Last month I wrote about Rep. McBride and the Inside, Outside Game this is it in action!
Guess who was also there protesting?
This is what is meant by “The Outside Game!”Transgender advocates stage a sit-in protest at a U.S. Capitol bathroom

December 5, 2024More than two dozen transgender people and their allies staged a sit-in at a U.S. Capitol bathroom Thursday to protest a proposed policy that would prohibit the country’s first openly trans member of Congress from using the women’s restrooms in the building.
Of the 25 demonstrators, about 15 were arrested for illegally protesting inside the Cannon House Office Building within the U.S. Capitol complex in violation of a Washington, D.C., code regarding crowding and obstructing, according to Brianna Burch, a spokesperson for the U.S. Capitol Police.
Advocates held the sit-in protest inside and outside the women’s bathroom closest to House Speaker Mike Johnson’s office over his support for a policy introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., last month that she said was intended to bar Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, D-Del., from using the women’s restrooms in the Capitol.
Video of the sit-in shows protesters chanting, “Speaker Johnson, Nancy Mace, our genders are no debate.”
Following the protest, Mace shared a video on social media addressing the demonstrators by calling them an anti-trans slur. Standing outside of what appeared to be a Capitol police station, she then read the protesters their Miranda rights using a megaphone.
I hope that is their plan on doing it again and that they flood the women’s bathroom with trans guys, lets see what happens then… they will not be breaking any laws if they are just using the bathroom. Just make sure the guys don’t loiter go in and then come out, and go to the next bathroom. Keep it up and make sure each bathroom has a trans man in the bathroom at all times.Chelsea Manning, trans rights activists protest at Capitol, GOP lawmaker uses slur

December 5, 2024Chelsea Manning, the former U.S. Army Soldier and WikiLeaks whistleblower, joined a group of transgender rights activists staging a sit-in protest Thursday at a bathroom near Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) office, objecting to the Republican-led effort to ban transgender women from using the Capitol women’s bathrooms.
The protest was headed by the Gender Liberation Movement, a volunteer activist group, and ended more than a dozen arrests for illegal protesting, Capitol Police representatives told Axios and CNN, including Manning. The former Army intelligence analyst was sentenced to 35 years in prison in 2013 for her role in leaking a cache of classified government material to WikiLeaks. President Barack Obama commuted her sentence in 2017.
I made it back from Cape Cod, traffic was light and not that many crazies on the road. They probably are still in school.
Diana, I have been suggesting that for quite some time. Make sure the transmen bring their birth certificates and be ready to show them as they walk in!

I am sure, if Rep Mace had get her mouth shut, nothing would have happened. Rep Mace, et al, are nothing more than people trying to become visible among 435 members of the House. After McBride takes the oath of office she should use the ladies' bathroom. I am waiting to see if a guard will be posted at every bathroom to check the genital area of all entering the bathroom: after all some states allow a person to change their gender identifier on their driver's license.
ReplyDeleteWhile I understand the desire to push the envelope, I would advise against this tactic. Several state legislatures have censured transwomen for relatively minor offenses in an attempt to continue (and to demonstrate) bullying against us. I suggest that Rep. McBride needs to demonstrate that she is a fully competent normal person who is above the petty fray that Mace et. al. want to continue in order to garner publicity and distract from the important work that the legislative body should be spending its time doing. In the long run, our appearing to be like every other good person in this world will help our cause more than this type of confrontation. However, I will note that I have advocated a peaceful "occupation" of bathrooms in the Capital of transpersons following the new rules so as to demonstrate how absurd the rule is. Mace should have to use a bathroom full of very masculine, very passable transmen on a daily basis so as to realize what she is asking for.
DeleteRep, McBride has already said that she will follow the policy (There are bathrooms in the representative's offices for their own use.). These are protesters who are not associated with the congresswoman and I think that it is their desire to be arrested.
DeleteI saw her interview on the Sunday morning talk shows. Yes, she said she would not make waves. Yes, there are bathrooms in the offices of the representatives. I hope she does not need to relieve herself during a long session in the House. I'll be waiting for the dust-up when she uses the bathroom designated for males. In other countries going to the bathroom is not a big deal with men and women sharing the same facilities. It's my understanding from all the testimony I've heard from my female family members and ladies on sites such as this one, there are no urinals in the ladies facilities, only stalls.
