The Republicans are quaking on their shoes! And it can be summed up in one word... "Epstein!"
The Republicans shut down the House early so that they could ignore discussing the Epstein Files but the Senate jumped in with both feet, they are holding hearings on Epstein. Is it to draw the "Epstein" spotlight away from Donald "Fearless Leader" Trump?
August 6, 2025Former US President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary are among high-profile figures to be sent legal summonses from a congressional committee investigating the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.Republican James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, issued the subpoenas to the Clintons and eight other individuals. The committee is seeking information about Epstein's history, after President Donald Trump's administration decided against releasing more federal files on the dead financier. That decision sparked outrage among Trump supporters and some Democrats, who refused to accept the justice department's statement that there was no "incriminating client list" in the Epstein files.[...]The Clinton administration predates the Epstein investigation, but the couple's critics have long questioned their relationship with Epstein.A spokesperson has acknowledged that Bill Clinton took four trips with staff on Epstein's private plane in 2002 and 2003, and met with Epstein in New York in 2002. Clinton also visited Epstein's New York apartment around that time. The letters to each Clinton cites these incidents, as well as other alleged encounters and connections, as reasons for summoning them.
Meanwhile in the other chamber... The Nation wrote,
After programming its legislative calendar and staging committee hearings to feed conspiracy theories and persecution fantasies, the 119th Congress appears to be grinding to a halt over the threatened release of documents relating to the Jeffrey Epstein case. Late Monday night, the House rules committee collapsed into chaos as GOP leaders blocked a bipartisan resolution directing the Department of Justice and the FBI to make public the long-debated but stubbornly stationary “Epstein files.”The standstill came about because the resolution—cosponsored by Republican Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Democrat Ro Khanna of California—explictly [sic] calls for the Trump White House to secure the documents’ release, while a competing GOP measure expresses just a feeble wish. “Their Epstein bill resolution is nonbinding, so it’s kind of fake,” said Massie, who is facing a MAGA primary challenge over his refusal to vote for Trump’s massive spending bill. “The resolution I have with Khanna would be binding on the president.”Massie and Khanna had been seeking to have their resolution go to a vote on a discharge petition—a measure that, should it win backing on the rules panel, would proceed directly to a floor vote with 218 signatures from House members supporting it. The prospect of a protracted, and possibly losing, fight over a discharge petition sent the House’s Republican leadership into paralysis.
The Republicans are floundering around half trying to protect Trump while the other half is worried about the MAGA anger over this.
“What secrets lie buried beneath the surface... and who’s really pulling the strings? Don’t miss the next chilling installment of... The Epstein Files!”
