Where's The beef?

On January 20^th Musk comes in with his chainsaw to cut the budget promising big savings!

All you see is all about the huge savings they are creating... but they are vaporware. New media and the people start to ask "Where's the savings?" Media says the savings are only 

But he had this big huge military parade.

DOGE claimed over $150 million in savings, okay lets go with those numbers.

How much was Trump's birthday parade? The cost soared to about $92 million. Hm... 92 - 40 million = $52 million. Trump's trips to Mar-a-Lago has been estimated at somewhere around $30 million, that whittling it down to only $22 million dollars saving but I don't think he will stop going to Mar-a-Lago.

What have we gotten in return? Communications blackouts at two major airports! And a botched weather forecast!

So that brings me to Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill, Robert Reich wrote about the bill.

Trump’s Big Ugly Bill delivers $170 billion for border and immigration enforcement.

This is on the scale of supplemental budgets passed by the United States when we enter war.

ICE will add 10,000 agents to the 20,000 already on the streets.

Its annual budget for detentions will skyrocket from $3.4 billion in the current fiscal year to $45 billion until the end of the 2029 fiscal year. That’s a 365 percent increase.

I have to wonder where they will get the 10,000 agents... from the Proud Boys?

“They pass that bill, we’re gonna have more money than we ever had to do immigration enforcement,” Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, said recently, adding, “You think we’re arresting people now? You wait till we get the funding to do what we got to do.”

So where's the savings?

Now... Now this is the really scary part of the OBBB,

According to The New York Times, Palantir corporation’s software will be used to combine data gleaned from the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Social Security Administration, and the Internal Revenue Service. Meanwhile, the administration wants access to citizens’ and others’ bank account numbers and medical claims.

Big Brother! Why do they need that? I thought that to access SS and IRS information you needed a warrant! 

The regime is also going after naturalized citizens (born outside the United States), using a McCarthy-era law that the Justice Department then used to sniff out former Nazis who lied their way into becoming American citizens — a law that allows the Department to “denaturalize,” or strip, someone’s citizenship.

This is what fascists do, that is what authoritarian governments, that is what secret police do. Governments like North Korea, governments like Xi's and Putin's.

So who is making the money for all these new interment camps?

Trump told the people what they wanted to hear... broad budget cuts to the social support networks. But what you didn't hear was all the increase in spending more than offset the cuts.

This is just on the so called "cuts" there are so many other horrible thing in the bill and they are just starting to come out. Horrible things he does to use the trans community that were hushed up during the debate on the bill.

Ron DeSantis’s development of a massive detention facility in the Everglades has apparently exposed a lucrative relationship that Democrats in the Sunshine State are calling a possible pay-for-play scheme.

The construction of “Alligator Alcatraz” is a major political milestone for the Florida governor, whose allies and critics both say harbors further ambitions of taking his brand national after a trouncing at the hands of Donald Trump in 2024’s GOP primary. According to a state estimate obtained by the Associated Press, officials believe the facility will be operational and able to house up to 5,000 immigrants awaiting deportation by the end of July.

It’s a focus of controversy as a result, with critics describing it as the modern-day equivalent of a concentration camp — a characterization DeSantis and his allies reject. The facility is situated in the dense, swampy terrain of the Florida Everglades, a natural deterrent to escape attempts, as described by state officials in public announcements regarding the project. Trump and some of his followers have even made jokes about alligators eating escapees.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller’s obsession with kicking millions of undocumented immigrants out of the country is a byproduct of his hateful ethnonationalism — but he also stands to make a pretty penny off the administration’s deportation agenda.

According to ethics disclosure reports released by the White House, Miller owns between $100,000 and $250,000 worth of stock in Palantir, Peter Thiel’s data and intelligence software company that has a several lucrative contracts with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to track data and conduct surveillance on undocumented immigrants. It’s a pretty clear conflict of interest from the man behind much of Donald Trump’s immigration policy, in an administration that is already rife with corruption.

A Project on Government Oversight (POGO) analysis of disclosures from several administration  figures found that Miller and at least 11 other White House officials and staffers own stock in Palantir, including Gregory Barbaccia, Trump’s Chief Information Officer.

This is what Miller and the Trump administration have desired for some time. According to former Trump Department of Homeland Security appointee Miles Taylor, Miller once proposed using predator drones to “obliterate” ships carrying migrants seeking to land on U.S. soil. It should be no surprise that as Miller moves to fulfill his most vile nativist anti-immigrant fantasies, he’s ensured himself a cut of the profits.
