most of the public. If you’re a high school senior shopping for colleges, a disgruntled college student looking for a new opportunity, or someone shocked at the existence of alternate to the NCAA, then this article is for you. Here’s a simple explanation of the NAIA:

[…]

Private and religious affiliation

A majority of NAIA schools are affiliated with a religion or religious institution. About 81% of schools are private in the NAIA, and many of these are associated with the Christian religion (NAIA Stats). This provides some benefits for student athletes. For example, NAIA schools are not required to play on Sundays. During my athlete days at Taylor University -- a Christian school -- I never played a game on a Sunday.
Ding, ding, ding! Now the pieces are falling into place.
