Hartford School Principals To Get Training on LGBT Issues

HARTFORD — School principals in the city will receive mandatory training next academic year on how to create a more inclusive environment for students who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, district officials and legal advocates said.

The training, in partnership with legal groups that represent LGBT students and their families, will include an overview on anti-discrimination laws, proper terminology and how to navigate personal

Central office administrators will also be trained on LGBT issues in August as part of the district's professional development for the 2015-16 year. The nonprofit True Colors will lead the instruction, said David Medina, a schools spokesman.

So what has gotten their tail feathers up?

It was because of “"providing a welcoming environment for all…” because they say it is only one sided that it doesn’t consider those who object on religious grounds or consider parental rights. They feel that their right to discriminate and harass is being abridged by gay rights activists.

Being open and affirming doesn’t mean you have to give up your religious beliefs all it means is that you cannot bully or harass other people and the same time open and affirming it means that students cannot be bullied or harassed because of their religious beliefs. But I guess that isn’t good enough for them, they want to bully LGBT students but they don't want to be bullied because of their religious beliefs
