I Don’t Know If I Like This…

Parents announce their son’s transition with a birth announcement,
'He informs us that we were mistaken': Proud parents announce son's sex change with a tongue-in-cheek 'birth' notice

The supportive parents of a transgender man who was born Elizabeth Anne Bogert have placed a 'birth' notice in a newspaper to announce his sex change.

Yolanda Bogert and Guy Kershaw put the notice in the December 2 edition of Queensland's The Courier Mail to correct their 'mistake'.

The 19-year-old, from Brisbane, now identifies as a man and goes by the name of Kai Bogert.
The announcement read…
A Retraction – Bogert
In 1995 we announced the arrival of our sprogget, Elizabeth Anne, as a daughter. He informs us that we were mistaken. Oops! Our bad.
We would now like to present our wonderful son – Kai Bogert.
And to bring a tear to a stone, the parents signed off with a personal message to their son.
Loving you is the easiest thing in the world. Tidy your room.
I don’t know if I like the idea of running an ad in the local newspaper,  it was a nice thought but a little too put. What are your thoughts?
