We Want A Few Good Racists Men

The Marines used to have a recruitment slogan that they are looking for "We’re looking for a few good men."

Well the Secretary of Defense is looking for a few good racist, Christian Nationalist, hate mongers.
Possible slogans discussed include “Charlie has awakened a generation of warriors.” There is talk of using Turning Point USA chapters as recruitment centers.

Pentagon leaders are considering a new recruiting campaign that would encourage young people to honor the legacy of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk by joining the military, according to two officials familiar with the planning.

The idea would be to frame the recruiting campaign as a national call to service, the officials said. Possible slogans that Pentagon leaders have discussed include “Charlie has awakened a generation of warriors,” according to the officials.
It seems now that the new slogan is We’re looking for a few good racist, Christian Nationalist, misogynist men. The tattoos on the Secretary of Defense Hegseth it is believed that he is a Christian Nationalist so with the recruitment campaign focusing on Turning Point members there is worry that this will lead to a military that is loyal to Trump and not the Constitution!
The potential push comes as the Pentagon’s Military Service Recruitment Task Force, which Tata co-chairs, is warning of a possible drop in future recruits, according to two defense officials.

Trump and Hegseth have touted an uptick in recruiting since Trump’s inauguration, though it actually began under President Joe Biden after two years of shortfalls in 2022 and 2023. But that trend could be short-lived, in part because of societal and generational changes that are shrinking the overall number of Americans eligible to serve, and which show no signs of slowing. Kirk had a large following among young conservatives and Trump supporters, many of whom would be around the age a military recruitment campaign would typically target.

The Pentagon would frame the drive as a “national call to service,” according to U.S. officials who spoke with NBC News. Possible slogans for the recruitment effort include “Charlie has awakened a generation of warriors.”

The enlistment strategy could potentially involve Turning Point USA, Kirk’s political organization, morphing it into recruitment centers. “That could include inviting recruiters to be present at events or advertising for the military at the chapters,” NBC reported that two defense officials explained.
Several weeks after the 2024 presidential election, Charlie Kirk, founder and president of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), proudly embraced a white nationalist conspiracy theory while celebrating then-President-elect Donald Trump’s plans for mass deportation.

Kirk accused Democrats of embracing immigration as part of their plot to secure voters, permit crime and enact the “great replacement.” He warned his hundreds of thousands of listeners, “We native born Americans are being replaced by foreigners.” He then promised Trump will “liberate” the country from “the enemy occupation of the foreigner hordes.”

Over the last several years, the political right has increasingly shifted toward an authoritarian, patriarchal Christian supremacy dedicated to eroding the value of inclusive democracy and public institutions. The political right in the U.S., whose party infrastructure is dominated by the Republican Party but includes the current Libertarian Party and is flanked to the right by the Constitution Party, has embraced aggressive state and federal power to enforce a social order rooted in white supremacy. Turning Point USA and its growing influence on conservative politics is emblematic of this current state.
Who will they be loyal to?

Is this the military we want as a Republic? A military that is made up of racist, white supremist, Christian Nationalist, misogynist? A military with a theocratic worldview?

  1. One answer to this threat of an army of trained "brown-shirts" is for other patriotic Americans is to join military service to learn the same skills nationalists want to acquire. I served as an infantry in Vietnam. In my infantry platoon were Latinos, African-Americans as well as White Americans from farms and urban areas, and even a gay man (learned later from his obituary). Whether and enlistee or a draftee they all viewed it as service to their country, not to a dictator or to "Make America White, Again." People have to remember the Second Amendment is in the Constitution to protect their freedoms from tyrants from within and without, not to go hunting for dinner.
