Lies, Lies, And More Lies!

Everything this Republicans says about us is a lie! It is the typical BS about us that the Republicans spew.

Sen. Jack Johnson: Why we seek to prohibit gender affirming care for minors | Opinion
European countries are reversing course and restricting long-held practices of pediatric gender affirming care. Tennessee should learn from their mistakes.

“First, do no harm.” The American medical community has strayed a long way from the Hippocratic ideal when treating gender dysphoria.

Instead of letting scientific evidence drive treatment protocols, the mainstream medical community in the United States has been driven by ideology with their “affirm-only/affirm early” gender affirming care policy.

These life-altering procedures have questionable benefits at best and well documented adverse health effects.

Research shows that by adulthood, many children will outgrow gender dysphoria, making these permanent procedures even more inappropriate.

We must protect children from the political beliefs of providers who push elective medical procedures on children that threaten their quality of life now and into adulthood.

Where oh where to begin?

First office in the sub-headline: “European countries are reversing course…” no they are not. The battle over our rights is only in England and it is by the Tories, the English version of the Republican party and the fascist parties in Hungry, and in some of the other eastern European countries.

The next paragraph: “First, do no harm.” that is exactly what the Standard of Care says. Nothing is done to a child that is not reversible!

Followed by: “...life-altering procedures…” and “… well documented adverse health effects” once again nothing is done that is not fully reversible, but the Republicans like to lie about that also. The medication that is used to block puberty has been used for that purpose since 1973! I wouldn't call that experimental!

Next, and this is a doozy right out George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel 1984’s doublespeak. Let me ask you a question. Which political party is trying to pass laws criminalizing recognized medical standard of care? Which party is really protecting the children with recognized medical care?

Many on the left and in the mainstream medical community would have you believe that Senate Bill 1 is an example of extreme, right-wing conservatives inserting their political ideologies into medical practice without evidence. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

The science is far from settled. In fact, progressive European countries are reversing course on gender affirming care. Evidence of poor treatment outcomes has convinced these countries to change their protocols to restrict gender affirming care practices.

Stop right there!

“The science is far from settled” and “...mainstream medical community” notice something about those two thoughts? All the national medical associations agree on medical treatment for us, it is the right-wing evangelical Christians medical quakes oppose the standard of care.

Once again, it is the Tories in England and the fascist countries that are against not only us but the whole LGBTQ+ community!

The U.S. standard of care for gender dysphoria is based on low to very low-quality evidence. The most comprehensive study reviewing the scientific research on the efficacy of gender affirming care comes from the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom.

That is utter BS… those studies have been condemned as being unscientific and biased universally by the medical community.

Then we have this editorial in the Kansas City Star…

There’s a reason Kansas and Missouri lawmakers are attacking trans kids right now | Opinion

It’s anti-transgender week in the Kansas Legislature. Lawmakers are holding hearings on three bills aimed at ostracizing the state’s transgender residents.

First up was HB2238, which received a public hearing in the House Committee on Education on Monday. It would require students at public high schools and universities to play sports associated with their “biological sex,” at least if that’s male. In other words, no one who has transitioned to female would be allowed to play in female leagues. Strangely, lawmakers are less concerned about athletes identified as female at birth playing in male sports.

No grave threat to Kansas justifies the bigotry masquerading as protecting young female athletes. According to testimony at Monday’s hearing, there are only two girls registered with Kansas State High School Activities Association to whom the bill might apply. If they were out there breaking records, as one speaker at the hearing noted, it would be front-page news.

Let’s see. Does the state of Kansas have problems with their infrastructure? Do they have problems with high rents? Do they have problems with the high cost of food? But somehow they see us as the number one problem in their state that they are having a week long series of hearing on us.

The cost of that meddling is high. Bills like this send a powerful and awful message to young Kansans coming to grips with their gender identity: You are not welcome to participate fully in your own state. Briana McGeough, an expert on LGBTQ mental health in the School of Social Welfare at the University of Kansas who specializes in working with LGBTQ youth, testified on Monday: “This bill has the capacity to harm transgender youth who aren’t even interested in participating in sports because it serves to codify stigma and discrimination against transgender people. These kinds of bills in other contexts have been linked to increased risk for depression, anxiety and (risk of suicide) among transgender people.”

And of course we are not their on target,

This isn’t really just anti-transgender week in Topeka. Conservative Kansas lawmakers will punch down on the state’s LGBTQ residents for months with a half dozen anti-LGBTQ bills targeting drag shows (SB201 and SB149), students’ personal choice of their pronouns (SB207) and more.

Nor is the bigotry limited to Kansas. Lawmakers in Missouri and Oklahoma are considering dozens of their own anti-LGBTQ bills. Indeed, Missouri lawmakers hope to one-up Florida with arguably the harshest “Don’t Say Gay” bill yet. One might almost suspect that there’s a coordinated national attempt to create hysteria among Republican voters over an LGBTQ bogeyman.

The Republican are doing a full court press on us to keep their political base riled up and angry so they go out and vote.

  1. The reality is that "protecting the children" is a red herring for discriminating against trans people in general and they will simply up the ante until older trans folk are also affected.
