Saturday: 9 Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

On Saturdays I take a break from the heavy stuff and have some fun…

1) Which do you prefer: colored hard-boiled eggs, chocolate marshmallow eggs, or plastic eggs with coins inside?
Go for the cash man!

2) What's your favorite color of Peeps (yellow, purple, or pink)?
None… they are pure sugar!!!!

3) All this talk of sweets is making Sam hungry. What's for lunch?
Ham sandwiches!

4) This song was introduced by country singer Gene Autry and it's still a favorite. Please share some of the lyrics. (And you're on your own; Sam didn't include a link to the song this week.)
Here comes Pete Cottontail hoping along the bunny trail...

5) Gene Autry was so popular that a town in Oklahoma named itself for him. Have you ever been to Oklahoma?
Nope… only I70 in Nebraska.

6) He and his horse Champion also had a TV show. Can you name another famous horse?
Ah… now I see, you mean Gene Autry’s horse.
Well there is “Trigger” and “Silver”

7) Gene Autry also recorded "Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer," and it was, of course, wildly popular, too. Who is your favorite recording artist?
It probably a tie… Linda Ronstadt & the Eagles.

8) In 1950, the year Autry recorded this song, Diner's Club issued the first credit card. Think of the last thing you purchased. Did you use cash, a credit card, a debit card, an e-wallet service (Visa Checkout, Paypal, Google Pay, Apple Pay ...) or a check?
Credit Card at a local orchard for milk and eggs.

9) Easter is recognized as the start of the spring season. What are you looking forward to this spring?
Well… in the next couple of weeks opening up the cottage. Followed by an event I want to go to in Northampton. Followed by eye surgery for my cataract. And of course the usual summer stuff.

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

I am in overload… as you probably figured out I’m on a roller coaster with all the emotional stuff coming out of Washington. The community is in a state of shock, the haters are out in full force. Hate flyers thrown on front lawns of a number of towns in Connecticut, on a synagogue hate symbols were spray painted.

The community have stepped together to help one another.

For the last three weekends two friends have come over to do all the little work around the house that I can no longer do. They fixed the mailbox, fixed the propane fire pit, and all the little stuff that I can't do anymore.

Another friend has been driving me around at night and also at the True Colors conference wheeled me around in a wheel chair.

We have made it through the Lavender Scare and all the other stuff thrown at and we will make it through it again by being a community. A community if friends and allies.

If you want to know why there is Pride, now you know.
I see you've got your fist out, say your piece and get out
Yes, I get the gist of it, but it's alright
Sorry that you feel that way, the only thing there is to say
Every silver lining's got a touch of grey
I will get by
I will get by
I will get by
I will survive

  2. This doesn't have anything to do with Saturday 9, but ... are you aware of Lizzie Lewis? She's a brave girl, still a teenager!, running for school board in Schenectady. She's hoping to unseat the boardmember who bullied her for advocating for GSA in her school. She's inspiring and I'm proud to support her. I think her story will make you smile.
