Mini-Post: It Is 3 AM Do You Know Where Your Pets Are?

I'm sitting out in the addition at the cottage with all the window open to the cool 55F breeze. Off in the distance a dog is yapping, not a big dog. It sounds like a lap dog not a big dog with a bark.

Earlier in the night the sounds of a coyote pack howling off in the woods.

A lot of people up here are from a city or from the suburbs, they don't have to deal with animals that eat other animals. When my family had a cottage up on a lake in New Hampshire there were a lot of animals like a Fisher Cat that would see little Fifi as an appetizer. There were also birds of prey like Eagles, Hawks, and Owls. 

In New Hampshire on a wall in the grocery store there was all the missing animals. With notes saying "We have to go back to New York... our little Fifi is missing" with a cute picture of a lap dog with a bow in its hair.

Here on the Cape there are also Ospreys besides all the animals that feed on small animals and fish.

These city slickers are used to putting their dog out at night to do their business... well here there is an abundance of woods and forest there are also predictors.

Just saying it might be a good idea to go out with your pet at night while up here.
