Which cities have the higher crime rate?
Houston, TX or Los Angeles CAMemphis, TN or Washington DCBirmingham, AL or Chicago ILNew Orleans, LA or New York City
If you answered the first choice on each you would be right. You know what else is in common? Politics! Trump said he was going to send the National Guard to the northern Democratic cities because of “their soaring crime rate!” but he ignore cities with even higher crime rates? Why? Is it because they are Republican cites?
He has sent the troops to Washington DC but not to Memphis, why? Memphis has about 34% more violent crime and 21% more property crime than Washington, DC.
He has sent troops to Los Angeles but Houston has a higher crime rate than Los Angeles, approximately 1,148 per 100,000, higher than Los Angeles.
He has threaten to send troops to New York City…
Rules governing deployments of National Guard in states will restrict troops’ ability to conduct law enforcement in most jurisdictions,The IndependentBy John Bowden12 August 2025Donald Trump completed his goal of “sending in the troops” this week as he announced that the D.C. National Guard would be mobilized to fight crime in the District of Columbia, where federal officials would also be taking over the local police force. But will he stop there, or will other cities be next? After reportedly spending months debating how best to achieve the humiliation and cowing of a liberal-run urban center, the president’s second go at it appears on track for greater success. Trump previously ordered National Guard troops to begin protection duties in Los Angeles and the surrounding area following unrest in January over ICE deportation raids. That deployment, once thousands of troops, is now down to less than 300 as federal officials squabble with local leaders in the courts over whether the whole thing was a political stunt.
So now he is threatening the Democratic cities with the "Sword of Justice" over their heads… but it is illegal! And not one Republican in Congress has stood up and said… This is wrong?
Aside from refusing to sign on to that characterization, she’s [The mayor] painstakingly avoided direct confrontation with Trump, clearly fearful that the president (with the backing of a GOP House and Senate) could pursue a full federalization of D.C. city government by asking Congress to revoke the Home Rule Act.
Trump is standing there with the "Sword of Justice" over the head of D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser, threatening her. That is what Trump is good at... finding an opening and wiggling in and he thinks he has found one... the crime rate. Trump is using “Crime is rampant and out of control!” but people are stopping to say, wait a minute what crime?
Trump can’t send in federal troops unless there is an emergency, but if there isn’t one so he is fabricating one.
CBS NewsBy Marcia Kramer & Ali BaumanAugust 12, 2025Gov. Kathy Hochul is slamming President Trump for threatening to send the National Guard to New York to fight crime.[…]"You're gonna now militarize our streets like that? I mean, focus on straightening out the rest of the world, all the tariffs you screwed everything up with. You know, try to make it up with Canada. Focus on something else," Hochul said. She added, "If he crosses that bright line and decides that the 32,000 dedicated members of the NYPD are not doing their jobs, if he's going to stand there and insult our law enforcement officers, I think there'll be people in outrage over that alone."
As he cradles the "Sword of Justice" in his arms, he is demanding that New York reforms its bail laws,
New York was also the focus of the president's call for national legislation to change cashless bail laws."Every place in the country where you have no cash bail is a disaster. That's what started the problem in New York, and they don't change it," Mr. Trump said Monday.Upstate Congresswoman Elise Stefanik supported the president on the issue."New York's failed cashless bail law fuels devastating crime that harms law-abiding families and emboldens violent criminals," she said in a statement.Hochul laid into both Stefanik and the president.
See… that is what is really behind all this! Trump thinks he can use cashless bail as a wedge issue with his MAGA crew. Creating fear that hardened crimes will be out on the streets again
The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 limits the use of federal troops on the citizens of the United States, however the Insurrection Act of 1807 allows exceptions like when state governments can’t handle civil disorder. So that is why Trump & Crew are emphasizing the crime rates in the Democratic cities!
But that doesn’t hold water… with Houston, Memphis, Birmingham, and New Orleans all having a higher crime rate!
And what does the Republican lead Congress do about this abuse of power? Once again we have a "Do nothing" Congress, they fiddle over trans girls in sports while the country sizzles.
You know what else I would like to see? Is a reporter calling him a lair to Trumps face and asked why not Houston, Memphis, and Birmingham? But that will not happen, if it did you wouldn't see that media outlet at any more press conferences. Fear.

But also don't let this distract us from...
