(2) HARASSMENT/BULLYING (NON-SEXUAL)But like so many employers what their policy says and what they do is two different things. I applaud the mother in not taking legal action but sometimes that is the only way to bring about change.
(a) The District is committed to maintaining and ensuring a workplace that is free from all other types of workplace harassment. Harassment based on race or any other statutorily protected class or protected activity (e.g., religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, or complaint reporting) is unlawful. Harassment or bullying based on gender identity and/or expression is prohibited. Harassment or bullying for non-discriminatory reasons is inappropriate.
(b) The District is committed to taking appropriate action to sustain a work environment free from any and all types of bullying. Bullying is deliberate or intentional behavior using words or actions intended to cause fear, humiliation, intimidation, harm, or social exclusion. Bullying often involves repeated behavior and an imbalance of power.
