Another Idiot Bill From The Republicans.

You know the Republicans have been harping about the economy, the price of gas, and just about everything they can blame on the Democrats. However, the roads? The crumbling roads? The high cost of healthcare? Crickets!

Get a load of the latest bill that they have proposed at the very beginning of the legislative session. Let me clue you in, it is a doozy.

Defining ‘woman’ battle heads to states amid new wave of LGBTQ bills
Many Republicans say their laws on gender issues are a response to President Joe Biden’s interpretation of a Supreme Court ruling on workplace discrimination.

Republican-controlled statehouses passed a record number of restrictions on transgender people in 2022 — from sports to health care — and conservatives aren’t slowing down.

Take South Carolina, where the Legislature may try out a new tactic next year: defining what it means to be a woman. Other conservative states may follow.

State Sen. Danny Verdin, a Republican, filed a joint resolution this month that would amend the South Carolina Constitution to establish that male and female be defined “in the context of reproductive potential… without regard to an individual’s psychological, chosen or subjective experience of gender.”

What happens when a woman goes though menopause? Is she no longer a women?

What happens if a woman can’t bear children because a medical reasons? Is she not a women?

What happens to a man who has had a vasectomy? Is he no longer a man?

What happens to a man who is shooting blanks? Is he not a man?

Will a masculine looking have to prove her gender by having a DNA test all the time?

What about intersex women and men?

“We need to have a common language and know what we’re talking about to protect women’s rights,” Carrie Lukas, president of the conservative-leaning nonprofit Independent Women’s Forum, said in an interview. “Right now, there’s tremendous confusion and concern, and a lot of conflict about when women’s only programs or spaces are allowed, and it shouldn’t be this way.”

Lukas’ group is at the center of the multistate effort to promote measures like Verdin’s and is working to build support for a 9-point “Women’s Bill of Rights” that would define several gender-related words, down to “mother’’ and “father.”

This is the most stupid bill that probably that ever hit the floor of the South Carolina Senate!

So what is the push behind this bill?

It is designed to stymie the Democrats… politics.

On Capitol Hill, the Republican resolution was designed to thwart the Biden administration’s efforts to codify protections for transgender students by defining “sex” in federal law as the one a person is assigned to at birth. That measure, sponsored by Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.), isn’t likely to get attention in the Senate, but at least six states have already queued up bills focused on LGBTQ restrictions for their 2023 legislative sessions, with others held over from the last cycle or still expected to be officially filed.

“This trend of trying to define what gender and sex is is not a new one. What’s new now is that they’re trying to push it in a legal sense,” said Devon Ojeda, senior national organizer at the National Center for Transgender Equality.

It is another knee jerk bill that they haven’t given any thought about.

Back in March Politico reported that during a Senate hearing for a judge a Republican Senator asked…

As the confirmation hearing for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson went into hour 13, Sen. Marsha Blackburn asked the Supreme Court nominee on Tuesday to define the word “woman.”

“I can’t — ” Jackson replied.

“You can’t?” Blackburn said.

“Not in this context. I’m not a biologist,” Jackson said.

“The meaning of the word woman is so unclear and controversial that you can’t give me a definition?” Blackburn asked.

The Tennessee Republican’s line of questioning hit on nearly every political hot-button issue, from critical race theory to teaching children about gender identity in schools to Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer on the University of Pennsylvania’s women’s team.

[…]

“The fact that you can’t give me a straight answer about something as fundamental as what a woman is underscores the dangers of the kind of progressive education that we are hearing about,” Blackburn said, before turning to Thomas, who has been at the center of the debate over policies for transgender athletes.

The Republicans cannot wrap their heads around that it is much more than chromosomes, they are still stuck in the 1950 science and that sexual orientation and being trans is not a choice. Furthermore they still thing sexual orientation and gender identity are the same thing. What blew a Connecticut Republican legislator when I was talking to him, he kept on saying about having a boyfriend until I stopped him and said that “I’m attracted to women” you could see the fuse blow in his brain… “Does not compute. Does not compute!” I joked that you could see his eyes spinning around with a glazed look.

Lead in pipes?

Crumbling bridges?

Antiquated electrical grid?

Mass shooting in schools?

Domestic terrorisms?

Nope!

The Republicans just want to talk about us.
