Saturday: 9

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9
questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions!

On Saturdays I take a break from the heavy stuff and have some fun…
I have been under the weather since Christmas Eve. I still have a lingering cold. I was supposed to go last Saturday to New Jersey to celibate Christmas with the family but I was in no condition to go.

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

Welcome to the first Saturday 9 of 2025.

 1) We're beginning the year with a song about new beginnings. What is something new you'd like to try in 2025?
Ah… at 76 there is not many new things that I want to try out.

2) The lyrics recall what was said "in the mist of the midnight hour." Where were you when the new year dawned?
I hate to say what I was hugging when the New Year rang in.
Instead… 1999. Where I spent ringing the New Year.
That year my boss wanted my another person be in the computer room for the Y2K bug to strike. We popped a Demi bottle of bubbly and went home.

3) The Axwell of Axwell and Ingrosso is Axel Hedfors. He began as a drummer and moved on to experimenting musically on the computer, eventually mastering music sequencer software. Do you consider yourself more a technophile like Axwell, who loves technology and digital devices, or more a technophobe, anxious about learning new programs?
I am definitely a  technophobe.

4) His musical partner is Sebastian Ingrosso. Sebastian became interested in dance music when he accompanied his father, a choreographer, to the studio. When you were young, did you ever go to work with either of your parents?
No, when I was old enough to work a summer job my father worked for the state.

5) Axwell & Ingrosso gave their premiere performance at the 2014 Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City and their last concert at the 2017 Ultra Music Fest in Miami. Looking back on 2024, did you attend any outdoor music or theater performances?
Nope… the last outdoor concert was here… Grateful Dead Live at Dillon Stadium on 1974-07-31
I want to go see the play South Pacific at the Goodspeed Opera House but no one else wanted to go.

6) In 2017, when "Something New" was released, we lost the TV star who could "turn the world on with her smile." Without looking it up, do you know who that is?
Mary!

7) Also in 2017, Today Show anchor Hoda Kotb announced she had adopted her first child. Do you know anyone who is adding to their family in 2025?
Nope, not a clue.

8) Have you made any New Year's resolutions for 2025?
As I get old my New Year's resolution become simpler… Make it to next year!

9) What was the first thing to make you laugh in 2025?
I’m still waiting. Having a cold is not conducive to laughter. Bah Humbug!

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

  2. I have a cold too, but mine has stayed in my sinuses. I hope you feel better soon!
Oh Y2K! I planned to go live with my Grandparents if that happened and we all had to learn to live off the grid. Then nothing. I remember staying up that year and watching my computer. Hahahaha. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

  3. Your answer to number 8 made me laugh out loud. That's something my 84 yr old aunt would say. :)

  4. I’m also 76! Thankful for every day. Last outdoor concert was Tina Turner fried like a piece of bacon outside in the sun. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Waiting to see what the Pumpkin Prince has up his sleeve. Still in shock over that.
