Listen To The Doctors!

You know all the hearing that the Republican are pushing their junk science well here is what the American Medical Association GLMA has to say in their news letter…
Welcome to GLMA's Policies and Position Statements!

GLMA is committed to ensuring health equity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) persons and equality for LGBTQ+ health professionals in their work and learning environments. GLMA recognizes that many LGBTQ+ people experience an intersection of discrimination based on being LGBTQ+ along with structural discrimination based on being indigenous, an immigrant, a veteran; and on race, gender, ethnicity, housing status, ability, age, size, and class, among others. GLMA is committed to dismantling biases from these other structural contributors to assure health equity and professional equality. Our policies and position statements focus on issues important to all LGBTQ+ communities understanding that their application requires embedding them in a greater context of structural discriminatory issues.

GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality condemns discrimination in health care for transgender and gender-diverse people, and calls on clinicians to follow the most recent WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) Standards of Care. Furthermore, GLMA calls for payors to create coverage guidelines based on the most current Standards of Care. In addition, GLMA calls for governing bodies to legislate and/or regulate payors to facilitate the use of the most recent Standards of Care in coverage guidelines to avoid barriers to access and stigma for transgender and gender-diverse persons.
Note: “In addition, GLMA calls for governing bodies to legislate and/or regulate payors to facilitate the use of the most recent Standards of Care in coverage guidelines to avoid barriers to access and stigma for transgender and gender-diverse persons.”

But the Republican still used quacks for medical advice on treatment for us.

The American Academy of Pediatrics reaffirmed on Thursday its existing policy supporting gender-affirming care for transgender youth, but the group also plans to conduct an additional review of research.

The review is intended to “develop an expanded set of documents to support pediatricians across the country,” with their management of transgender patients, Mark Del Monte, CEO of the American Academy of Pediatrics said in an emailed statement to CNN. The review was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

The existing policy, issued in 2018, was the academy’s first statement on care for transgender youth, and it supported access to “comprehensive gender-affirming and developmentally appropriate health care.” Academy bylaws require policy statements to be reviewed every five years, Del Monte said, which triggered the action.

During a meeting at its Illinois headquarters on Thursday afternoon, the AAP Board of Directors approved a plan that reaffirms its existing policy guidance around gender-affirming care. That go-ahead was based on an updated review of scientific evidence released since the policy was approved in 2018; the board agreed the latest evidence still supports the existing policy.

 [...]

Major medical associations — including the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry — agree that gender-affirming care is clinically appropriate and can be life-saving treatment for children and adults.

But the quacks still stick to their junk science to suppress us.
