That Gender Confirming Surgery is new?
Do you remember Lili Elbe? She was the trans woman who had GCS back in 1930 at the Dresden Municipal Women's Clinic. They even made a movie about her, “The Danish Girl.”
Further back in time…
Have you heard of Chevalier D’Eon who was a master spy for the French king? She was was a French
diplomat, soldier, and spy active in the mid to late 1700s.
Then let us not forget that one of our sixth presidents defended a trans person back in the 1770s, the case of Gray vs. Pitts. Assault and Battery.
Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin lived in the 1800s and wrote as George Sand and went around Paris dressed as a man (We do not know for sure if Dupin was trans or not because back then there was no words like transgender.)
Then we have Dr Alan Hart who lived here in Connecticut also back in the late 1800s. Dr Hart lead the research of tuberculosis, heading mass x-ray programs for the State Health Department in Connecticut!
And how can we forget Christine Jorgensen who had GCS back in 1950! There are many who are still alive that knew her and she was on many TV shows and lectured around the world about being trans.
We have been around since the first days of recorded history, some even say we are in the Bible. The Republicans want to create the lie that we are a new phenomenon just “created” recently but that is far from the truth. They want to think that it is a new epidemic taking the country by storm, they do that so they can say that they are “Saving the Children” when in reality they are destroying people’s lives.
