Super-Sizing ICE!

[Editorial]

There are laws... laws that get in Trump's way, they are the Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act!

They ban using the military on civilians. Trump had is hand slapped by the courts for using the National Guard. So Trump found a better way... ICE!

Within hours of the shooting in Minneapolis, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said according to CBS News,
U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem characterized the driver's actions as an "act of domestic terrorism." Tricia McLaughlin, Homeland Security's assistant secretary for public affairs, said in a statement Wednesday morning the victim was "one of these violent rioters" who "weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them — an act of domestic terrorism." However, videos posted to social media of the deadly encounter corroborate witness accounts. Mayor Jacob Frey said he's seen the videos of the incident as well and called the federal agency's narrative of the events "bulls**t." Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz added, "Don't believe this propaganda machine."
However,

The video shows a different story!

Notice the reporters said that they were yelling different commands at her, At 4:32 in the video the reporter said she was following orders To leave!

The laws ban the use of of the military domestically, however Congress in the One Big Beautiful Bill buried deep within the bill was a massive funding increase for ICE! ICE’s annual budget was approximately $10 billion before Trump and now it is over $40 billion a year!

Of the $40 billion 30 of it is being used for Enforcement & Removal Operations, the Guardian writes,
Even without reference to the use of national guard troops and equipment in support of enforcing the law – a proposition by Trump that federal courts have rejected multiple times this year – the use of military equipment and military tactics like armored vehicles, Black Hawk helicopters, Predator drones and military weapons by civilian law enforcement in the administration has drawn notice and condemnation.
ICE is exempt from the Posse Comitatus and the Insurrection Acts because they are not military but they are now behaving like a military!
“It doesn’t matter what uniform they wear, whether they are federal agents or troops, they are bound by the constitution,” said Hina Shamsi, director of the ACLU’s National Security Project. “People need to know that if any member of the federal force violates their rights, they need to be held accountable”.
You have to look at the results on this use of "civilian military" to the death and arrest of citizen to see that we are becoming more like Hungary, Turkey, and Russia!

During the Cold War, people in Soviet-bloc countries needed travel papers. Now ICE is saying that Real IDs are not enough to walk around town — that you need to carry your passport.

What are we becoming?

One last question, how could U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem know what happened in Minneapolis when they haven't even started the investigation yet?
