A bar in Texas was forced to cancel an all-ages drag show after receiving a barrage of threatening messages from online conservatives.Cool Beans Bar and Grill in Denton reports receiving “aggressive phone calls and hateful comments” over a Disney-themed drag brunch open to all ages. The event was scheduled for Sunday, until right-wing figures began falsely attacking them for “grooming children” in the days before the event was scheduled.
Located in a town 40 miles from Dallas, on the campus of the University of North Texas, Cool Beans caters mostly to college-age students. A former employee has called the venue a welcoming space for the queer community.
And then the far right found out about them and it set them off in a tizzy.
Before the weekend began, Sara Gonzales, host of a conservative program on Glen Beck's Blaze TV, took to Twitter to target the drag show to her 250,000 followers.
She wrote, alongside a flier for the event: “Cool Beans Bar and Grill in Denton, TX is hosting an ALL AGES drag show THIS SUNDAY. Who’s coming with me to shut it down?”
The next figure to fuel the online flames was former State Senator and current gubernatorial candidate, Don Huffines, who tweeted: “The devil is coming for your kids.”
He added, “What are you going to do to stop this madness?”
I don’t know what the far right-wing folks thinks goes on in a public restaurant or is it just the fact that they think drag queens are evil. I think that it is the latter.
Gonzales claimed it is “child abuse” to take “young children to sexually explicit shows where men dress up like women and dance provocatively for money.”
Without evidence, she accused Cool Beans staff of being “pedophiles” who were using the Disney theme to “indoctrinate” children.
Two things to remember, first is that the conservatives think we choose to be LGBTQ+ and second that think that LGBTQ+ people are “S*x Crazed,” these people are sick.
Tell me if I’m wrong, isn’t the police supposed to protect people?

Serbia won’t allow a pan-European LGBTQ Pride event to take place in Belgrade next month, the president said Saturday, citing threats from right-wing extremists and fears of clashes.Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced the decision to cancel the Sept. 12-18 EuroPride celebration during a news conference where he also proposed extending the term of Serbia’s prime minister, who is a lesbian.
“It’s not the question of whether they (extremists) are stronger, but you just can’t do it all at the same moment, and that’s it,” Vucic said. “I am not happy about it but we can’t manage.”
Members of the European Pride Organizers Association chose Serbia’s capital three years ago to host the annual event. Vucic said a crisis with neighboring Kosovo and economic problems were among the reasons why the Balkan nation’s authorities did not think they could handle EuroPride, which features a Pride parade.
“This is a violation of minority rights, but at this moment the state is pressured by numerous problems,” he said.
Yup, it is a violation of human rights.

[…]Pro-Serbian Orthodox Church conservative groups, who have been marching unhindered for weeks on the Serbian capital’s streets to protest the LGBTQ events, had scheduled a new demonstration for Sept. 17 — the day of the Pride parade. Police also banned that anti-gay protest.
“After the security assessment, it was determined that there is a high risk the safety of participants in both (marches) on the announced routes will be endangered, as well as the safety of other citizens,” police said in a statement.
[…]
Organizers of EuroPride, the largest annual Pride event in Europe — which includes a week of festivities — said they hoped their legal appeal against the ban will be accepted and that they would hold the festivities as planned.
“Belgrade Pride will use all available means to overturn this decision,” their statement said.
After the ban was announced, gay activists booed and jeered Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who is openly lesbian but has been accused by the Serbian gay community of doing nothing to improve their status. She attended a human rights conference that was a part of the weeklong LGBTQ events.
So the h***rs win!
All they h***rs have to do is say they will protest and they win, without even raising a finger.
I think that this is a cop-out by the politicians so the media will not have any pictures of the police defending us.
