Day Number 1: TransWeek (AKA Fantasia Fair)

This year I decided to go again because it is the 50th anniversary of the fair. On the agenda… register and attend the Opening Night Meet and Greet.

After a long day of travel, relax with your old friends and meet your new friends . Come dressed formally, come dressed casually, come dressed as a guy, or come dressed as a girl, or your gender-nonconforming self—just come by and enjoy yourself! For more information, please see the event earlier in this guide on page 24.
My only concern is that it is at night and I am not a big fan of driving after dark.

Feeling good ( a little to many rum & cokes ) had a great time. We arrived around two o’clock and move into our room. We then went down into town to have lunch at the “Stormy Harbor”. It was a trip to watch the tourist watching us. I was very nervous at first but I got over it and started to enjoy myself. After lunch we went to the Provincetown Reservations to sign up for the weeks entertainment. We signed up for all of the evening shows and the Banquet on Saturday night. We then walked around town and checked out the stores. It was fun watching the tourist when they figured out that we were guys, the expressions that they had on their faces. They were mostly seniors who came in for the day on busses.

That night we went to see the Jill Richard’s Cabaret show at the Vixen lounge. She is a transgendered performer from Vancouver B. C., she gave a good performance, but it was only about an hour long, not the two promised. We then shot some pool and had a few drinks. Then we went to another night club, but it was smoky and had loud music, so I left and called it a night.
