To Trump, the White House is just a shanty, and that is why he entertains foreign dignitaries at Mar-a-Lago (besides making a killing by charging the government for their rooms). Traveling back and forth to Mar-a-Largo costs about Trump has made roughly 20–25 round trips between Washington and South Florida since taking office in January 2025 at around about $3–3.5 million per Mar-a-Lago trip!

Look at how his administration operates. According to The Fulcrum, former staffers have described an environment characterized by low job security, where individuals are viewed as replaceable if they fail to align precisely with administration directives. Let’s put it this way: it is not a friendly work environment.
FBI Director Kash Patel has been accused of using the FBI plane for personal use, or manufacturing reasons to use it—such as during the Winter Olympics.
Then we have ICE buying a $70 million Boeing 737 Max 8 equipped with bedrooms, showers, a bar, and multiple flat-screen TVs for their "party plane". Once the White House found out, they took direct operational control over the aircraft. Officials clarified that the luxury aircraft would be reserved for Cabinet members and top administration figures. A commercial Boeing 737 Max 8 seats around 126 to 153 people... and they are using it to fly around maybe a dozen people!

Republican Senator Chuck Grassley is asking FBI Director Kash Patel to provide details about his travel and spending, including his use of FBI aircraft and the purchase of BMW vehicles.Grassley, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent a letter asking Patel to provide a list of flights taken on FBI aircraft, the cost of each trip, and whether those flights were for official or personal purposes.The senator also requested information about the cost of the BMW purchases compared with similar Chevrolet Suburban vehicles, including fuel and storage comparisons.Patel has faced criticism over his use of FBI resources, including a trip to Milan following the Olympics gold-medal game where video of him in the Team USA men’s hockey locker room gained attention. The FBI said Patel was there in an official capacity and participated in multiple public and classified events related to Olympic security.
But remember: Trump systematically downsized and crippled those watchdog agencies, effectively removing the guardrails that protect public funds from executive excess.
