Now the Republicans are attacking the NCAA, they are have sicked dogs on us.

Republican governors demand NCAA rewrite transgender student athlete policy

Nine Republican governors demanded the NCAA re-evaluate its transgender inclusion policy in a letter sent Monday.

Gov. Kristi Noem, R-S.D., Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, and seven other GOP governors signed the letter. The policy, the governors write, is harmful to female athletes who spend their lives perfecting their craft.

The NCAA has the chance to guarantee an environment where female college athletes can thrive without the concern of inequities,” they wrote. “We trust that you also want to guarantee just such an environment. But this policy allows the NCAA to avoid responsibility for ensuring the fairness of collegiate sports – therefore it must be changed.”

The governors cited former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines as a major victim of this policy. Gaines competed against and tied with transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, but was denied recognition for the feat. They also pointed to Allyson Felix, a dominant Olympic track runner whose running times would place her in the same competitions as high schoolers if she competed against men.

Yep, the Republicans are true to form, rhetoric not supported on facts, the NCAA has done extensive research on trans athletes, while the Republicans policies are based on animosity not facts.

Commenters, however, questioned the governor’s intentions in signing the document.

“Policy like this should be determined by sports governing bodies, and not grandstanding politicians looking to score points with voters,” one wrote. “@NCAA should be the people who decide these things.”

This is just part of the Republican pogrom against, they want to force us back to pre-Stonewall where we could be jailed for being ourselves.
