In Tennessee the Republicans were all gung-ho on ousting the three Democrats that they didn’t think about all the ramifications of what the outcome would be and it is biting them in the a**.

Florida bill would make restrooms exclusive to males, females

March 30, 2023A bill filed in the Florida House and Senate would make it a crime if a person refuses to leave a bathroom that does not match their sex assigned at birth.

CS/HB 1521, dubbed the “Safety in Private Spaces Act,” would make it a second-degree misdemeanor for people 18 years or older to use a restroom or changing facility designated for the opposite sex if they refuse to immediately leave when asked.

“Florida does not currently make it a crime for a person of one sex to enter a restroom or changing room intended for use by the opposite sex,” a House of Representatives staff analysis states.

However, the bill states, “the Legislature finds that females and males should be provided restrooms and changing facilities for their exclusive use in order to maintain public safety, decency, and decorum.”

First of all, the last bathroom that I was in had stalls! If you peek over or under them that is already a crime! When I was in college back in the early seventies all the locker rooms that I was in also had stalls with their own showers.

I would like to point out that they only trans people that they are attacking are those who cannot integrate into society, those that are too masculine looking. Also cis women who are also too masculine looking, they will be challenged all the time.

Furthermore, the Republicans didn’t even think about trans men!

Florida being a tourist state, what will happen when a trans person from another state like Connecticut where you can change your birth certificate uses a bathroom? My birth certificate says that I am female. The U.S. Constitution says,

Article IV Relationships Between the States
Section 1 Full Faith and Credit Clause

Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.

In other words since my gender under Connecticut law says I am female all the other states must respect my birth certificate. So Florida is opening up a big can-of-worms that going to go all the way to the Supreme Court.

The Republicans are like a bunch of sharks in a feeding frenzy… they are operating on instinct when they smell blood and don't think.

A Republican state legislator in Florida apologized Monday after he called transgender people "demons" and "mutants" at a legislative hearing.

State Rep. Webster Barnaby had lashed out at transgender people earlier in the day at a Commerce Committee hearing on the Safety in Private Spaces Act, a bill that would criminalize using restrooms that match people's gender identities when the restrooms don’t match their “biological sex.”

Barnaby, who referred to himself as a conservative Christian, staunchly defended the bill, saying he was "not on the fence" about what it would do.

"We have people that live among us today on planet Earth that are happy to display themselves as if they were mutants from another planet. This is the planet Earth with God-created men, male, and women, female," he said.

"That’s right, I called you demons and imps who come and parade before us and pretend that you are part of this world," he added.

He latter apologized.

“I would like to apologize to the trans community for referring to you as demons,” he said.

Apology not accepted.

In order to apologize you have to feel remorse, in order to apologize you have to be sincere, you have to mean that you want to correct past behavior and you can't do it again.

He is only sorry that he got called out about it.
