Most of us have no problems on the job, but if you are LGBTQ+ you worry if this day will be your last day on the job. Having a federal government job in the past used to be safe for us… but now.
It isn’t just being fired they have to worry about but also being harassed on the job or being transferred to a dead end job.

One month after the Trump administration escalated efforts at the Supreme Court to legalize anti-LGBTQ discrimination, workers at the Justice Department fear they’ll be targeted next.
In a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr, DOJ Pride — which represents thousands of LGBTQ employees across the sprawling law enforcement agency — said it surveyed members in response to the department’s recent courtroom advocacy.
“We found a clear and negative impact on employee morale,” the three-page letter said. “Some reached out to us in alarm, afraid that their jobs could be in jeopardy.”

“Every response but one reflected concern, dismay, and even distress about the cases,” said the letter sent Friday and made public Monday. The letter warned that this climate could cause staffers to remain in the closet while top talent flees the department.

Last year, the Trump administration removed from the Office of Personnel Management website guidance for all federal agencies to follow regarding transgender employees, and with the deletion implemented new policies for transitioning workers. OPM’s new policy stripped provisions that eased the process for changing gender or names in personnel files, required managers to use the gender pronouns of an employee’s choosing and provided bathroom and locker room access rights. Trump previously rolled back an Obama-era executive order aimed at protecting LGBT federal contractors. President Obama in 2014 also issued an executive order to prohibit discrimination against transgender federal employees. And the bigotry and scorn that the Trump heaps on us continues.
