"The Provincetown Police Department is taking this report very seriously and has detectives actively investigating the incident," police said in a statementNBC Boston Ch 10By Asher KleinJune 30, 2025A person reported being attacked in Provincetown, Massachusetts, early Monday, police said, investigating what happened as a possible hate crime.Provincetown police said the person told them three men got out of a vehicle and attacked him on the east end of Bradford Street between 1 and 2 a.m. The person didn't need hospitalization after being evaluated by paramedics Monday afternoon."The Provincetown Police Department is taking this report very seriously and has detectives actively investigating the incident," police said in a statement, adding that everyone in the department was "alerted to this incident and will continue working hard to stay vigilant and keep everyone safe."

Boston incidentsIn Boston, a number of Pride flags have been torn down from homes in Jamaica Plain in recent days. Residents have expressed anger and frustration at the vandalism.Medford incidentIn Medford, controversy has erupted over a sign posted outside the New England Baptist Church that reads, "Homosexuality is an abomination." Residents said they were surprised to see the sign there.[...]"I know it's a church and people can celebrate anything that they want, but that's not celebrating anything, that's creating more hate," said Erin, a Medford resident and a member of the LGBT community. "It's something we definitely don't need right now."The owner of Modern Pastry next door said that when she saw the sign, she immediately painted a rainbow on her window.
The creatures are crawling out of the swamps, the Republicans have given them the green light to attack us, knowing that the feds have put hate crimes on the back burner.

Ryan Mahimtura, 19, of Framingham, MA, Henry Ward, 19, of Hudson MA, and a minor of Hudson, MA have all been charged with two counts of Disorderly Conduct in relation to the incident that took place in Provincetown on July 1st where they allegedly drove through town threateningly with air horns yelling homophobic slurs from their vehicle at several people. Additional charges may be filed.The alleged assault that occurred on June 30th in Provincetown is still being actively investigated.
