Welcome To The World Of Champagne Wishes And Caviar Dreams.

Long lines wrap around food pantries and soup kitchens while down in Florida...

The last time the federal government ran out of money, President Donald Trump wanted the world to know he was making sacrifices.

“I am all alone (poor me) in the White House,” he tweeted on Christmas Eve 2018, left behind in dreary, shutdown Washington, DC, as his family made merry at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

“I haven’t actually left the White House in months,” he said a few weeks later, bemoaning the long stretches of cooped-up time. So lonely was Trump that he took to waving forlornly out the window at machine gun-toting guards patrolling the White House grounds (“They don’t, like, wave,” he observed).

Back then, Trump seemed aware that weekly visits to his seaside mansion or lengthy trips overseas might appear insensitive as federal workers went without pay and government services ground to a halt. He called off a trip to Switzerland for the glittering World Economic Forum in Davos, but did make a surprise stop in Iraq to greet troops around Christmas.

It’s a different story this year. Trump has spent two weekends at Mar-a-Lago since the shutdown began on October 1, and played a round of golf at his club in Virginia. On Wednesday — as the shutdown becomes the longest in American history, and as Trump ramps up his calls for Republicans to shift course — he will travel to Miami for a speech to a financial conference. He’s expected back at his Palm Beach estate by Friday evening.
This time Trump showed off the lifestyle of the rich and famous!
A few hours later, he was walking into the ballroom at Mar-a-Lago for a “Great Gatsby”-themed Halloween party, where dancers in beaded fringe performed atop oversized champagne coupes. If F. Scott Fitzgerald’s disillusioned narrative of Jazz Age hedonism struck any of the guests as odd on the day food stamps were set to expire, they didn’t show it. “A little party never killed nobody” was the theme, apparently devised without reaching the end of the novel.
Trump isn't the only one in his administration who are living the caviar dreams;
This dude can’t stop flying to Nashville.

Kash Patel keeps taking a private jet to his girlfriend’s home city
FBI DIRECTOR KASH PATEL has had quite a week.

Facing criticism for taking a government jet to see his country-singer girlfriend perform at a wrestling match in Pennsylvania—then taking the jet to her home city of Nashville—he chose to fire a veteran FBI official in charge of the bureau’s planes. He then followed that by having the FBI instruct at least one flight-tracking website to stop sharing public data about his jet. And then, on Sunday, he took to X to lash out at his critics, claiming that his girlfriend Alexis Wilkins is a “country music sensation who has done more for this nation than most will in ten lifetimes.”

This was a lot. But, apparently, not enough to satiate the masses. Even right-wingers were taking shots at him, with podcaster Candace Owens declaring him “the most embarrassing human in the United States” and nicknaming him “Krashout Patel.”

And so Patel did what many men would do in a moment of great personal stress: He left town to lay low. On Friday, he flew to Fort Lauderdale, where his stay overlapped with the Great Gatsby–themed party hosted at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. (It’s not clear if Patel attended.) Then, having already been dinged for taking his government jet to visit his girlfriend in Nashville, Patel did it once more, with public flight data showing.
The Daily Beast writes...
 The party was thrown the night before funding was due to expire for the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, due to the ongoing government funding deadlock.

 “Donald Trump hosted a Great Gatsby party while SNAP benefits were about to disappear for 42 million Americans,” California Governor Gavin Newsom posted early Saturday morning. “He does not give a damn about you.”
"He does not give a damn about you!" All Trump cares about is himself, power, and money!
