Sadly they never stop coming…
Oklahoma GOP’s transgender legislation draws national ire
The Journal Record

January 6, 2023Last year, Oklahoma lawmakers targeted medical professionals who provide gender-affirming care to transgender youth.
This year, legislation has been filed to halt gender reassignment treatment already underway for adult transgender Oklahomans, a proposal that is drawing national attention and criticism.
State Sen. David Bullard, R-Durant, filed his Senate Bill 129 on Wednesday. The measure would prevent heath care providers from administering gender-affirming care to Oklahomans as old as 26 years of age, punishable as a felony with possible revocation of their medical license.
Bullard dubbed the measure the “Millstone Act of 2023,” referencing a scripture verse saying it would better for someone to have a millstone hung around their neck and be flung into the sea rather than cause young people to sin.
The measure also would prohibit public funds from being used to provide gender-affirming health care and would bar the state Medicaid program from covering procedures related to gender transition.
Bullard already is facing a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of three transgender students over legislation he filed last year preventing transgender youth from using the bathroom or locker room that conforms to their gender identity.
Seems to me is that this legislator is pushing his religion on us.
“It won’t stop until they ban transition entirely,” Alejandra Caraballo, a civil rights attorney and clinical instructor at the Harvard Law School Cyberlaw Clinic, tweeted regarding SB 129. “They’ll just keep increasing the age. It was never about children.”
The Democrats oppose the legislation, but the Republican have a trifecta, they control the three branches of government.
House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson, D-Oklahoma City, in December issued a statement in response to a similar bill filed by state Rep. Jim Olsen, R-Roland, which would prohibit gender reassignment treatment for Oklahomans younger than age 21.
“This is another example of government overreach into decisions that should be left between Oklahoma families and their doctors,” Munson said. “We should be trusting health care professionals to do their jobs instead of threatening to criminalize their best practices.”
Republicans from Ronald Reagan on they have been saying “Get the government out of our lives!” but now they are standing between our doctors and us, telling the doctors not to treat us!
This is nothing more than a punitive attack at us designed to create life long problems for us by by forcing us not to get proper medical treatment and forcing us back in the closet.
