Flashback!

I was just driving down the Ave, windows down on this beautiful summer night radio set to SiriusXM channel 26, Classic Rock of the 60s and 70s when the Animals “House of the Rising Sun” came on the radio. I was transported back to the late sixties, it was the weirdest feeling. Nothing has changed in sixty years, the underpass, Dairy Queen, the fire station, the Depot Bar and Grill, the feed and grain store, it’s all there. We used to hang out at McDonalds up on the pike and I used to drive the same route back home. We had a name for it, “Cruising the Ave,” checking out to see who was at one of the bars along the way.
