False Flags

Down in Texas they fight dirty!

There is a group masquerading as a trans rights group!
The Transgender Education Network of Texas sent a cease and desist letter to messaging companies demanding an end to the text campaign.

The Transgender Education Network of Texas on Wednesday sent a cease and desist notice that demanded two digital messaging companies stop a client from impersonating the LGBTQ+ advocacy group in a series of texts sent this week to Texans.

The texts, sent from at least three numbers Monday and Tuesday evening, advertised guides on “bathrooms and beyond for trans kids at school” or offered to answer questions about gender-affirming care in Texas. The texts linked to TENT guides on how to respond to certain state laws and information about its advocacy work.

Although the messages linked to TENT’s website, the group said in a statement that it did not send them and didn’t know who did, adding the texts did not “represent the official position or communications of the organization.”
They go for the jugular!

These emails are doing harm to the non-profit,
The texts prompted Texas Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, to send a Tuesday letter asking the state attorney general’s office to investigate TENT for “circumventing and violating” Senate Bill 12.

When asked about TENT’s statement that it did not send the texts, Leach said he wanted “a diligent search for the truth, no matter where that search may lead.”

“I asked the attorney general’s office to investigate and I, like many Texans, am very interested to see what that investigation uncovers and reveals,” he said.
KXAN wrote,
“Awfully suspicious right before the midterms lol. Seems like Republican chicanery,” wrote one user. “Guess when you have nothing else to run on you have to lean into culture war bullsh-t.”
The Texan writes...
Days before the start of early voting in Texas’ general election, residents are receiving text messages related to “bathrooms and beyond for trans kids” in public schools and information on obtaining “gender-affirming care” in the state — directing recipients to an organization that denies connection with the messages, and drawing legal action from a GOP lawmaker.

Michelle Smith, a senior advisor to Paxton, amplified an X post by Dallas Express News writer Carlos Turcios that questioned whether TENT was “encouraging teachers to violate Texas law.”
I want to point out... that everyone agrees that they didn't send it but the politicians still want the group investigated!
