Who Is Ripping Our Country Apart?

We have been around since time immortal, there has always been trans people, there are some who even say they can find references in the Bible about us. Some say Deborah is gender non-conforming, Jacob, and also Joseph with his multi-colored  was “gender variant.”

So when you hear the Republicans say that we are a new phenomenon call them out on it!
Trump Says Trans Rights Have “Ripped Apart Our Country”
“I want to have all people treated fairly,” Trump said to TIME, seemingly without irony.

I call bull s**t on them! It is not us who is tearing the country apart it is Trump and his MAGA cronies!
President-elect Donald Trump told TIME magazine this week that he doesn’t know where all this fuss about trans people came from, but that we’re all trying to find the guy who did this.

In a surreal “Person of the Year” interview published Thursday, Trump repeatedly made false and misleading claims on a range of topics, like vaccines, immigration, and military policy. When asked about his stance on trans rights and his campaign’s massive anti-trans ad campaigns, Trump seemed largely evasive, claiming he wanted “to have all people treated fairly.” When TIME staff brought up Trump’s 2016 comments supporting equal public bathroom access for trans people, Trump said he would not “get into the bathroom issue,” but added — seemingly without a shred of irony — that the topic has “ripped apart our country.”

“I am a big believer in the Supreme Court, and I'm going to go by their rulings [...] but we're talking about a very small number of people, and we're talking about it, and it gets massive coverage, and it's not a lot of people,” Trump said.

Sure after he packed the court with judges who put the Bible before the Constitution. We are scared of the unknown, we are scared about what could happen in the next four years!
Many of Trump’s Cabinet picks have also endorsed anti-trans policies. Former Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, the president-elect’s pick for director of national intelligence, introduced a bill in 2020 to prohibit trans women from playing on women’s sports teams. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida), Trump’s choice for secretary of state, introduced a bill in 2023 to ban anyone with a history of gender dysphoria from the U.S. military. And South Dakota Gov. Kristi L. Noem (R), selected to head the Department of Homeland Security, signed a ban on gender-affirming health care for trans youths last year.
I am renewing my passport but I won’t pack a ready bag.
But some of those wins were quickly changed when Trump took office. Within a month of his inauguration, Trump revoked the Obama-era guidelines on transgender students. He also ordered the Pentagon to ban transgender service members from the military.

Later on, under Biden, GOP state lawmakers began targeting a range of things, such as LGBTQ+-friendly books in public schools and gender-affirming care for children. So far, 26 states have banned trans girls and women from playing on sports teams that align with their gender identity.
NPR writes…
Afraid. Disappointed. Frustrated.

This is how Giovanni Santiago is feeling after former President Donald Trump's reelection victory.

"What I do believe is that LGBTQ people, specifically trans people, are a target for him, and are a target for his fan base," Santiago, who is trans, says about the president-elect.

"Many in our community, particularly trans people and their families, are filled with anxiety and fear about what a second Trump presidency could bring," says Ash Lazarus Orr, with Advocates for Trans Equality. The group works to strengthen and protect the rights of transgender people through policy advocacy, political work and legal support.
It is Trump who is ripping the country apart!
Trump returns to the White House at a time when half of all U.S. states ban transgender people under 18 from receiving gender-affirming health care. And 26 states have restrictions on transgender students participating in sports consistent with their gender identity, according to Movement Advancement Project, a nonprofit think tank that tracks LGBTQ-related law.
I like to point out that those 26 states are all Republican!
Groups including the American Civil Liberties Union, Transgender Law Center and others are gearing up to combat Trump policies on trans Americans in the courts.
I think this time around banning us in the military is going to be harder because there is now evidence that trans troops do not hinder combat effectiveness.
Proctor says the electoral success of anti-trans messaging will embolden certain factions of the Republican Party. "We should expect that the anti-trans rhetoric is going to intensify," he says.
What did the exit polls show the reason was that people voted Republican was the economy! Not trans issues! And as for the "landslide" that Trump talks about, he won by less than 2% of the popular vote!
Colby, 64, describes himself as a conservative Republican. He also has a son named Ashton who is trans. Colby, who lives in Columbus, Ohio, is in an unusual position: He voted for Trump, but plans to spend the next four years working with his 32-year-old son to fight anti-trans policies. He says he is happy the Republican Party will be in control of the federal government, but also very concerned about the party's stance on trans issues, which he says "is awful."
That is insane! He throws his son under the bus and then he says he is going to make it right again! But half the country voted that way… they are now having voter remorse.

The activists are right…
Over the next few months, he says he will be partnering with several organizations to provide training and plans to participate in panel discussions about the state of being transgender in America — and Ohio specifically.

He plans to meet people "where they are" — in libraries, in town halls or over email — to share information about trans people and dispel incorrect, preconceived notions about LGBTQ communities. A conversation between people on different sides of an issue can lead to a meeting in the middle and even common ground, he says.
That is exactly what we need to do.

Speaking of the Bible…
Religious studies professor supports trans rights claiming Bible 'portrays gender as a colorful spectrum'
Catholic university professor says Biblical 'scripture and trans rights are not at odds'

The Bible supports the idea that individuals can change their gender, according to a Catholic university professor in Ohio.

University of Dayton professor Esther Brownsmith listed "a few of the ways that scripture portrays gender as a colorful spectrum, not a rigid binary," in response to a vote Wednesday by Ohio lawmakers to override the governor's recent veto of a bill that prohibits biological males from competing in women's sports and restricts sex-change treatments for minors.

She claimed Joseph was one of many people in the Bible who "crossed gender boundaries," saying, "Deborah led an army, Mordecai breast-fed his cousin Esther, and Daniel was probably a eunuch."

"As a professor of Hebrew Bible at the University of Dayton, I believe that scripture and trans rights are not at odds. To the contrary: the Bible calls for us to support society’s most vulnerable members, and that call has rarely been more urgent," she wrote.

What does the Bible say about transgender people: An in-depth look
Let’s explore what the Bible says about transgender people, its general perspective on gender and identity, and common misinterpretations.
LGBTQ Nation
By Daniel Villarreal

Many people wonder, “What does the Bible say about transgender people?” — from conservative Christians who want to point to “Biblical truths” about gender identity, biological sex, and men and women to LGBTQ+ and ally Christians who want to support diverse identities. But even though trans people have existed throughout history, the Bible doesn’t directly mention trans people because the term “transgender” wasn’t coined until the 1960s.

Despite this, the Bible does examine some issues having to do with gender identity, biological sex, and also men and women. Queer and progressive theologians spoke with LGBTQ Nation about some commonly misinterpreted Bible verses, verses that seem to affirm trans people, and different ways of understanding Christianity’s message to transgender people.

British theologian Rev. Jonathan Tallon says that some people point to Bible verses as proof that God created only two distinct genders and, because “God doesn’t make mistakes,” changing gender is “against God and God’s plan.”

But these empty slogans ignore the existence of transgender people as well as intersex individuals, those born “with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn’t seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male.”

Matthew 19:12 – Loving trans people is a divinely radical act
“For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
Isaiah 56:5 – Trans people (and their names) are included in God’s many blessings
“To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, who choose the things that please me and hold fast my covenant, I will give, in my house and within my walls, a monument and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.”

But still they they persecute us! The Christian Right is locked into the 1950s with the Lavender Scare was at its peak! And they can't retreat because that will mean everything they preaches was a lie!

My friend wrote this one act play about trans people in the Bible.

As many of you know the "must pass" defense bill the Republicans stuck an anti-trans amendment in the bill denying healthcare for trans youth.
