It Is All Phooey.

It is all based on bull! It is all based on lies,

Save the children... ban drag shows!

They are banning drag shows saying that it is too sexualizing for kids but it is total bull!

Case #1 Military banning drag shows.

AP News reported…
Opponents accuse organizers of drag shows of trying to “sexualize” children. Drag shows sometimes draw protesters and a bevy of Republican-led legislatures have passed bills in recent months trying to ban or restrict them.

Meanwhile out in Washington at an air show…

Base Air Show Featuring Scantily Clad Models Raises Questions About Justification for Drag Show Ban

At Joint Base Lewis-McChord's air show just outside of Tacoma, Washington, this past weekend, onlookers and families saw tactical military jets, high-performance sports cars and risqué models dancing on stage in skintight red, white and blue bikinis, part of what organizers described as a "way to thank the Puget Sound community."

Instagram was flooded with pictures and videos of the models alongside sports cars, on the runway posing in front of cargo planes and in front of hot rods parked inside a hangar. Two dancers were also featured wearing revealing flight suits while dancing on stage. It was all featured in the Air Force's air show event at the base, which was open to the public, with the dancers representing an entertainment company called Hot Import Nights.

In the midst of ongoing controversy over a Pentagon decision to limit drag shows on bases after some critics complained of alleged adult content, the models and the racy musical performances over the weekend raised questions from LGBTQ+ advocates about what criteria Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is using to stop some performances associated with the gay community while allowing other provocative acts.

"This is not anti-trans; this is not homophobic," Alford [ Rep. Mark Alford, R-Mo.] said. "If this were females in an oversexualized arena performing like this, I would be against it as well. Let's get the woke, let's get the sexual nature out, wherever it is. Whether it's performers in drag shows or women doing burlesque shows, it doesn't matter. That's not America."

Austin Higginbotham, a spokesman for Alford, did not return a request for comment asking whether the Missouri Republican condemned the risqué models present at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord air show.
Case #2 Dallas Cowboys

Now the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are not your high school cheerleaders by a long shot!
It’s a miracle nobody got hurt or worse. (And by the way, LGBTQ folks, PLEASE don’t bring guns to protests. Nothing good can come of it.)

By James Finn | DETROIT – Do you like cheerleaders? Think they’re wholesome, positive role models for children? If so, I don’t have a problem with you. Oh, I think the whole, “Boys show off athletic prowess while girls dance sexy for them” paradigm is sexist as hell, but to each their own.

Lots of things are sexist, and I know cheerleading has deep roots in American culture. So do beauty contests, the Radio City Rockettes, and other revered institutions that feature scantily clad women and girls performing to sexually titillate men and boys.

[…]

Violence, threats, hypocrisy, and downright queer-bashing are off the chain in American culture today, and drag queens are taking heaps of undeserved abuse.

I woke up this morning to news that a mob of angry men in Texas tried to shut down a “kid-friendly drag brunch” yesterday in Roanoke, part of the Dallas- Fort Worth Metroplex.

Some of the protesters were armed, and LGBTQ counter-protesters showed up with guns too, saying they were keeping the entrance to the Anderson Distillery and Grill safe for patrons.

It’s a miracle nobody got hurt or worse. (And by the way, LGBTQ folks, PLEASE don’t bring guns to protests. Nothing good can come of it.)

[….]

“I’m here to support people who don’t indoctrinate and groom little 8-year-olds,” one protester said when Monacelli asked him why he was threatening people.
But, but, but this is okay!

If you watch the above video, part of YouTube for Kids, a subdivision of the video platform advertised as safe for small children and toddlers, you’ll see scantily clad Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders teaching girls how to undulate their hips, thrust their pelvises, and otherwise perform erotic dance.

Some of the girls at the workshop, like the child in the hairbow above, appear to be about nine or ten years old.

Watching makes me pretty damn uncomfortable, but you won’t find me protesting outside family-friendly Dallas Cowboy games where the cheerleaders engage in performances that are even more erotic. You won’t find me screaming at parents that I know what’s best for their children.
Hypocrisy?

No I don’t think so.

Why?

The dictionary defines it...
: a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not : behavior that contradicts what one claims to believe or feel

Example Sentences
the hypocrisy of people who say one thing but do another
There has to be equivalency. And in their eyes it is not, they see one as evil and the other as wholesome.

The rest of the world sees it as hypocrisy but for the right-wings they see it as black and white, good versus evil. It doesn’t matter, for them anything LGBTQ+ is evil and must be fought.

But we know what it really is… Politics.

The Republicans know that they see it as good v. evil and use it as a distraction… look. Look over there it is a “Draaaag Queeenn!” we have to stop them,! Meanwhile bridges are collapsing, public water supplies are contaminated with lead, the electric grid is on the verge of massive blackouts and massive tax cuts to their billionaire friends. They want to cut Social Security and Medicare but the Republicans hide that under the rugs. We are the scapegoats to get people to look the other way.

  1. I live right outside JBLM and have not been to an air show in decades. When I took my son and daughter to the shows it was all about airplanes; flying and static displays. If there is anything sexualizing kids it is scantly attired young women doing contorted dancing. I had to drift over to the internet and "Google" what is referenced in the article. Yikes! One word; "disgusting." As to young boys, this is tell them that women are nothing more than sex objects. They were performing right alongside women who are Air Force pilots and ground support. As to the girls at the show, it is demeaning to them. From what I saw on the internet those women should be pole dancing at a strip club and not an air show. When there is an event of drag queens reading books at a library any parents know what he or she is going to see and can make an informed decision as to whether to take their child to it. At an air show? How does a parent avoid scantily clad women on stages and in front of static displays. I hope this is not repeated at the next show.
