We have always been here… the Republicans are trying to rewrite history. They are trying to make it sound like there were no trans people until recently.
They forget about Rene Richards.
They forget that we were at Stonewall.
They forget about Christine Jorgensen.
Going back even father, in Britain there were Molly Houses in the 1700s.
They don’t even know that a future President of the United States was a lawyer in a trial of trans person for assault.
They don't know that there was a French spy who lived as a woman and spied in the Russian royal court.
They don't know that there was even a Roman Caesar was trans, Elagabalus.
And there are some Bible scholars who say that in the Bible there are references to trans people.
Here in North America, the indigenous people had many names for trans people besides Two Spirit.
The Hijra, Fa'afafine, Muxé are some of the names that were given to trans people through out history.
We are here. We will not be denied our heritage. We will not be written out of history. We will not be demonized for political gain!
