Hate Crimes Are Increasing And We Are Its Target.

The Republican influx of legislation against is increasing hate crimes, according to the Advocate it has increased by,

Authorities reported 1,393 hate crimes against LGBTQ+ people in 2019, but 1,287 in 2020. As overall hate crimes against LGBTQ+ people decreased there was a 20 percent increase, for the second year in a row, in hate crimes due to bias against a person’s gender identity.

That number went from 198 in 2019 to 236 in 2020, according to FBI data.

Advocates and experts have said the number of actual hate crimes is much higher. The data only indicates those hate crimes reported by authorities to the FBI.

Many of those hate crimes were the result of the hatred being generated by anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ laws.

Research that analyzed social media posts finds that hateful references to gays, lesbians and other LGBTQ people surged online after Florida passed a law that bars instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade.

References to pedophiles and “ grooming ” rose by more than 400 percent in the month after Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” measure was approved, according to a report released Wednesday by the Human Rights Campaign, one of the nation’s largest LGBTQ advocacy groups, and the Center for Countering Digital Hate, a nonprofit group that tracks online extremism.

The measure, passed by the Florida Legislature on March 8 and signed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on March 28, says school teachers cannot discuss gender identity or sexual orientation with their young students. Supporters have said decisions about talking about sexual orientation should be left to parents, not teachers.

Critics have said the law sends a hateful message about LGBTQ people.

The researchers who compiled the report found that the 500 most-viewed tweets that mentioned “grooming” were viewed more than 72 million times between January and July.

And they are gleeful of the hatred against us and see hate crimes as an indication of their success.

“If you’re against the Anti-Grooming Bill, you are probably a groomer or at least you don’t denounce the grooming,” Pushaw tweeted.

In response to questions about the report, Pushaw said the Human Rights Campaign and other critics of Florida’s new law are the ones linking it to LGBTQ people.

“There are groomers of all sexual orientations and gender identities. My tweets did not mention LGBTQ people at all,” she wrote in an emailed statement.

Yeah, right and I got a bridge to sell you Brooklyn, the connotation of the word “grooming” as they mean it is LGBQ+.

An article on NPR said…

Lately, that accusation has been thrown at those who support LGBTQ rights —teachers, companies, politicians — in addition to McMorrow: "Grooming" has become an incendiary buzzword of right-wing rhetoric, weaponized in the fight over anti-LGBTQ legislation.

This is just another attempt by Republican candidates to demonize us and stir up hate. They know that hate gets people out and vote.

As a result of all the hate that has been stirred up against Asian American Pacific Islanders, Blacks, Latinx, and LGBTQ communities has dramatically increased hate crimes. Trump gave them the green light to crawl out of the swamp.

In Boston they have had a rash of white supremacists marches, in Connecticut a number of towns have been peppered with hate literature. They are getting bolder in their hate and it has spilled over into violence.

Three people were arrested after men identifying with a white supremacy group marching in Jamaica Plain clashed with counter-protesters Saturday.

The Nationalist Social Club - 131, a New England neo-Nazi group, marched and chanted on a sidewalk in Jamaica Plain, holding a banner that said "Pedo Scum Off Our Streets."

Three people were arrested for disturbing the peace, according to Boston police. Their names had not been released as of Saturday afternoon.

The event was documented by multiple people in the neighborhood who took to social media to decry their presence. One video posted to Twitter shows members of the hate group wearing black gaiters over their faces and hats, each labeled "131." At one point they argue with two women as they attempt to unfurl their banner. Police presence can be seen in the video clip.

This is the modern equivalent of the Nazi Brown Shirts.

The Republicans are grooming hate to the next generation.

Hate is taught, we are not born with hate and we have to learn to hate. Just like pit bull they are not born aggressive but are taught it, so are children taught to hate by their parents. It is that cycle that has to be broken.

You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught

You've got to be taught
To hate and fear,
You've got to be taught
From year to year,
It's got to be drummed
In your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught.
You've got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made,
And people whose skin is a diff'rent shade,
You've got to be carefully taught.
You've got to be taught before it's too late,
Before you are six or seven or eight,
To hate all the people your relatives hate,
You've got to be carefully taught!

  1. "This is just another attempt by Republican candidates to demonize us and stir up hate. They know that hate gets people out and vote." and on and on. What a shame this demockracy is. Anyone for changing this dreadful system, oh calm down sweetie, it's too late for that no one listened in the last century, and they certainly won't listen now. Just got to roll, roll, roll along till the end comes smashing down. I am Richard Nelson and I approve this message though I don't like it.
