Have you noticed you noticed that Trump has been firing the Top Brass in the military? It started with the firing of a Coast Guard admiral. Why was she fired? Was it because she is a woman? Was she fired on trumped up charges? CBS News wrote...
"Under my statutory authority as the Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security I have relieved Admiral Linda L. Fagan of her duties as Commandant of the United States Coast Guard," the brief message read, in part. "She served a long and illustrious career, and I thank her for her service to our nation."The Coast Guard commandant is appointed for a four-year term, and Fagan had served two years.A senior DHS official said in a statement that Fagan was terminated "because of her leadership deficiencies, operational failures, and inability to advance the strategic objectives of the U.S. Coast Guard."
She was the first woman to lead a branch of the U.S. military. Now then if what Trump & Company is true... other presidents didn't think so, just Trump and his cronies.
Then we have Admiral Lisa Franchett who was relieved of her duties as Chief of Naval Operations. She had previously made history as the first woman to serve on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Next a Colonel Susan Meyers was fired for "“loss of confidence in her ability to lead.” after JD Vance visit to Greenland. AP News reported,
In a statement late Thursday, the Space Force said Col. Susan Meyers was removed as commander of Pituffik Space Base in Greenland over a “loss of confidence in her ability to lead.”“Commanders are expected to adhere to the highest standards of conduct, especially as it relates to remaining nonpartisan in the performance of their duties,” the statement said.Military.com reported Thursday that Meyers sent the base-wide email defending the base’s relationship with Denmark and Greenland following Vance’s visit two weeks ago.
She got fired for not toeing the party line. But the article went on to say,
Meyers’ firing was the latest in a series of terminations of senior military leaders, including several female leaders. The Trump administration has previously fired Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti, U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Linda Fagan and U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Shoshana Chatfield, the only woman on NATO’s military committee.
Trump & Company seems to be firing only women senior military leaders! Senator Kirsten Gillibrand expressed concern over what she described as "politically motivated firings" of senior military leaders.
“I am deeply disturbed by President Trump’s politically motivated purge of senior military leaders. This loss of experience makes our military less ready, undermines our national security, and ultimately makes Americans less safe. These firings also undermine the principle that our military owes its allegiance to the Constitution and to the American people – not to a particular party or president.Among the exceptionally qualified leaders Trump fired tonight is Lisa Franchetti, who was the first woman on the Joint Chiefs of Staff and had more time in command at sea than any of her recent predecessors. This administration has made bogus claims that Admiral Franchetti and other purged leaders secured their positions only because of their gender or race, despite the fact that they came to their roles with decades of experience and were confirmed with broad bipartisan support.
The Des Moines Register writes in "Trump's embattled Pentagon nominee Pete Hegseth reverses position on women in combat" that,
Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump's embattled nominee for defense secretary, appears to be changing his tune when it comes to women on the battlefield. The former Fox News host has said he opposes women serving in combat roles, claiming their inclusion "hasn't made us more effective, hasn’t made us more lethal, has made fighting more complicated."But as Hegseth makes the rounds on Capitol Hill, sitting down with key GOP senators whose votes could make or break his confirmation to join Trump's second-term Cabinet, he has seemingly reversed his position.[...]“He's not the right guy to lead the Department of Defense,” Duckworth said in an interview. “If you go by his statements a month ago, it shows that. Our military could not go to combat without women. Period. We would not be a combat-ready force without the 225,000 women who are serving in uniform today.”
But the Republicans wimps have no backbone to stand up to Trump.
I am deeply concerned that the people Trump has replaced them with are all loyal to Trump and not the Constitution! People Dispatch wrote that,
The Christian Evangelical leadership members of Trump’s camp, including Pete Hegseth, Stephen Miller, and Charlie Kirk, are distinct but embedded in other factions rather than an entirely standalone group. Some Evangelical movement leaders, including Pence, have been excluded from Trump 2.
Meanwhile Politico writes...
It’s not the high-profile Project 2025 initiative from the Heritage Foundation, which has drawn condemnation from Trump — and become a bogeyman for the left. The transition planning is coming, instead, from a different conservative think tank: America First Policy Institute. That planning has taken place largely outside the official Trump campaign, whose own transition planning is months behind the schedule of his first bid for the White House. But Trump and top aides are aware of the outside effort, and many Republicans view it as a key supplement to the formal Trump transition effort, as long as it stays out of the spotlight — and avoids angering Trump. The America First Policy Institute, filled with Trump loyalists and insiders, was blessed by Trump before it was founded in 2021. Its CEO, Brooke Rollins, has had a close relationship with Trump for years and has discussed the think tank’s transition plans with him, according to two people familiar with the meeting; this month, the former president named the group’s board chair, Linda McMahon, to co-lead the official transition team.
I worry that Trump & Company is packing the military with right-wing Christian Nationalist so the next coup he will have the backing of the military. There were four women four star generals now there are none!
Just another step to "Getting into Line" The military on the side of the fascist dictator. Now let me see what step is next to the final solution?
