I Can't Believe It!

The findings of the no bias crimes is crazy! Four days of torture and no hate was involved! Nope! I don't buy that!

Investigators have found no evidence that the torture and killing of a transgender man whose remains were found in a field in upstate New York last week was a hate crime, law enforcement officials said.

Law enforcement officials said on Sunday that some or all of the five people charged with murder in connection with the killing were themselves members of L.G.B.T.Q. communities.

The man, Sam Nordquist, 24, knew the people suspected in his killing, and at least one had lived with him in a motel, according to a statement released by the New York State Police and James Ritts, the Ontario County district attorney.

“We urge the community not to speculate into the motive behind the murder as we work to find justice for Sam,” the statement said. “At this time, we have no indication that Sam’s murder was a hate crime.”
So it seems like what are they saying is that you can't have LGBTQ+ bigotry within the community. I have seen bias against us the trans community by the LGBQ community.

Neither can his mother.
“Sam may be alive today if they would have done their jobs,” Linda Nordquist told NBC News.

The mother of a Minnesota transgender man who was tortured and killed in upstate New York suggested that his death was preventable if local authorities had "done their jobs."

Months before his remains were discovered last week, his family requested two wellness checks with police in Canandaigua, New York, his mother, Linda Nordquist, told NBC News in a phone call.

She added that her son expressed that he was in danger to local social services and she questioned if more could have been done to intervene before his killing.

They wondered if his identity as a trans person played a role in law enforcement's response.

"When I called, I said 'my transgender brother,' they knew that. So either they didn't conduct this wellness check because of him being transgender," Kayla Nordquist said. "Or I'm thinking because he's transgender people are like, 'Oh, he's transgender, which makes him a man so he should man up.'"
